Chapter 20

It was such a pity as all of Naomi’s flawless planning had gone to waste.

No matter how well-thought-out her plan was, it would be all for naught as long as the source of herintel was corrupted.

“Pft… Hahaha. This is f*cking funny. I can’t. Hahaha. Mrs. Yeager set the stage and got so many actorsfor the big show, but it went down the drain. This ending is… is just such a twist. So, she did all thesefor nothing? Hahaha.” Caleb, who was watching and had half a mind to head down and punchsomeone, was laughing until he teared up. “Now, I can’t wait to see how the Yeagers and Chief Cooperwill settle this.”

Ethan’s brow twitched slightly at the scene.

The situation faced such an abrupt plot twist. It was so effortless, straightforward, and brutal that itcaught everyone off guard.

It was a one-shot victory. Swift, to the point, and ruthless.

However, he felt that this was merely the appetizer. He was confident Alice had something else up hersleeve, and it would make things even more riveting. He couldn’t wait for her to stir up a storm.

“I’m sure Miss Woland would have seen the Yeager’s true colors by now. So, she wouldn’t marry Brucenow, right? So the wedding wouldn’t continue, right?” Caleb let out a sigh of relief for poor Alice andalso Ethan. He was actually a little worried that Ethan would cause a scene at this wedding.

Even though they owned the hotel, it would still be best to avoid making a mess.

Ethan didn’t answer him, but the corners of his lips slowly curved into a slight smirk. The weddingwould not happen today and would definitely not end so easily.

There would be more exciting things to come. He could feel the anticipation within him surge for theshow that was about to start.

“How could this be?” Bruce was shocked and thought to himself, How could this be? The scar on herface didn’t look like that from the pictures Alice sent me.

The scar on the woman’s face in the video was a replica of the one on Alice’s face from the picture shesent him. So how could it be different?

Alice didn’t bother answering Bruce nor look at him. She had not even begun to ruin him, and he hadalready lost his composure.

It was too soon for him to lose his cool. She hadn’t even started her plan yet. Nevertheless, she waseager to see how crazy he would become due to his current reaction.

Naomi wracked her brain and could not figure out how things turned out this way.

Indeed, the person in the video was an imposter she found.

She knew it was risky to do this. She initially wanted Alice to record the video. Then, the plan wouldhave been perfect.

However, Alice hadn’t given her a chance because she never got to see her. Every time she returned toRodcaster in the past seven years, she would just head to the office to finish some work and then headback to Cliaria after work. Naomi had tried to see her a few times and even followed her to Cliaria a fewtimes but was unsuccessful.

Even Bruce had not seen Alice for the past seven years.

She didn’t have a choice and could only think of a second plan.

Of course, the only reason she dared to do this was that Alice was dumb-witted, and no one would helpher anyway.

However, she had strictly followed the picture Alice sent to Bruce to replicate the scar that not an ouncewas missing. How could this be?

How could this happen? Naomi had never thought that the scar on Alice’s face was fake.

Well, never in a million years would she think that the picture Alice sent to Bruce was a fake from thestart.

No, the picture was definitely genuine, but the scar was just different!

When Alice got injured seven years ago, she had massive facial scarring. This was commonknowledge.

Every time Alice returned to Rodcaster to handle her business these seven years, the media tookpictures of her many times and published them. The scar on her face was visible, and it became atrademark of hers.

Regardless, none of the media had ever taken a clear view of her scar, as her hair would always coverhalf of it. So despite Bruce persuading Alice to give him a full picture of her scar, it was up to her howthe scar would look in the picture.

Alice had long caught on to Naomi’s vicious plan and was beating her at her own game.

Everyone at the scene didn’t suspect that the scar on Alice’s face was fake since no girl would like towear a scar that hideous on their face.

Especially since it was Alice’s wedding, she wouldn’t have wanted to put an ugly scar on her face. Allbrides would have liked to look their best.

Moreover, everyone had suspected that this was Naomi’s scheme from the start.

The Yeager Family was oppressing Alice, who was an orphan and even wanted her life. They wereafter her inheritance, and it was dishonorable of them.

Everyone just stood by the sidelines because Alice was too dumb and naive. They could not havestopped her, fearing that she would claim they were trying to cause conflict since she insisted onmarrying Bruce and didn’t even listen to the rest of the Wolands.

Now that things had played out like this, someone could not help but speak up, “Mrs. Yeager, howcould you play such a ridiculous video at the wedding? Is it because Miss Woland is an orphan, soyou’re bullying her?”

Lyra glanced at Alice when she questioned Naomi. She sighed to herself and hoped that Alice couldstand up for herself. If not, nobody could help Alice.

Despite that, she still didn’t have the heart to stop and decided to help out since she wasn’t afraid ofoffending anyone. “Who was the shameless person who looked for someone so similar to Miss Wolandand took these disgusting pictures and videos? Do you think we’re all morons? I’m sorry to say it’s amediocre replication. The differences between the scars are too huge; it’s comical.”

Lyra looked at Naomi briefly before snickering loudly, “What’s even more ridiculous is that it’s clear theyaren’t the same people, but the DNA report results are the same. My eyes have truly been openedtoday. Everyone from the media should also report this for the world to be amazed.”

Lyra Lancester was a powerful woman in the fashion industry and had a good working relationship withthe media. So, whatever she said would influence the media’s report. Most of the press were invited by

the Yeagers and were apprehensive of them. However, they were eager to write about this when theyreceived Lyra’s support.

Alice was touched by her help. Unfortunately, she had a few more plans to execute, and it wasn’t theright time to tell Lyra more. So, she just smiled gently at her, thinking that she would repay her later.

Lyra was taken aback and sighed softly. She felt that Alice was too naive and soft; it was like she wasasking to be bullied. She had said what she could. There was nothing else she could do if Alice didn’tpick up on her hint.
