In the study.

"Karter, about the pharmacy chain..." Karter was still trying to convince her.

"No, I really can't be bothered," Flora said, giving a gentle shake of her head. "Alright then."

Karter decided not to push it. If she didn't want it now, he'd just hold onto it for her until she changed her mind.

"If there's nothing else, I'm off."

She still needed to swing by the Neville family.

"Okay." Karter nodded, then as if something just clicked, he added, "Oh, by the way, Joe's been popping by the Reyes family a lot lately. I think he's trying to see you. He seems to have something on his mind but is too shy to come straight to you. Want to meet him?" Flora instantly declined, "Nope, not interested."

One Nathan bugging her for mentorship was more than enough.

Add another old man to the mix? No thanks, she'd like to keep her sanity.

These old folks could really be a handful.

Karter offered, "Let me walk you out."

"No need, I can replace my own way." Flora shook her head and then mentioned, "Later on, I'll have Moss bring some folks over to keep an eye on Adrian. That kid's got a knack for disappearing."

...

After leaving the Reyes family, Flora headed over to the Neville family.

The whole place was buzzing with activity. A noble guest was expected today, and every heir, including Jaden, was eager to leave a good impression.

"Butler, give us a clue who exactly is this noble visitor? Someone we know? What are they into?" Eight heirs crowded around the butler, curiosity written all over their faces.

"You'll replace out once they arrive," the butler replied with a smile, then went off to accompany Nathan.

The heirs were left scratching their heads.

"Whoever's got Grandpa all worked

up must be a big deal, probably

some wise elder. Older folks

like chess and tea, right?

could

play to those interests."

"But what if it's not an older person?" A kid in sports gear shook his head, unconvinced. "Could be someone younger."

"Are you kidding? Someone Grandpa

respects that much can't be young. It's gotta be one of those mysterious old-timers. What do you think Jaden?"

"I agree," Jaden nodded, his smile calm and assured.

"Honestly, we're just along for the ride. Everyone knows you'll be the heir, Jaden." "Yeah, Jaden, you're the most gifted among us. The noble guest is bound to pick you." Jaden just smiled, his confidence clear without saying a word.

The ones Nathan had trained always had such good heads on their

shoulders, unlike other famy

where they'd fight tooth and nail for the heir spot.

Everyone assumed Nathan would choose Jaden as the heir, and even with this assessment, they still believed Jaden would ultimately take the title. They were just there to round out the numbers.

Still, they'd give it their all and not slack off.

"So, what gifts did you guys bring?"

"I got a jade that's supposed to help with sleep. Older folks usually have trouble with that," Jaden said with a smile.

"That's really thoughtful of you!"

The kid in sports gear felt his pocket, full of his favorite candies.

As for gifts... he hadn't prepared anything. He knew the heir title wouldn't be his anyway.

"Jaden."

Amidst all the chatter, a sweet voice chimed in.

Candace walked over slowly.

Seeing her, the heirs' smiles took a slight dip.
