Forsaken betrayal -
Chapter 15
Episode 15
Gealic had her back pressed against the railing as Lennox kept moving closer to her.
What more do you want from me?" He asked again.
"Right now, all I want is to not see you, to disappear from this hellhole you call a life." She spat.
He giggled, the purest thing she had ever heard from him. But in a second, he had switched to his intimidating self.
"I wish you'd disappear too," He slurred, slowly blinking and moved closer.
She wasn't ready to die, especially not in the hands of this man. She pushed against him and yelled, her scream piercing the air in hope to alert his men butshe knew it was a futile attempt as Lennox could do whatever he wanted with her and they would be mere spectators.
"Lennox, stop! You're drunk!" She cried and struggled to push him away but he only leaned forward, the glassy sheen of his eyes locked on hers.
"I'm drunk Amelia," he slurred. "You've made me into a drunkard." "Lennox!" She cried.
"You are a parasite leeching off of me, drawing away at my strength." His voice went low. "I wish you'd just die."
Her blood ran cold at his words, sending a shiver running down her spine on to all nerves of her body but she had not time to think of his harsh words as his body leaned closer again, till he was bent over her, one hand dangling at his side with the other keeping her face in place.
"Go away!"
Gealic squirmed beneath him, struggling to push his big mass away from her before they both fall to their deaths. She gave up when he didn't budge, her body spent in exhaustion.
"Please, Lennox."
"Please what?"
"We'll both fall." Her voice pleading.
"I can see that, I'm not stupid." He slurred his words, a confirmation that he was not yet sober.
"It'll be stupid if I die like this."
"Why do I want that?" He chuckled, his expression in drunken pleasure. "Why do I wish for you to fall to your-"
His words got caught in his throat, and his eyes widened as Gealic's hand gently cupped the back of his head, pulling him into a tender kiss, freezing him in a spot. But as their mouths gave way to their tongues, she leaned into him and he wrapped a hand around her waist, pulling her closer, away from the railing and into his embrace.
Gealic's breath escaped a soft sigh of relief but now, she was no longer in control of the kiss. One hand cradled the back of her head, his fingers tangling with her hair, while the other wrapped around her waiste, making it impossible for her to break free so she just resigned and gave in to the kiss. As Lennox's tongue crossed over hers in a calmness that surprised her, it tugged at her heartstrings in ways she would not express. The kiss deepened and all thoughts grew hazy, the hurtful words he had spoken earlier fading into the background. His steps faltered and he collapsed onto the sofa behind him, pulling Gealic down with him over him.
"You'll be the end of me," He whispered into her ears as he broke the kiss, burying his face in the crook of her neck. Gealic waited a while, seated in place and until his hands dropped from her body before she got up. "Lennox, let's take you to your room." She stood up, pulling his hands until his staggered up himself.
"What do you want with my room?" He leaned on her.
"Do you think I'm a witch that bites stuff, I'm am helping you to your room. After everything you said, I should have let you freeze to death outside." She retorted while helping him up the stairs.
"You're a witch, that's a fact." He replied sleepily
"Why don't you let this witch go?" Gealic pressed on, taking advantage of his drunken state to seek for clues about Amelia.
He stopped to look into her eyes, "Because she has me in bonds. She's the one who's not leaving."
She snickered.
"You've kissed me three times in three days, and I'm the one that put you in bonds?"
"See, you've put a spell on me, how does that keep happening when I can't stand you?" He asked. "Go away."
"I can't, especially when you send your men after me every time."
"And I'll keep doing it."
He pushed open the door to his room and released himself from her grip, staggering to his bed.
"I'd curse you to doom if I could," She followed him, muttering to herself.
"I'm already doomed." He sighed.
A tiny bell chimed as Alex walked inside the cafe elated that there was a coffee shop opened so late at night. He had tossed around on his bed, unable to get a wink of sleep
"Hello, how many I help you?" A feminine voice came behind the counter. Alex peered to see who was talking and noticed she was bent, clearing some things from the glass pastry case. He could tell she was getting ready to close down the shop.
"Coffee please, Expresso." He answered, his eyes fixed on the woman's fingers as she worked.
"Anything else?" She asked again
"Just-" Alex's response stopped in his throat as she rose from behind the counter, wrapping up her hair in a low ponytail. "Tori?" He whispered, his voice barely audible.
Her eyes widened the moment she set her eyes on him, he, gasping as she stumbled backwards.
"Tori?"
"Alex, please-" she sighed, clasping her face in her hands.
"I didn't know you were back at Mexico." He exclaimed, bewildered by her presence.
"I didn't want you to know." She retorted.
"Tori-" he drawled
"Please pretend you didn't see me today." She picked up a cup and walked over to the coffee machine
Alex only stood there speechless.
"Here's your coffee, you don't have to pay." She handed the hot cup to him with a fake smile etched on her face. "Please leave."
His gaze lingered on her face. "It's been years Tori-"
"Alex, I don't want to have to run away again." Her voice rose, hinting at a tinge of panic.
"Why would-"
"That is what would happen if you don't leave now and forget about this place." She rushed her words.
"Fine," He whispered with a forced smile before turning back the way he came.
"Thanks for the coffee." He added, his tone a little stronger now, a little cracked.
His smile turned sour as he stepped out the door, the tiny bell above tingling as she stepped out into the night. The breeze that had soothed him turned horridly cold, a biting wind that cut him in places he thought were healed. His heart felt a lot heavier than it had been before he came out and he blamed it on the woman in the coffee shop.
