Fentanyl E001: The Mysterious Experiment(Book 1)
Chapter 24: Sibling's Revelation

December 21, 20**

Nisha's Point of View

I don't want to get out of bed. As I lay there, I realized that the war would be here before I knew it. I got up and went to the terrace, deep in thought once more. I pictured the battleground, imagining that everyone would be quarreling. I felt terrified, fearing the possibility of losing lives once more. But I also understood that laying down one's life in war is natural. We are in the midst of a conflict, and death is unavoidable.

I drew a long breath in, trying to steady myself. When I looked down from the terrace, I noticed Shione's guys hard at work, preparing for the upcoming battle. I observed someone training, and it seemed like they were all doing their best. I knew that our fight wasn't just for myself; it was also for those who needed help and their families.

"Nisha," Tita Asuncion's voice was heard. Since I rescued her, we haven't spoken much. We didn't have enough time to catch up, but I wasn't in the mood to undertake any workout right now. Somehow, without her guidance, I felt capable of fighting.

I didn't look back and kept my gaze fixed on the ground. I heard her footsteps and saw her in my peripheral vision, standing next to me. So, I just gave in and let her speak.

"I was quite concerned about Shawn's safety when he was younger. I'm willing to take chances and make self-sacrifices. It's just that we don't have any other option except to abandon him. I assumed he'd be protected, but I was mistaken," she stated.

"There's no such thing as a safe haven out there. In various ways, everyone is a traitor. He's a terrific traitor, like my father Truce, but not in a terrible sense," I replied.

"You're right," she said after pausing for a moment and sighed heavily, as if she'd been carrying something heavy for a long time. But I can't say I blame her. "Yes, I'm putting in too much effort. My thoughts were on my son and daughter when Mr. Shon took us. But I had faith in Scarlette to save Shawn, and I was correct," It felt like something was caught in my throat when she said those words. I was the cause of her daughter's death, but I didn't believe I was being held responsible.

It is said that fate is to blame for what is taking place. Should I place blame on fate? Mentally, I shook my head. That is not the fault of anyone. It is impossible to make amends for anything that occurs. We're simply a byproduct of people's evil, and then we become victims. I'll never be bold unless I face those challenges. And unless it happens to me, I'll never understand them. It is stated that if you are truly who you say you are, those who love you will accept you.

"I am quite grateful that you are rescuing me. Always keep in mind that everything happens for a purpose. We'll never hold anything against you. I want to fight for my husband and son's safety," she said, looking at me as she spoke. Her eyes were blurry, and she seemed distant.

I couldn't help but be taken aback by her unexpected actions when I looked at her closely. She seemed okay, and there was no Fentanyl in her system. I couldn't see what she was thinking since my eyes were covered by artificial peepers. However, I could still read her thoughts. She was considering how she would fight if she's still feeling weak.

As she abruptly turned to face me, I remarked, "You're not weak." She responded with a smile. "You're a formidable woman. A courageous mother who is willing to go to any length for her children," I said, but was taken aback when she drew me into a hug tightly.

"Shawn is correct. You aren't a monster in the least. Thank you for being a part of our lives. I'm sure my son adores you, and I'll never question why he selected you," It made my heart melt. I returned her hug and smiled warmly.

Someone feigned a cough, and we separated. We both turned to the door and found Rebecca standing there, her face solemn.

"Tita, Tito Shione was looking for you," when Rebecca stated that, I noticed Tita Asuncion nodding. She grinned again as she turned to face me. As she walked away, I simply followed her with my gaze. Rebecca was the only one I had. Now, she's facing my back after I turn around.

I heard her footsteps approaching me. And, like Aunt Asuncion, she stood by my side. We were both silent, and I had no intention of interrupting it.

She said, "I'm sorry," but I didn't respond. I was preoccupied with calming the air around me. "I'm sorry for being such a bitch in the past. I did it for a reason," she stated.

"What exactly do you mean?" I inquired, and I didn't mind staring at her in return.

"True, I enjoy Shawn's company. But I have no intention of winning him. I've known he loves you since the beginning. When the five of us were together, there was no way he could avoid mentioning your name. 'How's Nisha?' he always asks Nathalie. 'Can I have a look at her?' 'I was missing her.'"

