Falling For His Unwanted Wife by Miss Cloe -
Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Alaric’s POV
I never expected my own rules to come back and bite me. Farren was right. I had told her not to méddle in each other’s affairs and that we should only act like a real married. couple in public. However, I acted strangely before because I was genuinely concerned about her.
It hurt me to see the wound on her hand and how she pretended everything was okay.
Not only did she choose to hide the truth from me, but she even borrowed someone else’s ca
instead of asking for my help.
Initially, I thought my ego was the reason I felt this way. But Farren said something that might answer some of my questions.
[“Isn’t it normal for things to break?“]
When she said that, I realized that what Farren broke wasn’t my ego.
but my heart.
The way she acted so distant and indifferent when I tried to help her with her injury truly crushed me.
“Me? Alaric Ford?” I scoffed, unable to believe what I was thinking.
I rubbed my temples and let out a heavy sigh.
She said breaking is just a natural part of life. I’ll think of this as a natural phenomenon, too.” As I said that, my secretary entered my office.
“Sir,” Alejandro began, “Your men roughed up Eugene.”
I nodded in agreement. He deserved to be punished for laying a hand on my wife.
“Don’t you want to see him?” “my secretary asked.
“Nah, I don’t want to witness any messy scenes. Besides, he’s still alive, isn’t he?”
“Yes, Boss. We made sure to handle him in a restrained manner.”
Restrained? Ha! If I were there, I don’t think I could control myself. How dare he harm my wife.
“Great. Give him money after this. His mother is in the hospital,” I said.

He gave me a skeptical look, clearly surprised by my decision. However, he didn’t question me right away. Instead, he remarked, “I didn’t realize you were so merciful, Sir.”
“Yeah, me neither, I replied only in my head, acknowledging the irony of my

actions.
Having worked for me for years, Alejandro knew that I wasn’t usually one to show empathy towards wrongdoers. But in this case, I wanted to honor my wife’s wishes of sparing Eugene due to his mother’s illness..
Seriously. I kept on breaking my rules and regulations because of my wife.
Changing the subject, I asked Alejandro, “Did he confess?”
“Yes!” he exclaimed. “He revealed the person who hired him to stalk Miss Farren and scare her. He even shared the motive behind it.”
“Who was it?”
Alejandro paused for a moment before he answered, “It was your wife’s stepmother, Julie Daughtler.”
I know that my wife has a stepfamily. She has a father who left her and went together with his mistress. But I couldn’t understand why her stepmother would resort to this d*rty tactic.
“Why did her stepmother do this?” I tossed a question.
“Sir, you shouldn’t be shocked,” Alejandro gave me a head–up. “When we investigate your future bride, we learn that her Grandfather is friends with your Grandfather. But we didn’t get enough information about Ma’am Farren’s Grandfather. Actually, it seemed that the information was deliberately hidden.”
“Because? Is her Grandfather holding a deep secret?”
“According to Eugene, Farren’s Grandfather is so rich. He left a huge amount of inheritance for Farren.”
My eyes widened at the revelation.
My wife, whom I thought came from a simple family, turned out to be a hidden heiress.
“Due to this situation, Farren’s stepfamily was pressuring her to hand over her money. However, the deceased elderly man had already cut ties with his son a while back and had left a will stating that all of his money should only go to Farren. That’s the reason

why Farren was being subjected to bullying and harassment from her stepmother and father. I even heard that her father went as far as visiting her at her workplace and creating chaos.”
Hah. I scoffed in disbelief.
I didn’t know that my wife hid so much from me.
“Now I get it. Why she doesn’t want to spend my money. Because she’s loaded,” I murmured to myself.
“What is your plan, Sir?” Alejandro asked.
My plan?
I had this burning desire to confront Farren’s family. It’s infuriating that they had the audacity to ask for money after everything they put her through.
But if I were to act on that impulse, it might come across as prying into Farren’s personal affairs.
“Just leave me alone,” I told them. “I’ll think about it.”
“Alright, Sir.”
Throughout the night, I couldn’t stop thinking about Farren’s stepfamily. How could I possibly get back at them?
But no matter how hard I racked my brain, I couldn’t come up with a plan.
It was nearly 1 am when I finally arrived home. Farren’s car, the one she borrowed from her friend’s brother, was parked in the garage. As I entered the house, only the kitchen light was on.
Could she be in there?
I cautiously made my way towards the kitchen, unsure of why I was even going there or why I was trying so hard to be quiet.
However, as I entered the kitchen and found it empty, a sense of disappointment washed over me.
Did I secretly hope that Farren would be there to greet me?
I scoffed at the absurdity of that thought.

Just as I was about to leave the kitchen, something caught my eye. It was a beautifully crafted envelope discarded in the trash.
Curiosity piqued, I approached the open bin and squinted to read the name of the sender.
[“From James Daughter“]..
He is Farren’s father.
“Just what did he send that his daughter throws his mail in the bin?”
I swore not to butt in Farren’s business. But this time, I will cross the line.
I put on some rubber gloves and fished the letter out of the trash. As I unfolded it, the words came into view.
[“There’s going to be a party at the house. If you want to collect your mother’s remains, come to the party.”]
A mischievous grin spread across my face as I read the message.
“The perfect opportunity has presented itself,” I whispered, feeling a sense of satisfaction.
