Figment of Dreams
Chapter 36: Sebastian

Rivellin City Centre was buzzing on a Saturday afternoon with Rainers. Sky and I were doing some shopping. I still felt bad about all the money Maddox was putting into my account each week. I can’t believe all the Runars, I had looked it up and it was almost enough for me to buy myself a small house and a car. I needed to replace myself a job and work for my own money.

‘Little bird.’ I stopped dead in my tracks. Not him again. I had spent two hours yesterday in science class with him and that had been more than enough ‘Sebastian time’ for an entire week. Sky was on her Telvice telling Olive to join us at the shopping street because we were going to buy matching dresses.

‘Nope.’ I put out my hand to stop him. ’There will be no little birding today.’

He chuckled and put his hands in his pant pockets. He was back to his eclectic style today. He was wearing a very loose and wide white shirt, of course with opened buttons and lots of gold chains dangling on his ribcage. He had a black skinny jeans on, with holes on the knees and some very eclectic red sneakers with chunky soles. His nails were painted black. His hair was a little shorter and looked like he got back from the hairdressers. A side parted look, which made his curls fall in a curtain like way to the side of his face. ‘I would love some little birding today though.’ He drawled.

He made everything sound dirty.

‘Where is your girlfriend?’ I bit back.

‘Oh Mel, she’s still at the hairdressers. We got a couple appointment but I ran out of there as soon as I was done.’ He glanced at Sky. ‘Want to ditch that one and go day drinking, love?’

’I’m sure Melixes would love that.’ I’m not even sure why he was asking me this. We weren’t friends. Like at all.

‘She’s still in there for the next two hours and Sky wouldn’t mind.’

‘Wouldn’t mind what?’ Sky dropped her Telvice in her designer clutch and raised her eyebrows at us. It was then I realised we were standing way too close to each other so I stepped back from Sebastian with a quick hop.

‘That I tag along for the next few hours. We do a little shopping and a little drinking.’ He made a grand gesture with his hand as if the drinking part was no big deal, but knowing him that would be the biggest part of our day. ‘Like the old days, Sky?’

‘No.’

‘Okay’.

Me and Sky said simultaneously. She raised her shoulders like whatever and I hissed at her. ‘Why?’

Sebastian ignored us both and put his arms out, asking us to put our arms between his so we could walk together. ‘Let us embark on this mission ladies.’ I don’t know why but I did and so did Sky and together we went to the dress shop.

Sebastian put himself on the couch in front of the big mirror and next to the dressing room. ‘Chop chop ladies, let us see some dresses and then get wasted.’

I angrily was putting myself into this black dress, trying to come up with ways to ditch him. I ripped the curtain back and stalked over to the mirror. It looked good on me. Really good. It was a little tight around the chest area, but it was the perfect little black dress.

Sky and Sebastian were both quite. I turned around ready to scowl them both out.

‘That is definitely the one.’ Sky added breathlessly. She was in a white one herself, same model.

Sebastian eyed me up and down. ‘The Rainers are about to implode themselves upon seeing that.’ I rolled my eyes and stalked back into my dressing room.
