Chapter 121

Since Emma’s previous plans had failed, she knew she could not afford a misstep moving forward. Sheneeded to ruin Alice once and for all!

She was green in envy at the thought of Keith visiting the Woland Family yesterday and asking forAlice’s hand in marriage. Not only that, her photo with Elijah was in Alice’s hand, which was why shecould not have Alice around.

In the meantime, Irvin and Ethan overheard Emma’s conversation with the waitress from the third floor.

“Looks like I didn’t mishear. Emma is conspiring with the waitress to harm Alice! I never thought she’dbe an evil character, given her gentle and lovely demeanor!” A smirk appeared on Irvin’s face. Whywould these people harm others? They’re hypocritical, acting like a saint when they’re despicable.

He believed that Emma was no different from his scheming brother, Ivan.

“Ethan, should we stop her?” Since they had learned that Emma would hurt Alice, he wondered if theyshould interfere.

“Not for now.” Ethan scrunched up his eyes. Will Little Fox fall for it?

He wanted to observe Alice’s response. If she wandered into the trap, he would jump out to stop her.Of course, he would not go easy on those who bullied her.

“Got it.” Irvin understood Ethan’s intention, and his eyes shone with excitement at the thought of theimpending drama. Pulling tricks on Ethan’s woman under his watch was not a wise move at all.

After Alice and the waitress left, Bruce showed up and stared in the direction they fled with a complexlook in his eyes. He did not expect to overhear the conversation during his restroom detour. Is Emmaplanning to drug Alice?

Once the waitress was back at the event hall, she walked up to Alice and handed her the glass ofCoke. “Miss Woland, here’s a Coke for you. Old Mr. Woland knows you don’t take alcohol, so he askedus to prepare this for you instead.” The waitress lowered her head and avoided eye contact with Aliceout of guilt.

“Sure. Thank you.” Alice smiled and took the glass of Coke, much to the waitress’ relief. The waitressreflexively turned around and shot her ’employer’ a glance.

Emma, who had her eyes on Alice all along, saw everything and smiled gleefully. Things would beinteresting once Alice drank the Coke.

Bruce observed the situation as he pursed his lips. He glanced at Emma before looking at the glass ofCoke that Alice was about to drink. His eyes gleamed, but he said nothing.

“This can’t be! How could Alice fall for the trap?” Irvin, who was watching with amusement, started topanic. “Alice is too naive. She doesn’t know how to keep her guard up!”

Ethan smiled. Others might not know Alice well, but he gained some understanding of her characterafter spending time with her. He firmly believed she would not fall for Emma’s trick because of her keenobservation.

In the hall, Alice lifted the glass of Coke and slowly pressed it against her lips. The few people in theknow each had a different expression on their faces. The waitress was guilty and scared, Emma was inanticipation while feeling nervous, and Bruce was hesitant and struggling.

Only Ethan remained composed. However, he was still keeping an eye on Alice. Seconds ago, he sawthe sly sparkle in her eyes. He knew she must have sensed something was wrong, so she attempted tomisguide the others. She’d never take that drink!

Hence, he decided to stay put and watch. Still, he took out his phone and scrolled to her contact. Ifsomething went wrong, he would immediately call to stop her.

“Ethan, the Coke is laced with drugs! If Alice drinks it, I’m afraid…” Irvin was panicking at the thought ofAlice downing the drink. He got along well with her, and more than that, she was Ethan’s wife. Heneeded to protect his friend’s woman from getting harmed by outsiders.

In the next second, Alice moved the glass of Coke away from the lips. She swirled the drink in her handwith an inexplicable look in her eyes. Then, she glanced at Emma with smiling eyes. When their eyesmet, Emma felt shocked because Alice’s smile sent shivers down her spine, giving her goosebumps.

Watching from the third floor, Ethan smiled gently. That’s Little Fox, indeed! Emma couldn’t dream offooling Alice with those low-level tricks. I’m impressed.

“Did Alice replace out?” Irvin was confused by Ethan’s reaction, but he soon became excited. “If she did, what would she do next? Will she force that Coke down Emma’s throat?” He had a penchant forwatching the world burn.

“No.” Surprisingly, Ethan answered his question.

“No? How’d you know?” Irvin protested, “Do you know what she’ll do next?”

Ethan’s eyes twinkled with a smile, but he did not answer this time.

There was a bar, specially set up in the hall, where the hotel manager, Mr. Hampton, was givinginstructions. Alice went up to him with the glass of Coke, and Emma’s eyes gleamed as she wonderedwhat Alice was up to.

As Alice arrived before Mr. Hampton with the drink in her hand, she whispered something in his ear,and he immediately turned around and glanced at Emma, causing Emma to panic. The clever woman

turned her attention to Emma with a bright and lovely smile, stunning her in place.

After that, Alice placed the drink on the table at the bar as she chatted with Mr. Hampton. Next, shetook a pen and scribbled quickly on the tabletop. In the meantime, she shot a few cautious glances inEmma’s direction, which Mr. Hampton imitated.

Since Emma was eyeing Alice, she was scared of Alice’s behavior. Did she notice what I did? And didshe tell Mr. Hampton about it?

Even if Alice complained to Mr. Hampton, Emma had no fear. She could deny any involvement and askElijah to take care of the hotel manager, given her relationship with him. In the end, Alice would get theshort end of the stick.

“Is Alice going to tell Mr. Hampton about it?” Irvin frowned slightly. “I guess that’s a reasonable way togo about it. But the hotel manager can’t do anything about it, right? It’s a little frustrating.”

Frustrating? Ethan had an unreadable smile on his face.