I'm at a loss for words. I've known Shawn loves me for a long time, but hearing that he constantly mentions me leaves me astonished.

"As a result, he leaped out of your room with delight when he saw you at the dinner table. I was simply teasing you since I'm curious about your ability to have Fentanyl as well. And once I had the answers, I came to a halt. You heard me call you a whore, and now it's my turn to treat you kindly," she added. I simply let her talk, and I am not angry with her. This isn't a major issue. I can't say I blame her for that. Shawn has a nice demeanor and is a person who is easy to get along with. Even I think he's attractive in his own right.

"I just want to express my regret. I'm afraid I'm going to perish in the upcoming conflict. Like you, I'm going to fight for those who require assistance and justice. I'm not the type to hide myself in a room because I'm afraid of fighting," she said, and as she said that, I shook my head.

"Nobody will perish. I guarantee it," I responded.

"It's time for me to get going. That's why I came here in the first place. I've taken advantage of the fact that you're free by apologizing. Shawn cares about you and is willing to defend you. I'm hoping you'll treat him the same way," she said, and I just gave a small nod.

After she tapped my shoulder, I sensed she was leaving my side and turning around. I drew a long breath in. I'm not sure how many times this has happened to me, but I have the feeling that something is clogging my throat.

"Nisha!" A familiar voice has been heard. I didn't think twice about taking a look below. I also saw Nathalie and her family, as well as Shawn. She's waving at me, and I'm waving back with a grin on my face. I blushed when I noticed Shawn's wink at me. "Man, you're a jerk," I thought, and when he read my thoughts, he laughed.

When I didn't think it was essential, I opened my thoughts when I didn't think they were part of the plan. I still want to be open with Shawn, and I just want him to be aware of what's going on in my head.

"Go to your room," Shawn's voice in my head said, startling me.

I didn't hesitate to obey him and didn't think twice about it. Before turning back and returning to my room, I took another look at them. They appeared to have completed their training.

When I arrived in my room, I sat on my bed, waiting for Shawn. When I heard his footsteps approaching, I felt a surge of exhilaration. Finally, I'm able to hug him!

When the door opened, I saw Shawn smirking, going through my thoughts once again.

"Is all you're going to do is hug me? You are free to rape me," he teased, and as I watched him wink once more, I rolled my eyes. When he sees my reaction, he grinned ear to ear. He moved straight towards me, and I could hear my heart racing. I'm completely smitten! As soon as he got close to me, he hugged me.

"I miss you," I hugged him back, and we both felt the same way. I could sense his feelings, to be sure. It's all about love, and I'm experiencing the same emotions that he is.

"I'm drowsy," I mumbled, as he continued to embrace me.

"Sleep. I'm planning to stay here for a while. You'll need to replenish your energy. There are only four days until the conflict begins," he responded.

He released me from the hug and helped me lie down. He sat down next to me and threw his arm around my waist without hesitation. He kissed my forehead before gently stroking my stomach.

I just lay there, staring at the ceiling, feeling Shawn's breath on my neck. When I looked at him and saw him sleeping soundly, I couldn't help but laugh. He's had enough of it. Instead of disturbing him, I closed my eyes.

I had no idea I had fallen asleep and awoke in a familiar environment.

I was wandering around when my sight was drawn to someone. I'm facing him with my back to him, and he's simply standing there.

When I spotted a shuriken coming his way, my eyes grew larger.

"Run!" As he stared at me, he roared. To evade the shuriken, he simply leaped. But I didn't move; I was frozen in shock. He quickly grabbed me and pulled me away from the path of a man dressed as a ninja. The man attacking us was skilled, continuously leaping from tree to tree in pursuit. We were being chased relentlessly. I turned to face the man who was dragging me behind him. He had bruises all over his face, was wearing a cap, and was dressed entirely in black. He appeared to be a thief from the looks of it.

"Stop gazing at me! Nisha, get out of here!" Because of his shout, I was pulled back to reality.

Something seemed to be approaching me. He yanked me out, and the knife that was supposed to be mine was strewn on the floor.

"Why have you taken on the role of my sister? Wasn't it true that you knew how to fight?" he questioned.

I was taken aback by what I heard.

"Yes, you are correct; I am your sibling. Tssss," he added.

I have a sibling!?
