Britney finally let out a sigh of relief. She brought the little girl into her arms and held her tightly. This isChristine’s child. She’s finally come back to us!

Christine was gone, and the only thing left of her was this child. This pitiful child.

Looking at the scene before her, Alice was reminded of her parents, the tears in her eyes blurring hervision.

“Okay, let’s all go inside now.” Lawrence suddenly spoke up.

Alice almost shed tears, but she held them back.

The Knight Family’s mansion was huge and luxurious. Caroline quickly became happy and excited; shewas no longer as reserved as when she had just arrived.

She had always been sociable, so it didn’t take long for her to become familiar with the two elderlymembers of the Knight Family.

“Your father is away on a business trip. He will only be back in a few days. By then, you’ll be able tosee him,” Britney explained to Caroline patiently when the little girl asked about her father.

Lawrence didn’t go to the company. Instead, he stayed home to accompany Caroline.
