Suri Nightingale

I was still a little breathless after my encounter with the Greek god whose name I assume is Devon. I was left to wonder, if the youngest brother looked that good then does that mean every one of them did too? Oh God. How am I supposed to act calm and collected around these guys?

I placed my hand on my chest, feeling my fast-beating heart, and closed my eyes while taking deep inhales and exhales.

"You're going to be just fine, Suri. Absolutely peachy. They're just like normal people except probably with chiseled bodies, strong jaws, beautiful eyes, and a masterpiece to behold underneath their shorts." I let out a defeated sigh. "Totally and absolutely normal." I lied to myself.

I almost had a heart attack when I heard knocks on my door, pulling me out of my thoughts, and thrusting me into panic.

Could this be him?! Did he see me and had come up to my room to scold me for watching him against his will? s**t, s**t, shit.

"Ms. Suri?"

My panic subsided in seconds when the female voice sounded off and unless they had pretty girly and high-pitched sounding voices, I'm sure whoever is on that other side of the door is not them.

I scrambled up to my feet and walked over to the door, opening it just a little.

"Good morning, Ms. Suri." Lucy's face greets me with a smile and boy, am I glad to see her.

"Breakfast is ready. Sir Keith said to call you and bring you over to the pool lounge since you aren't familiar with how to get there yet."

I blinked at her, confused. "Pool lounge?"

She nodded and I was going to ask her more about what in the world that even is, but decided on just replaceing out on my own, but after I splash some water on my face and change into something else less... dark?

If I even own anything that fits a place like this, which I likely do not, but I can try.

"Hold on. I need to wash up real quick, and uh, would you probably have something to wear that you can lend me? I know that's a weird question, but I don't really have a lot of extra clothes, much less something that fits this place and, yeah, okay I'll stop rambling now, never mind, what am I even saying? Pretend I didn't ask any of that." I let out an awkward chuckle, trying to mask how stupid I felt asking a helper for her clothes.

Not that I had anything against her work-believe me I've been in her shoes-it's just, why would she lend me her clothes? Stupid.

Lucy looked at me unsure before saying, "Ms. Suri, you have all the clothes that you need." "Huh?"

"You haven't seen your closet then? Sir Keith had brought designers a few weeks ago and they filled up your closet with everything that a teenage girl could need. You should look for yourself. I'll wait out here until you're ready." She gives me a warm smile before closing the door.

Confused, but curious, I looked around the room for said closet, but didn't replace anything that could be considered one. Where the frick are all the closets in this room?

I took in my surroundings for a quick second and realized how everything is made for, in Lucy's words, a teenage girl. Blush pink and rose gold tones are everywhere as well as everything ruffled. On the ceiling, a smaller chandelier dangles like it's made for a five star hotel.

I wouldn't doubt if it did come from one.

I let out a sigh of disbelief. I can't believe this is my room now, or the fact that I don't have to pay to live in something so grand because no way in hell could I even afford any of this.

I shook my head, bringing me back to reality. Closet. Right. I need to replace one.

That's when I spotted a blush pink door at the side of the room and when I opened it, my mouth fell to the floor. This cannot be real.

A walk-in closet as big as an apartment greets me. It's filled with everything - clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, and even wigs. Why did Keith think I would need a wig? I don't know and I can't really think about that right now because I'm too busy staring at everything in awe.

These must have cost a fortune. Like, not a few hundred dollars, but hundreds and thousands.

And though most of the clothes aren't exactly my style since I've never worn anything remotely close to demure, after I washed my face for a quick second, I ended up going for a purplish pink blousy linen dress. It felt comfortable enough as it covered most of my body and right now, that's all I wanted.

I didn't want to expose myself, especially not around insanely attractive guys like the brothers.

"Oh, great. You're ready." Lucy smiled at me as I opened the door and then her eyes scanned me from head to toe.

"You found the closet then."

I smiled shyly before nodding.

"It looks good on you. A lovely choice." She says and I relax a little.

We walk out into the hallway and my eyes inadvertently glance towards the other door and the only other occupied room, according to Lucy. Atlas' room.

