Fated To The Lycan Brothers -
Chapter 101
Suri Nightingale
"This one or this one?" I asked Elle in a video call, waving two different outfits in front of her.
First outfit was a white crop top and a striped yellow skirt. The second one was a pink and yellow bustier top paired with white baggy jeans. "I think-"
"Oh, no, wait, what about this? I think this one fits me better. I've been digging the whole all white look lately. What do you think?" I grabbed another fit hanging in my closet and showed it to her.
This one was a white linen-cotton cropped vest with the same cloth used for the pants.
Elle was about to say something again, but my eyes drifted off to another outfit that was all pink with a low rise skirt.
"Wait, oh my god, I can't forget about this one. I think it's sup-"
"Suri!" Elle called out, making me glance back at the phone and I saw her glaring at me with her hands on her hips like an unamused mom.
"What? What did I do?" I asked with a frown.
"You've been shoving outfits in front of my face for twenty minutes now and you haven't decided on anything! Honestly, you could wear a freaking chicken suit and the brothers would drool over you all the same." She said with a teasing smirk and she may or may not be right.
Even if she is right, I can't help but overthink about what I'm going to wear. Plus, it's not just about the brothers. It's mostly about how I'm going to look like to the outside world, too, since it will be my first 'appearance' again after two weeks.
Last night during dinner and after the whole... thing in the cinema with the brothers, we managed to convince Keith to let me join Dev's first swimming competition for the school year.
All three brothers joined forces to get Keith to agree and eventually, he did. As long as neither of them took their eyes off of me. It felt weird being so 'special' that I needed their protection.
The independent side of me was irked that none of them believed I would be fine on my own, like come on, I was completely alone for months, moving from town to town to keep a low profile.
But the softer and probably more logical side of me knew that whatever it is that we were staying or hiding away from was something much bigger than me and I needed to listen to those who know more about this than I do.
"Go with the white crop top and yellow skirt. It shows off your abs and your toned legs," Elle adds with a wink, making my cheeks blush.
"Thank you, Elle. I'm so bummed out I won't see you later, but I'm happy you're enjoying touring your Prince around town." I told her and speaking of, there's a knock on the door and her Prince Charming comes dashing in wearing an all white suit. He really does look straight out of a fairytale book.
"Hey, Princess, I finished my meeting with the Windsor staff back home. I'm ready when you are," he tells her before he sees me on the phone screen. "Oh, hello, Suri." He takes a millisecond to see the outfits hanging behind me before pointing out the one on my left. "That one."
It's the exact one Elle just picked. These two are really meant to be.
Elle giggles, her cheeks fully turning pink and it's like she glows when he looks at him. "You have good taste, Prince Edward."
Edward turns to her, all shimmering blue eyes, before he says, "I certainly do."
They look like they're about to make out with each other and I cut them off. "Alrighty then, that's my cue to go! Thank you for the help, Elle and Edward. Have fun with all your... adventures." I teased them and hung up before they could tease me back.
I have learned over the past weeks when I've been texting and calling the girls that Edward was like the male version of Elle - very elegantly royal when he needs to be, but chaotic when not. I loved that she found someone like him.
I let out a deep breath before walking over to the mirror and looking at myself with the outfit over my body. I smiled when my eyes landed on my neck.
The mark is technically no longer there, but I can still feel it. It lingers in my blood, coursing through my veins, and I feel tingles all over my body every time I think about that intimate moment between the three of us.
It's crazy to me that just a few months ago, I felt so alone, now I had three boys who loved me with their whole hearts, and a man who considered me to be his own daughter. My life couldn't be anymore perfect.
Well... once I mark the brothers, too, then it can really be perfect. I'm just... not sure how I'm supposed to go about it though, so I have been a little hesitant. Aurora has told me that there was nothing to worry about and it was normal, as well as the brothers reassuring me that they can wait for when I'm ready.
I don't know what 'ready' means for me, but I hope it happens soon.
A knock on the door pulled me away from my thoughts and I heard Atlas call out for me on the other side.
