Evil Angels
Chapter 17

Emma’s POV

My mouth dropped open in shock, “Your mate?... Like as in soulmate?”

Alexandra looked down at the counter top, “Yes. I know it is weird and if you don’t want me because I am who I am. You can just tell me and I will leave you alone.”

I instantly felt all the pain she was holding inside of her about the possibility of being rejected.

I stood up and walked over to her, “No, don’t think like that. I am perfectly fine with who you are. I just need some more time to get to know you… Please, stop feeling bad about yourself. I can feel it too.”

Her red eyes met mine, “You can? I thought it was just me.”

I lifted my arms up, “Yes, now give me a hug because I hate feeling your sadness.”

She just stared at me weirdly, “I am not really a hugging type of person.”

I sighed and wrapped my arms around her, “Sucks. If you are going to be my mate or whatever you want to call it, you are going to have to get used to it.”

She quickly wrapped her arms around me then kept them drop again, “There, are you happy?”

I released my hold on her and she immediately stepped back. I shook my head, “We will have to work on that.”

Out of nowhere, there was a loud bang on top of the roof causing me to flinch. Alexandra snapped out her wings, “It’s Larus but he never lands like that.”

She smelt the air and her nose scrunched up in disgust, “There is an angel with him… Stay here.”

She took off out the door but then a few seconds later, her, Larus, and another man burst through the door. The man stood up with beautiful white wings and long white hair.

An angel...

Alexandra and Larus stood, staring him down. Larus was whipping his tail back and forth, “What do you want from us, angel? We have done nothing wrong. You got Gabe’s soul.”

I shrunk myself behind the wall to stay hidden from their sight. The angel glanced around the room, “Well I did feel a strange presence with the soul too. Almost as if a human was there. And trust me, I know you know angel laws.”

Larus seemed to only get more mad about that comment, “Oh I do know the laws. But just one little thing you forgot… I am not just an angel anymore. I am evil.”

At the same time him and Alexandra launched themselves towards the angel. A giant fight broke out between all of them. Claws were thrown through the air as wings uselessly flapped around. I kept back until I saw the angel pull out a silver sword from behind his back. He kicked Larus off of him and pinned down Alexandra so that his sword was against her neck.

Oh no.

I jumped out from behind the wall and ran towards the angel. I flung myself on to him knocking him off of Alexandra and dropping his sword a safe distance away from us.

Holy shit that actually worked.

Larus quickly grabbed me and passed me off to Alexandra who just got up, “Go take her to your room.”

The angel swung himself up off the floor, “So it is true. You two have a human with you.”

Alexandra pushed me behind her and lifted her wings so I was hidden, “You do not touch her or I will personally rip your wings off, angel.”

The angel smiled, “I would like to see you try, evil.”

He picked up his sword and placed it behind his back, “No more fighting for now. I will see the three of you later.”

He then ran out the door and soared into the sky. Alexandra looked pissed as her eyes were bright red, “I am going to kill him.”

She folded in her wings and started to walk towards the door but Larus grabbed her arm, “You will not. Killing him will send a whole army down on us… I will not lose my fledgling to them too.”

She glared him down for a second before sighing and going back to her human form, “Yes, maker.”

She feels so angry and disappointed right now.

She then walked up the stairs and disappeared into the hall leading to her room. Larus went back to his human form too, “Well that’s dealt with… I can tell she was making you a sandwich when I showed up. How about let you eat it this time without a murderous angel breaking in?”

“That would be great. Thank you.”

I followed him back into the kitchen and sat down at the counter. I rubbed the temples of my head feeling a wave of emotions.

This sucks.

Larus set the sandwich in front of me then sat on the stool next to me, “You are feeling everything she is going through right now, aren’t you?”

“Yeah, it hurts me knowing she is feeling like this. She is so angry but also disappointed in herself.”

He nodded, “It’s because she feels like she can’t protect you. That is one of the main jobs as a mate and she feels that she has failed.”

I nodded and started to eat my sandwich while Larus sat, staring at the door. He looked back over at me, “I have an idea. You stay the night here so Alexandra can cheer up and in case that angel comes back you are safe.”

I still don’t feel comfortable around them. They were fighting with that angel so brutality. They looked like bloodthirsty monsters.

I put down my sandwich, “Umm… I don’t know.”

Larus laughed, “Don’t worry you can have your own room… We aren’t going to do anything to you. Alexandra is your mate and it’s almost impossible for her to harm you. And you are basically like my daughter in law now.”

Good point but I still don’t know….

He shook his head, “Come on Emma. Do I look like a serial killer to you?"

I glanced over him.

Well, he definitely looks like a human.

I nodded, “Okay but only for tonight. I have work in the morning.”
