Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life -
Chapter 583
Flora was completely unfazed when Crimson kicked Mr. Atticus and his medical crew out. The medical organization was notorious for getting into trouble. But to rile Crimson up this much? They must've really stepped in it.
That night, the island was hit by a torrential downpour. Mr. Atticus and his team had flown in, but now, with the weather grounding all flights, they were stuck. Crimson wouldn't let them into the main hall, so they had to huddle under the eaves, barely shielded from the relentless rain.
It was winter, and the night air was frigid. The biting wind, mixed with rain, cut to the bone. Mr. Atticus shivered uncontrollably. Inside, the hall was alive with music and dancing, a stark contrast to their cold, hungry misery outside.
The more Mr. Atticus thought about it, the more his anger flared.
When Flora, Connor, and Howell arrived, they saw Selene and her group shivering under the eaves.
"Is that her?" Howell raised an eyebrow, surprised to see Selene.
She was part of the medical organization? Flora didn't care about the organization; her focus was on Selene. She pursed her lips and told Howell, "Go, bring Selene in."
With that, Flora strode into the main hall, Connor following closely.
Howell grabbed an umbrella from a staff member and headed towards the corridor.
"Mr. Atticus, the folks at Club 257 have gone too far!" Susan was stomping her feet to keep warm. "They're completely ignoring us, ignoring the medical organization! If we let this slide, how can we maintain our standing among the major powers?"
"Soon..." Mr. Atticus replied, his voice barely audible. Soon, they'd be the ones begging.
"We can't let S off the hook. Crimson wouldn't have acted without his approval!" Susan continued.
Selene, who had been quiet, frowned at the mention of S. "Sister, this might not have anything to do with him. Although he's the president of Club 257, he hardly gets involved."
Even this annual meeting-he seemed to be absent...
Susan, already not on good terms with Selene, sneered. "Oh, defending Club 257 now, are we? I almost forgot, you were once a candidate member, only to be kicked out. Selene, is your heart still with him?" Selene's face darkened, ready to retort, when she noticed a man approaching with an umbrella. Susan saw him too.
The man, dressed in an iron-gray suit, had half his face hidden under the umbrella as he approached against the storm. Her heart skipped a beat.
Howell walked straight up to Selene, tilting the umbrella to cover her. His eyes, behind his glasses, were clear and soft.
"You're Selene." He said her name, then smiled lightly. "How about joining Club 257?"
Selene was stunned.
Mr. Atticus and the others were also taken aback.
Susan, seeing Howell's obvious interest in Selene, clenched her teeth in jealousy.
"If you want, you can join Club 257 right now." Howell's voice had a hint of anticipation.
Such a fine young woman, wasted in the medical organization. How much better it would be for her to join Club 257.
Flora liked her too, otherwise she wouldn't have sent him to invite Selene into the main hall.
Selene took a moment to study Howell, finally noticing the Club 257 badge on his chest.