"Baby? Are you ready? We're leaving in like ten." He informed me.
"Ah, wait! Dressing up! Be down in a minute." I quickly grabbed the clothes and was rushing to put them on.
"What if you unlock this door and we can have a little fun for nine minutes?"
My cheeks flushed red before shouting, "Atlas!"
Oh my god, these boys were unstoppable, but then again, it's not like I wasn't also slightly elated by their comments here and there. The excitement they make me feel every time they are around is astonishing and I just know no matter how much time passes, it will always seem like the first time with them.
I heard Atlas let out a soft chuckle and the sound reached my stomach, making me smile, too.
"Alright, alright. I'll let you get ready, but don't think you're getting away that easily. We're having a victory party later, and you're the main course." He says, smooth like butter.
God, talk about irresistible.
Once I was fully clothed, giving myself one last glance, I let out an exhale and walked over to my door, opening it to a dashing Atlas in, surprisingly, white fitted polo shirt and ripped denim jeans. Not a single black clothing in sight. Who is he and what has he done to Atlas 'I only wear black clothes' Wolfe?
He must have noticed the amusement and confusion at seeing him because he says, "I decided to add a few colors in my closet. You like it?"
My smile is ear to ear. "I love it."
He licked his lips before leaning closer to me, his lips barely an inch away that his warm breath on mine already has my heart thumping fast.
"Good. I'll love it when you take it off me later, though." He whispered and just when I thought he was going to kiss me, he pulled away and shot me a smirk.
God damn tease!
I cleared my throat and pretended to not have been affected by it, crossing my arms in front of my chest.
"And what makes you so sure Dev is going to win?" I asked, as a joke, of course.
"Come on, babe. Did you forget? It's Dev we're talking about here." Atlas says with the sexiest confident smirk that makes me want to smother him with kisses, but other than that, well, his statement couldn't be anymore correct. Because less than an hour later, we're seated at the front of the swimming pool bleachers, screaming our lungs out cheering for Dev who is dominating the pool without even breaking a sweat.
Ha. I just made a dad joke. Keith would be so proud of me, but he's too busy both cheering on Dev at the side and talking to the headmistress. I swear those two got something going on.
"Wolfe! Wolfe! Wolfe!" The crowd chants his name and the energy is insane and completely infectious.
I can't stop smiling that my cheeks are beginning to hurt, but I don't care, because this right here.
Watching Dev doing what he loves the most. Atlas and Wes sitting right beside me, their presence protective and caring at the same time. Keith smiling from afar. Polly and Ariana giggling behind me.
This is a memory I will certainly replay over and over again. I only wish there was a way to stay in it for longer.
But alas, time is something we can never control and once Dev has pretty much cleared the entire category of every damn swimming category there is, he gets his medals and we're all whooping and cheering like he's won the Olympics. Though knowing Dev, I highly doubt that it would be hard for him to achieve that kind of win, too.
My thoughts are completely interrupted when I hear way too loud whispers behind me, and I know it's not Polly and Ariana because they had to go home right after, unfortunately.
"He is just so hot, isn't he? Ugh, the things I'd let him do to me." "Right? It's not just the water getting me wet."
What the fuck? I am certain they know they can hear me, and honestly, it's like they want me to hear it.
I can't blame them. Dev really is the searingly hot and drop dead gorgeous man that he is, but he is my man, so I'll be damned if I let anyone drool over him besides me.
My head snapped towards their directions and all it takes is a very terrifying death glare for them to scurry away like the roaches that they were.
"Possessive, aren't we?" Wes comments as his warm hand touches my thighs, gripping it and making me flush red.
Jesus, just one touch and I'm dying over here. This mate bond has taken over me and well, it's not like I mind. Except for when we're in public because I don't need others seeing me melt at one touch.
I feel Atlas' arm snake around my waist, pulling me closer to him, but Wes keeps his grip on my thigh, forcing me to spread it open and oh my god, can these boys relax?
