Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life -
Chapter 372
Suddenly, Moss and Beck appeared.
Christian froze at the sight of them. Hastily, he stood up, leaning on his cane. "What brings you two here?"
The arrogance in his voice was gone, replaced by a hint of eagerness and caution.
Beck sneered, giving him a disdainful look. "If we hadn't shown up, our boss's fiancée would have been gnawed to the bone by you."
"Whose fiancée?"
Christian was stunned, his eyes scanning the room until they landed on the breathtaking Flora, making his heart skip a beat.
Could the fiancée Rain mentioned be her? But how could a girl from such a modest background be fit for him? He definitely wouldn't go for someone like her!
But then, Moss approached Raul and the others, respectfully addressing them, "Mr. Raul, Mr. Shen, Ms. Flora."
Seeing Moss's respectful stance, Christian's eyes widened. Moss was always that guy's right-hand man, never showing such deference to anyone else.
"Mr. Xavier, our boss is just outside. Would you like to step out and catch up?" Beck's almost-smile sent shivers down Christian's spine.
His grip on the cane tightened as regret washed over him. Who would have thought a University of Maple Grove student would be his fiancée? Out of all the distinguished ladies in Maple Grove, he chose a girl with humble origins.
Christian shut his mouth, took a deep breath, and limped over to Flora. "Ms. Flora, I was a bit over the top just now. I apologize, please don't take it to heart."
Flora blinked, realizing Christian was really scared of Connor. Well, she might as well use her fiancé's influence. She sent a message in the 257 group chat, telling them there was no need to come over.
Seeing Flora's silence, Christian's heart sank. Unwillingly, he swallowed his pride, "I'll make sure Jillian doesn't bother you anymore."
Flora gave a slight smile. Her conflict with Jillian couldn't be described as mere 'trouble.' It was a life-and-death struggle.
"Expel Jillian, and we'll call it even. Otherwise, I can't promise I won't beat her to a pulp next time I see her."
Flora's voice wasn't loud, but it was bold. With Connor backing her up, she had every right to be audacious.
Christian's face turned from pale to purple as he hesitated. If Jillian were expelled, the Grant family would be a laughingstock.
Moss coughed lightly, his demeanor cold. Beck rubbed his wrists, his half-crooked smile sinister.
Christian steeled himself, "I'll arrange for Jillian's withdrawal from school as soon as possible."
Jillian's eyes widened in disbelief. Her father had actually agreed to her withdrawal?
"Dad, what are you saying? Why should I withdraw? It should be Flora!"
"Shut up!" Christian spat through clenched teeth, his heart full of reluctance. But what choice did he have? With Connor backing Flora, he was powerless.
"You can leave now."
Hearing Flora's words, Christian felt a weight lift off his shoulders. He quickly pulled Jillian to leave, but she struggled fiercely.
"Dad, have you lost your mind! How can you not defend me against Flora's bullying and even force me to withdraw? How will the Grant family ever save face?"
