Peyton was frantically pulling her own hair, crying out, "This is all your fault, sob sob, our little one would never have turned us in if it weren't for you. Now we're going to jail! What about our kids? You're such a jinx, I'll kill you, I swear I'll kill you!" The police quickly stepped in, separating them as Aisha crumpled to the ground, a complete wreck. She covered her face, hot tears streaming down. She only wished she'd been smarter, that she hadn't fallen into Flora's trap. And now, here she was, in this total mess.

The next day rolled around.

Henrik went to pick up Cecelia to bring her to the Irving family's home. Raul had been up at the crack of dawn to get the groceries and was already in the kitchen, cooking away. The first thing on his list? Flora's favorite garlic butter shrimp and sweet and sour pork ribs. Next up was Cecelia's favorite dishes. But since she was sticking to a low-fat diet, it was a bit tricky to whip up. No worries though, Raul was keen to learn! After all, it was his daughter-in-law's first official visit; he needed to make a good impression. He knew Cecelia had been through a lot, and he felt a soft spot for her.

As for Henrik and Connor, as long as there was food, that was good enough for them. Their likes and dislikes weren't top priority.

Meanwhile, Flora was sprawled on the couch like she owned the place, fiddling with her phone, surrounded by her favorite snacks on the coffee table. Connor had already prepped the fruit for her. In the family group chat, everyone was having a lively chat. "Flora, have you missed us since you've been home?" asked the mom of three.

"Happy New Year's Eve, Flora- Make sure to eat something yummy today!" chimed in gamer Ethan.

After all the warm greetings came a flood of digital red envelopes, all for Flora. They were loaded with amounts like six hundred sixty-six thousand, eight hundred eighty-eight thousand... Flora got tired of tapping, so she decided to let Connor handle it later. "Connor, I'm thirsty-"

Connor was on it in a flash, bringing

her a cup of perfectly warm water. Flora took a sip, satisfied, then handed it back to him. Her freshly moistened lips looked incredibly kissable. Connor snuck a quick glance at the kitchen before leaning down to give Flora a quick kiss, his tongue just grazing hers. He straightened up instantly trying to play it cool as he adjusted his collar. He didn't dare get too bold with Raul nearby, worried his father-in-law might come at him with a spatula.

Flora let out a chuckle, passing him her phone. "Go ahead and collect those red envelopes for me."

...

It was Cecelia's first proper visit to

the Irving home, and to be honest, she was a bundle of nerves. She'd thought about bringing a gift, but Henrik had told her that just showing up was the best gift she could give. So, she just picked up a few token items. Walking into the Irving home with Henrik, her heart was thumping.

Flora, hearing the door, looked over and saw Henrik and Cecelia. She greeted them lazily, "Hey bro, hey sis-in-law-"

"Miss, you look adorable!" Flora had

greeted her this way before, and

Cecelia, familiar with her, felt a little bashful, but not uncomfortable. She noticed Flora's get-up—a frog

pajama set—super cute and nothing

like her usual public persona.

"It's alright," Flora said, adjusting the frog ears on her head.

"Oh, Cecelia's here," Raul poked his head out, all smiles and warmth. "Come on in, have a seat. Dinner's almost ready."

"Can I help with anything?" Cecelia offered, full of respect.

"No need, no need, it's not right to have a guest cook," Raul chuckled softly. "Flora, keep Cecelia company. Henrik, Connor, you two, come lend me a hand."
