Chapter 572 Locked in the Basement

“Why are you afraid of me doing a paternity test if you have nothing to hide?” Casey confrontedEleanor, tightly protecting the items in the bag.

“You’re making a big deal out of nothing. Your dad has already taken a paternity test, but you refuse tobelieve it. You’re just causing trouble and trying to drive me crazy.” Eleanor started a game of cat andmouse as she attempted to snatch the bag from Casey’s hands.

However, Casey held onto the bag tightly. She ran around the house even though she knew that shecouldn’t escape. After all, this was her home, and she was quite familiar with it.

“If you’re innocent, why are you trying to snatch it from me? You’re just afraid that I’ll discover the truth!”Casey retorted.

“Discover what? Casey, can you stop being as annoying as your mother? Haven’t you noticed that yourdad hates you now, just like he used to hate your mother? He’s even taking you to court, and yet you’restill making a fuss here!”

Eleanor was determined to snatch the toothbrushes no matter what. She couldn’t let Casey proceedwith. the paternity test.

With a loud slap, Casey struck Eleanor’s face and shouted, “You have no right to mention my mother! You murderer!”

Eleanor covered her cheek in disbelief and said, “How dare you hit me! What’s wrong with mentioningyour mother? And how am I a murderer? Your mother committed suicide by jumping off a building. What does that have to do with me?”

“If it weren’t for you, my mother wouldn’t have been driven to the point of jumping off a building!Eleanor, you still haven’t repented!”

Casey realized that this malicious woman would never admit her own mistakes. She would only shiftthe blame onto others.

“I dare you to say that again! How can there be such a shameless woman like you? The audacity!”

Whenever her mother’s death was mentioned, Casey couldn’t help but shed tears.

Seizing the opportunity, Eleanor snatched the bag from Casey’s hand and pulled at her hair, causingher to fall to the ground.

“Ah!”

Casey cried out in pain, but Eleanor held onto her hair tightly. At that moment, Dylan happened to walkover.

Eleanor demanded, “Don’t just stand there; come over and help!”

He stepped forward to separate the two and intended to send Casey away first. It was clear that withEleanor present, Casey couldn’t take those toothbrushes away.

“Miss Casey, please leave quickly. You can discuss this later, Dylan whispered in Casey’s car.

However, Casey refused to listen. She only wanted to retrieve those three toothbrushes and proceedwith. the paternity test. She was determined to kick Eleanor out of the Carter Family.

Ever since Eleanor entered the Carter Family, she had caused trouble and chaos throughout thehousehold. Even their relatives and friends had distanced themselves from the family.

Eleanor threw the toothbrushes far away and stepped on Casey’s hands with her high heels.

Casey felt as if holes were being punched through her palms!

“Madam, you can’t do this. Miss Casey’s hands will hurt, Dylan tried to intervene, but Eleanor glared athim angrily. “What? If you try to touch my legs. I’ll sue you for sexual harassment.”

The butler stood aside and dared not move again, watching Casey’s pained expression with a heavyheart.

However, Eleanor deliberately sent the butler away. “Go and throw the three toothbrushes in the trashcan. Quickly! Hurry up!”

“What about Miss Casey-”

“What can I possibly do to her? I’ll treat her wounds later! Besides, I didn’t do it on purpose. She alsoslapped me before, so we’re even now.”

Eleanor didn’t seem to care. Despite everything, she was the lady of the Carter family, so the butlercould only pick up the bag and leave.

Once the butler was completely gone, a thought crossed Eleanor’s mind. She helped Casey up fromthe ground and said with a smile, “Come on, I’ll treat your wounds. Otherwise, if your dad sees this, hewill accuse me of bullying you again. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it just now. You also slapped me, so we’reeven, right?”

“Go away! I don’t need your false kindness!”

Casey decided to leave first. She would deal with collecting evidence another time.

But she didn’t expect that it would be so difficult to leave today.

Eleanor held her back. “Come on, you’re just getting your wounds treated. What harm can I do to you?Your dad won’t let me off if you act like this. Although he says he wants you to get out of this house,

can’t you see? He visits you every few days, so in reality, he doesn’t want to take you to court.Honestly, can’t you two just reconcile…”

When her father was mentioned, Casey let her guard down and allowed Eleanor to lead her into thehouse.

Eleanor went to the refrigerator and took out an ice pack to apply it to Casey’s hand, which was swollenand bruised from being stepped on with the high heels.

“Ah…” Casey felt a sudden cold sensation on her hand, which was slightly painful.

Eleanor apologized. “Sorry, I’ll be gentler. Bear with it for a while. You need the cold compress;otherwise, your hand will swell, and you won’t be able to do anything tomorrow,”

Casey didn’t say anything. She held the ice pack herself.

Eleanor got up and took out the handkerchief from behind. Slowly moving around behind Casey, sheseized the opportunity to cover Casey’s face with the handkerchief suddenly.

The ice pack in Casey’s hand fell to the ground. Casey struggled to get up but was firmly held down byEleanor.

After a few seconds, Casey lost consciousness and collapsed on the couch, unconscious.

Eleanor looked at Casey’s motionless body and finally removed the handkerchief, smiling. “Luckily, Iprepared this handkerchief in advance. I didn’t expect it to come in handy. You walked into this trapwillingly, so don’t blame me.”

With that, Eleanor dragged Casey to the basement. She locked Casey in the basement that no one hadvisited for years and took away her handbag.

Seeing Casey’s unconscious state, Eleanor sneered, “Stay here quietly. After I transfer all your shares,I’ll let you out.”

After that, Eleanor departed. She locked the door and left Casey in the basement.

Upon Eleanor’s return to the living room, she noticed Philip sitting there, seemingly awaiting someone.

“Dear, why are you back so early?”

“Dylan informed me that Casey had returned. Where is she? Did you take her somewhere?” Philipbelieved that his beloved daughter had finally come to her senses and came back to apologize.

Eleanor glanced at Dylan. She hadn’t expected him to be so loyal that he would immediately go toinform Philip about it.

She would deal with that butler too. Sooner or later, this butler will ruin her plans.

“Well, she still refuses to communicate with us. She only returned to retrieve some clothes and left rightafter that. I couldn’t persuade her to stay no matter how I tried.”
