After he finished speaking, the officials looked at him like he'd lost his marbles.

What was he thinking? Bringing Miss Candace in? For what? To treat her like a queen?

"Get him out of here."

A voice from the office echoed, carrying a hint of laughter but sending chills down the spine. In the next moment, the officials hauled him out.

Outside the enforcement headquarters, a crowd watched as Jaden was tossed out. He was a total mess. He'd never felt so embarrassed. Ever since meeting Candace, it seemed like he was always making a fool of himself.

He took a deep breath, recalling Candace's dire situation. Only Nathan could save her now. He headed to the Neville's place, but the butler stopped him at the door.

"Mr. Jaden, you're no longer part of the Neville family; you can't come in."

"I have urgent business..."

"The head of the household knows," the butler interrupted. "He won't get involved in Candace's matter."

Jaden inhaled deeply and knelt down with determination. The butler shook his head, sighing, and asked someone to shut the door. The biting cold wind cut to the bone, turning Jaden's lips pale as he knelt there for three solid hours. The door stayed shut.

Despair washed over Jaden. He could keep kneeling, but every moment Candace spent in that place meant more suffering for her. The enforcement team wasn't known for their kindness. Suddenly, Flora crossed his mind...

...

At the Falcone estate, Karter and Adrian had arrived too. Flora was leaving the next day, and Karter, along with Amanda and Ethan, were quietly wiping away tears. Adrian and Kruz watched them, faces blank.

"Come on, Flora's leaving, and so are we!" Kruz grumbled, biting his cheek. "Why do you act like you don't care about us leaving?"

"Seriously, we're leaving tomorrow too, and all you care about is her!" Adrian added, annoyed.

They were headed to Empire Base! The place was like a nightmare!

Karter, Amanda, and Ethan gave them a quick glance, then turned their focus back to Flora.

"Flora, remember to think of us and visit Lone Island when you can."

"Yeah, if Connor gives you any well, he won't." Karter

Kruz and Adrian, feeling utterly ignored, thought: Maybe we're not really family!

Flora leaned her head on Connor's shoulder, watching them with a smile. Her phone on the table buzzed with messages. She picked it up to replace lots of notifications.

Flora replied with a funny sticker.

Rafael: Flora, you're back tomorrow, right? What time's your flight? I'll pick you up.

Flora: Around 3 PM.

Rafael: Great, I'll be there.

Ray was also texting Connor.

Ray: What time?

Connor: Three.

Ray: Got it.

"Flora," Henrik leaned in suddenly, "Who're you chatting with? Cecelia? Did she message you?"

"Yeah." Flora blinked. "She did. Why?"

Henrik's lips tightened, and he shook his head. "It's nothing."

Then why wasn't she replying to his message?

"Ma'am, Jaden's here," the butler approached quietly amid the peaceful scene.

"Tell him to leave," Kruz chimed in first.
