Chapter 37 - Such a Woman Sounds Delightful

Clark trembled as he extracted his cellphone, pulled up an address, and handed it over to Henry Jefferson.

Assistant Cooper grabbed the phone and with a tone of urgency declared, "Mr. Jefferson, it's an abandoned factory in the outskirts."

He quickly calculated the distance, then added, "Driving there would take at least three hours."

Henry extended his hand, and Sophie passed him a coat. He draped it over his shoulders as he walked and commanded, "Call in the helicopter."

A Sikorsky S92 was ready in the estate's hangar. Cooper immediately proceeded with the clearance.

Within ten minutes, the helicopter lifted off from the estate, cutting through the sky towards the southwestern edge of the suburbs.

Twenty minutes later, the helicopter hovered above the desolate factory. Henry descended using a rappelling rope.

The landscape was overgrown with weeds and scattered bushes, with the decrepit factory eerily blending into the surrounding woods.

...

"Boss, why hasn't she woken up yet?"

"Idiot, splash her with water!"

Splash-

A cold bucket of water cascaded down, causing Giselle Lambert's neck to jolt as she snapped back to consciousness, her mind still clouded by drugs. Water filled her eyes, forcing her to squint as she scanned the grimy surroundings littered with garbage.

Looking upward, she saw several sets of menacing feet, and above those, a group of grim-faced men staring down at her with predatory gazes.

A shiver of dread ran through her, and she realized the gravity of her predicament.

Before she could assess the situation fully, a voice exaggeratedly bellowed, "Bro, she's awake, let's start!"

The one they called was a young man in his twenties with a large black mole on his cheek, giving him a sinister and ruthless look.

The mole-faced man shoved his underling aside and moved to the forefront.

"Step back," he ordered, his hand landing on Giselle's shoulder, "I'll go first. Haven't seen such a beauty before!"

His hands roved over her, searching for openings in her clothing.

Her white dance outfit, now drenched, clung to her skin, rendering her nearly half-naked before them.

She struggled briefly, and the coarse rope chafed her skin raw.

"Why have you kidnapped me?" she demanded, attempting to maintain composure.

Only by understanding their motives could she start to turn the tables.

Besides, Henry's men were never far, and if they noticed her absence, he would surely come looking for her.

After all, despite her carefully plotted previous escape attempts, he had always managed to track her down.

"Yo, your voice is so sweet," the mole-faced man smirked more vulgarly, "Just wait till I get you moaning; it'll sound even sweeter."

Enraged by his crude words, Giselle managed to suppress her fury and challenged, "Do you know who I am?"

"Trying to scare me? I was raised on scares," he sneered as he tore at the hem of her skirt and reached toward her legs.

But before his hands could touch her, a gunshot split the air.

The mole-faced man collapsed before her, his face frozen in disbelief, eyes wide in shock.

The thugs snapped to alert, but no match for professional bodyguards, they were quickly subdued.

Henry rushed over, draping his coat over Giselle and knelt, cradling her face.

"Are you alright?" he asked, his voice laden with concern.

Giselle nodded instinctively, then immediately shook her head.

Henry drew a dagger from his leg holster and sliced through the ropes binding her.

As he freed her, he carefully avoided the raw wounds on her wrists and ankles.

Carrying her out of the abandoned factory, a fierce rage smoldered in Henry's eyes.

His wrath was directed at the thugs.

"Beat them until dead," he ordered dispassionately, his tone as detached as if discussing a mundane physics problem.

The thugs screeched for mercy, but Henry had already exited the factory. Soon after, heart-wrenching screams echoed from within, a chilling testament to their fate.