I get nervous thinking I might meet him later then I think to myself, well, at least he's not the one who saw me gawking at him. I'll have to make up some kind of excuse for Devon if he brings it up later, which I hope to God he doesn't.

When we get downstairs, my hands start to feel clammy, but nonetheless I continue to follow Lucy. We pass by a lot of hallways, expensive decorations, and then finally, she stops in front of a tall glass door and from there I can already see the pool inside. They have an outdoor pool and an indoor pool? Holy s**t, I guess they really like swimming, huh?

"Have a good breakfast, Ms. Suri." Lucy gives me a quick bow before opening the door then turning away.

Half of me wants to ask her to stay, but I know that's freaking weird, so I woman up, straightened my back, and upped my chin.

You can do this, Suri.

The second I stepped in, I realized what a pool lounge is.

High ceilings, walls of windows and a trio of skylights bathe the very inviting pool in natural light. It's lined with palm trees and spherical topiaries, making you feel like you've been transported to Beverly Hills. Yet another unrealistic place for me to ever be in. There's a hot tub, too, and it flows seamlessly into the main swimming area.

Damn, I wouldn't mind a swim right about now. Just when I was being sucked into the water, I heard my name get called.

"Suri, good morning." I turned and saw Keith, all smiles and it seemed like he had a good night's rest.

He was wearing slightly loose white long sleeves, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, gray pants, and then loafers in a darker gray color. This is a rich man's outfit.

"Were you able to sleep alright?" He asked as he gestured for me to follow him to the side of the pool where there are chairs around a table filled with all kinds of breakfast food.

Slept alright, he asked. I was tempted to tell him that I've never slept on a real bed most of my life so of course I slept like a freaking baby.

"Yeah, I slept well." Instead I opted for a more formal response.

"That's good to hear," he smiles at me before we sit down by the food and my stomach is begging for me to eat everything. I internally shout at it to calm the f**k down.

"Go ahead, Suri. Eat as much as you want. It's all for you." Keith waved his hand to the food and it didn't take me a second to do exactly as he said.

I'm grabbing croissants, bacon, waffles, eggs, left and right and filling my plate with it. I've never seen so much breakfast food, not even in his private jet, and I am overwhelmed but enjoying it at the same time. "When did we allow the helpers to finish food that's not theirs?"

The words are so crude that it makes me feel embarrassed, but the voice is so smooth and deep that it also makes my cheeks blush and not because of said embarrassment.

And oddly enough, it sounded somewhat familiar. Or maybe I was just imagining things.

He sounded sexy as hell, but I can only guess how spoiled someone is to degrade a helper like that. I wonder which one of the brothers he-

"Atlas," Keith said with a stern tone. "Mind your manners."

My eyes glanced towards Keith who was in front of me. His eyes were looking at the man behind me in a threatening way, but he was still trying to control himself.

So I guess this asshole was Atlas. My bedroom neighbor. Great.

"Sit down, please." Keith says, this time in a friendlier tone.

"I would rather not sit with a pig," Atlas sneered at me and at that point I couldn't hold back anymore.

I know this is their house and I was just this stranger that appeared out of nowhere, but to talk to a person you barely even knew like that. Yeah, he needed to get put in place.

I pushed back the chair and turned around so I could face him.

"Look, buddy, I-"

Oh, fuck. You have got to be kidding me. This... this was Atlas?! I... I thought this was Devon?!

Black hair. Gray eyes. Strong jaw.

This was the boy I saw by the pool earlier. The boy who may or may not have seen me staring at him and his... bulge. His presence is electrifying that all the words I was meant to say just flew out of my head. "Are you done gawking at me, freak?"

Oh, this piece of-

"Atlas Wolfe!" Keith's words roared in the seemingly peaceful lounge. Yeah, he was pissed-pissed. "You will sit down and greet Suri like a civilized human being or so help me God, I will take away all your privileges for three days-no, for a week." His privileges? What? Videogames and cars? And did he say Atlas Wolfe? Wasn't their last name Whitford? I then remembered the 'WW' on their black gate at the entrance. Maybe that's what it meant.

