Chapter 550 Symeon Saves the Day
Dulcie glanced at Casey, who appeared lost in thought, and asked, “Miss Casey, what are you lookingat? Are you hungry? Should we order?”
Startled by Dulcie’s voice, Casey snapped out of her reverie but still couldn’t help but glance in thatdirection.
Indeed, Eleanor was dining with Peter and a man who was definitely not her father, Philip. He looked.much younger than her father.
Symeon also noticed her distraction and asked, “What are you looking at? Aren’t you hungry?”
“I’m not very hungry. You go ahead and order for Dulcie. I need to go to the bathroom. I’ll be rightback.”
After saying that, she left with her phone.
Symeon observed her mysterious expression but didn’t pay much attention. Then, he took the menuand showed it to Dulcie.
However, Dulcie was worried about Casey, “Dad, Miss Casey seems preoccupied.”
“You little rascal, what you know about being preoccupied?”
Hearing the term “preoccupied” from the little girl’s mouth was a bit surprising. It was probablysomething she learned from one of her classmates in kindergarten.
“Miss Casey does seem preoccupied. Why don’t you go and check on her?”
“Why should I care about her? That’s her privacy. If she doesn’t want to tell you, then don’t pry toomuch, understand?”
Dulcie pouted and nodded. “Okay.”
“Order your food. Didn’t you say you were hungry? What do you want to eat?”
“Um… I want to have these chicken wings.”
Casey quietly approached Eleanor from behind and discreetly took a photo of this harmonious scenewith her phone.
Then, she walked up to the dining table and said, “Stepmother, what a coincidence
The term “stepmother” caught the attention of many people, including Eleanor and the man sittingacross from her. They looked up with a bewildered expression.
Upon seeing his sister, Peter looked disgusted. “Casey! You’re so annoying. Why did you disturb uswhile we were eating? I hate you. Dad scolded me because of you, so I hate you. Leave.”
Casey looked at her detestable younger brother and sneered. “Do you think I want to see you? But youdon’t own this restaurant, so I can come and go as I please. Can you do anything about it?”
“Casey, do you really need to talk to your little brother that way? He’s young, but are you as childish ashim? I just brought Peter here to have a meal with a friend.”
Eleanor didn’t want to lose her temper in public. After all, so many people were watching, and thisrestaurant was crowded with customers.
It wouldn’t look good if things got out of hand, so she just wanted to get rid of Casey quickly.
“Oh… a friend. Who is this man to you? Does my dad know him, too? Should I call Dad to come andeat with us since we’re all friends?”
As she spoke, Casey was about to take out her phone to make a call, but Eleanor quickly stopped her.“No! No need. Your dad is busy today and should still be in a meeting. Let’s not disturb him. We’redone eating anyway. Let’s go.”
Eleanor used her eyes to signal the man across from her to quickly go and settle the bill so that theycould. leave. The man quickly understood and stood up to settle the bill.
However, Casey stopped him. “Sir, what’s your name? So that I can mention you when I chat with nexttime. May I have your name?”
“I-I’m… I need to go settle the bill, young lady, so don’t block my way.”
The man didn’t want to get entangled with her anymore. Moreover, there were so many people here, and someone they knew would eventually notice if they continued to cause a scene.
But Casey stubbornly blocked his way and wouldn’t let him leave. “Why can’t you tell me your name, sir? Is your name something to be ashamed of?”
“Casey, you’re so annoying. Why are you blocking my daddy’s way? Move!”
Peter grabbed her clothes and angrily scolded her. From that, Casey got an unexpected clue andraised an eyebrow. “Daddy? You call this man, Daddy?”
At that point, Eleanor turned pale and angrily reprimanded Peter, “Peter, what nonsense are youspouting? You should be calling him Uncle John. Why do you call everyone Daddy, you brat?”
“Why are you scolding me, Mom? Didn’t you teach me to call him ‘Daddy?’ Why are you scolding me?”Peter felt wronged and sat on the ground, crying loudly like a mischievous child.
Seeing this scene, Casey couldn’t help but curl her lips into a smile.
Meanwhile, the man Peter called ‘Daddy’ was furious and shouted at Casey, “How can you be sounreasonable? How could you bully a child so much younger than you? Is this how Philip taught you?”
“How my dad brought me up has nothing to do with you, and it’s normal for me to tease my youngerbrother. Can an outsider like you interfere with our matters? Or do you have some relationship withPeter?”
By now, Casey had already guessed most of the story. She suspected that this man had a relationshipwith Peter, or else why would he be so agitated?
Moreover, she found it strange when she discovered Eleanor was pregnant. Her dad was already old,so how could it be so easy for him to get a woman pregnant?
“I am Peter’s-”
Before the man could finish his sentence, Eleanor covered his mouth and angrily rebuked, “Whatnonsense are you talking about? This is our family matter. You, an outsider, have no right to interferewith
Even if they don’t get along, they are still siblings, so it’s not your place to meddle. You invited me todinner today because you want me to speak well of you in front of my husband. But now I’m telling youthat it’s impossible. This meal is on me.”
After speaking, Eleanor picked up her son, who was throwing a tantrum on the ground, walked towardthe cashier, quickly paid the bill, and left.
Casey and the man stood facing each other in the same spot.
The man looked at Casey and raised his arm in anger, ready to slap her. “You, young lady, are sounreasonable. The Carter Family’s upbringing is not that good, it seems. I’m going to teach you a
lesson on behalf of your father!”
Seeing the slap about to come at her, Casey instinctively closed her eyes, feeling she couldn’t dodgethis. slap.
Unexpectedly, just as the man was about to slap her, she heard him scream and fall to the ground.
Casey opened her eyes and witnessed the man Peter referred to as “Daddy” being knocked down, clutching his nose as blood gushed out.
Glancing to the side, she noticed Symeon’s towering figure standing there, his expression composedas he uttered in a deep voice, “You, a grown man, resorting to violence against a woman. That’s trulydisgraceful.”
Upon hearing these words, the onlookers erupted in applause and cheers.
“That’s right, a man assaulting a young girl. What kind of person does that?”
“He even has the audacity to criticize the young girl for being unmannered, yet he lacks basic mannershimself.”
“People who lack manners are often the ones who are quick to judge others for their lack of manners.”
Witnessing the scene, the man could only cover his nose and hastily exit the restaurant.