They both paused as if they're talking in their heads and when I turned to the podium where Dev was getting honored for his wins, he's looking straight at us, lust circling his eyes.
"Dev says he likes the view, but if we want to keep our hands, you should keep your legs closed because he doesn't want others seeing what's ours," Wes tells me as he leaned closer to my side.
I knew they were talking to each other. It's funny how I can distinguish that now, and apparently I can do it, too, eventually. After, you know, I mark them back.
"Smug a*****e," Atlas snorts before pushing my legs closed, but he takes me by surprise when he turns to face me, cups my face with his left hand and kisses me with fucking tongue right in front of everyone.
Sweet merciful lord, there goes our attempts to try and 'conceal' our interesting relationship status.
When Atlas pulls away, I lock eyes with Dev who looks like he's ready to smack both Atlas and my a*s because to him, that public display of affection was hot.
Wes, being competitive, makes my whole body shudder when he licks the tip of my ear and whispers, "I can't wait to get home and fuck you like we did yesterday, angel."
I swear I feel the eyes of every girl-and some boys-stare into my soul with jealousy.
Thankfully, a familiar face comes up and pulls me away from further antics by the brothers.
"Suri!" Maria greeted me with a broad smile. "Oh, it's been so long. The café is just not the same without your cheerful presence."
I quickly stood up and gave Maria a hug. Universe knows I've missed her. "How are things over there?"
She smiles wearily. "Oh, the usual." Then her face lights up in excitement. "I've been making new recipes and you know that cookie s'mores you love so much? I made a special white chocolate version and I'm naming it after you! It's going to be Suri's special." She shares and I squeal at it.
"Oh my gosh, no way! That-wow, that is so cool. You didn't have to!"
"Nonsense. You gave me the idea. I would really love for you to try it, though. Are you free now or are you busy with..." She tilted her head, glancing at both brothers and it's obvious she knows that something is up, but she's clearly happy for me. "I would love to!" I say out of excitement, but Atlas drives my attention back to him.
"What?" I asked, completely unaware.
Atlas cleared his throat and gave me a forced smile. "Did you forget what Keith said? Our schedule is... tight."
Oh, fuck. Right. The stupid protection thing. Ugh.
"Really? I mean, I'm sure we can squeeze in this one thing. It's just for like, what, ten minutes? Come on, one of you guys can go with me. I really want to try this cookie! Pretty pleaaaase."
I pleaded with the brothers for what felt like minutes until they finally caved.
"I'll be right behind you since I brought my car then Atlas and Dev can meet us at the café right after Dev is finished. Alright?" Wes exclaimed and I squealed before giving them both a hug. "Thank you, thank you!"
Not five minutes later, I'm seated at the front seat of Maria's car while we chat nonstop about what she's been up to and how everything is at the café.
She says she's been thinking of renovating and making it bigger. Ever since Wes started to come in and help, more customers have started to promote the place and I can't help but be excited for her. I'll have to thank Wes later.
"We've had a new loyal customer about two weeks ago, too. I have never seen him around here before so I think he is from out of town. Very quiet and orders the same thing everyday - a matcha latte and a chocolate waffle. The first day he came in, he asked if I had an assistant working with me, but you weren't working with us anymore so I told him you were on a break. Maybe he wants to take your role away from you." Maria shared and I laughed with her, but there was a weird feeling in my gut that rose out of nowhere. I don't know what it is, but it just felt... odd.
As we were passing by the usually empty corner in the road to get to the central street, three black cars had blocked our path and that was when I was completely submerged in panic. What the fuck was going on?
Maria began to honk at the cars, but they were completely unmoving. When I turned around to see where Wes was, there were two cars going fast, way too fast and
OH MY GOD! THEY HIT WES' CAR!
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
What the fuck is happening?!
A scream ripped out of my lungs when the car door was yanked open and I was dragged painfully by arm out of the car and onto the ground.
The last thing I heard was Maria screaming before I felt a prick in my skin like I was injected with something and then I completely blacked out.