Atlas let out a bitter scoff before rolling his eyes and taking a seat-the farthest one from me-and directing a smirk towards my direction.

As pissed I was at him for being so mean, I couldn't help but admire him entirely.

The bone structure of his face is impeccable. The look in his light gray eyes is so intense that it feels like he's hypnotizing me without even saying a word. His dark black hair is still wet, drops of pool water falling to his cheeks, down to his neck, then further to his chest... and down... and down...

"The only uncivilized human being here is Suri and how she can't seem to take her eyes away from me. Isn't that right, balcony pervert?" His words were like an ice bucket thrown at me and I am immediately brought back to the present. f**k. s**t. Damn him and his incredible looks because as much as I wanted to deny his claims, they were annoyingly true. Except for the pervert part. I am not anywhere near that.

I know I should be distracted by the fact that he called me that, but my brain can't stop repeating the way he said my name. I didn't think I would like my name that much until he said it.

Wait, what the f**k? What the hell am I thinking? Stop it!

"Enough, Atlas." Keith said with a restrained temper in his voice. "Can't we all just have a good first breakfast with each other? Where is Wes and Devon?"

Wes and Devon. The other brothers.

I'm internally praising the universe that they're not here because if this one guy, Atlas, is already treating me like s**t, then I wonder what the other two would do to me.

Atlas grabbed a piece of bacon with his hand and waved it without a care in the world. "Devon is coming back from a morning run." He says before taking a bite and I gulped at the sight of his mouth crunching on that bacon.

He looks like he's in front of a camera and someone is filming a bacon commercial and the freaking concept is 'Hot Topless Male Eating a Juicy Bacon Almost as Juicy as Him'.

He finishes the piece before speaking up again. "Wes, well, that I'm not so sure. Probably f*****g someone in his room."

I accidentally got a piece of croissant lodged in my throat and started coughing like I was dying. Keith worriedly passes me a glass of water and I chug it until I feel better.

"Thank you," I mumbled to him and he gave me a small smile.

"What's the matter, little sis? Don't you know what 'f u c k' means?" His smirk widened and something underneath me ached as he said the word 'fuck' and stared into my eyes intensely.

"I'd be happy to show-"

He doesn't get to finish what he was saying-though I have a strong sense of what it was going to be-when Keith stands up looking even more pissed.

"That's it, Atlas! One week! I'm having Lucy take your car keys and you are not allowed to drink during the fourth of July party!" He shouts at the boy who looked like he could care less.

Atlas shakes his head as he gets up from his seat too. His still wet body is on full display and I have to force myself not to stare too hard or he'll tease me about it again, or worse, he'll call me a freaking pervert. "Whatever. See if I care."

This guy is unbelievable. He really doesn't care about anyone or anything besides himself.

Keith looked like he was going to scold him again, but his phone rang and by the looks of it, it must be important because he looks torn on whether or not he should answer it.

"We are not done here," he tells Atlas as he pointed his finger at him.

He then turned to me with a softer expression. "I'm sorry, and you should continue eating. I need to take this call."

"It's okay," I reassured him and then seconds later, he was gone.

And I was alone.

With him.

Thankfully, he doesn't seem to want to stick around any longer either because he started walking away.

But just before he completely passed me, I froze when I felt his presence right behind my back and then his warm breath was on my neck.

Oh my God. He smells amazing.

I swallowed the huge lump in my throat just as I felt him go closer to me.

in."

I barely had time to process anything when his lips moved close to my ear and he whispered, "Like I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted, I'd be more than happy to show you what fu c k is, little sis. My room is right in front of yours. Feel free to barge right My entire body shuddered at the feeling of his wet lips that brushed past the tip of my ears and just as I managed to recompose myself and turn around, Atlas was already gone.

But my heart continued to beat wildly.

I let out a nervous exhale before chugging the glass of water and even after, the thirst I was feeling didn't seem to be quenched at all.

I have a strong feeling it was because this thirst was nothing related to water...

But for a certain someone.
