Chapter 25
Episode

"Hi Tori," Johnson called.
"Hey,"
"I shouldn't tell you this but I'm at the hospital," Johnson said over the phone.
"What? Why? Are you alright?"
"No! I am okay, but Alex is not."
Alex's gaze darted to where Johnson sat. "What do you mean I'm not okay? Who are you calling?" He asked, curious about what Johnson was up to.
Johnson immediately put the phone off his ears, muting it. "I'm helping you win back you girl."
"You bastard!" Alex dashed for him, trying to reach his phone but Johnson who was more built that him held him down with, covering his mouth with a palm. "Yes, Tori. I had to attend to the doctor."
"How's Alex? What happened to him?" Her voice faltered over the phone. "Is he fine?"
"Yes...no, not really."
"Why are you calling me though?"
Johnson paused, lost at what to say. He had expected Tori to be anxious and come running to the hospitals.
"I-i just wanted you to know."
"He should be fine if you're there, have a good day Johnson." With that she ended the call.
Alex who had gone silent rose to his feet in annoyance
"You idiot!"
"I'm sorry, I thought she was gonna come."
"Well is she?"
"No, she really hates you man."
"I'll kill you!" Alex dashed for him, chasing him down the hospital hallway, the dyo making noise as they went. When they got tired of running around like children, they walked back to the waiting room where Gealic was seated, sobbing. Johnson cleared his throat as he walked nearer, "Hell be fine. It's not anything big." He comforted her, patting her in the back.
"It's my fault, I shouldn't have run away from home. There was so much blood, I-i don't-"
"Yeah, it's your fault." Alex agreed, staring at her with a sneer on his face.
"I'm sorry," She pleaded, her eyes running over with tears.
"Ni amount of sotrries can undo everything you've done to Lennox." Alex spat.
"Alex," Johnson cautioned him
"What?"Alex asked, feigning ignorance before turning back to Gealic. "If you'd just left him alone and not forced him to marry you, he'll be a while lot safer. You've out him through so much and today you almost took his life. What more do you want?"
"Nothing! There is nothing more I want from him than to be free of me, that's why I left."
Alex scoffed, "You sound believable."
"Alex, calm down on her, she got hurt too"
"She deserves whatever happens to her."
"Amelia must truly have been a horrible person." Gealic muttered to herself and stood up, wiping her tears. "I don't owe you any explaination or apology."
"Yeah, that's the real Amelia. I was wondering how far you'd take your acting." Alex sneered. "I'm sure your movie will do well."
"Alex, you will respect my wife." Lennox thundered, coming out from the ward. Everyone...alert at the sound of his voice with Gealic sobbing at the sight of a sling holding his arm. "Apologize to her now!"
"Lennox." Alex stated in disbelief. "I will rather die than apologize to Amelia."
"Okay, that's it. Let's go." Johnson said, dragging the perplexed Alex with him.
"Are you okay?" Lennox asked, placing his functioning hand on her shoulders as her body raked in tears.
"No, I'm so sorry," She cried, ...her hands over Lennox's wounded arm. "I shouldn't have done that."
"Let's go," Lennox said, pulling her by the hand out of the hospital.
"No!" She dragged her hand away from his grasp, quickly apologizing as he winced in pain. "Lennox please just let me go, I don't want anyone to get wounded because of me anymore. Please just let me go, I promise to not appear before you anymore. I am tired of being hated by you, by your friends, by my family, by everyone, I'll disappear as well."
"Don't you get it?" He shouted, "You don't get to run away as you wish, my life is tied to yours and I intend to keep you safe because my life depends on it, not because I want you to be with me!" "What?"
"Let's go home." He said calmly, taking her hands again and walking with her to the garage.
The rain that had started in patters was slowly becoming a...but the duo stood there in the rain.
"No, please. I can't live with you if you think I am capable of murder." Her face was wet with tears and the rain.
"I...I found out the truth,' he sighed, turning her to face him. "You didn't kill your brother and your parents know about it."
"I-i am not a murderer?" She asked, her voice wavering.
"No, you're not. You pa-" his words were cut short when Gealic squatted on the ground, crying with her face covering her face.
"I thought I was a murderer," She cried. "Everyone was calling me a murderer and you didn't believe me."
"I'm sorry. Today was my fault." He pulled her up with his free hand. "If I had believed you, you wouldn't have tried to run away and all these would not have happened. Now let's get out of the rain before you catch a cold." She hesitated, holding back when Lennox gestured for her to move closer.
"I really can't be rid of you?" She asked, as if weighing her choices on a scale.
"No, you can get rid of me just like I can't get rid of you." He answered before pulling her away from the cold rain and into the open car where Mr Richard was waiting for them.
"I'm sorry, you got hurt because of me." She apologized again, feeling guilty for the action she had considered small that turned out to be a big thing.
"I told you not to."
"Thank you for saving me," She continued. "I would have died if you had not searched for me."
"I said-"
"I feel guilty, okay. I feel guilty that you're hurt, that you shouted at your friend."
He smirked, "Alex and I will sort out things our." He said, slowly closing his eyes in succumb to sleep.

Tori watched as Alex walked into her cafe, sighing as he entered inside with his eyes locked on hers like he was trying to tell he something without speaking.
"I thought I told you to not come back here. Johnson said you were hurt, what are you doing here instead of the hospital?" She asked but Alex ignored every of her question, heading straight for her. She froze as he wrapped his arms around her in a big hug, his face buried in the hollow of her neck.
"Alex, don't d-"
"Just for a while, just for a while, Tori, let me stay this way. Just for a while." He muttered, snuggling his head in the crook of her neck.
Tori stood frozen in the hug, a cup on one hand and a pan on the other. It was bizarre but the warmth she felt on her inside was a great contrast to the cold emanating from Alex's body. She slowly dropped the things in her hand on the counter behind him and returned his hug.
Tori knew she was supposed to steer clear of him but what could she do when a wet, six-foot man she used to love comes into her cafe, looking like his life had crumbled to nothing?
She knew the logical thing to do after they had both hurt each other was to shut herself away from him, send him out to hug his pillows or something. But Tori knew better than anyone how Alex was when he really needed someone to comfort him, and that was what he needed now. So she would put behind the betrayal, painful past and harsh words they had said to each other and hug him like he wanted to.
"Why did you get beat by the rain?" She asked, rubbing her hands up and down his back.
"I needed to clear my head."
"Are you okay now?" She asked and he immediately nozzled closer to her. "I'll get you a cup of tea."
"Sit here, let me get you a cup of tea." She sat him down on one of the chairs, rushing behind the counter to make him tea. "Alex," She called, walking back to where he sat with his head resting on the wall. His eyes were shut and his ahest rose softly as he slept.
Her eyes went from his eyes to his lips before she quickly snapped out of it, wondering at the absurdity that had crossed her mind.
"Did you miss kissing me?" He asked, almost making Tori jump in fright. He held her hand and took the tea from her hand, placing it on the table. "Did you miss me?"
Tori gulped, knowing what all these would lead to. She could not lie or hide her attraction for Alex no matter how mean she could try to be to him. He knew this and was taking advantage of it, and she was letting him go on.
He pulled her closer making her falling into his arms, sleepily caressing her face. "You still look the same, did I tell you? You look exactly the way you did the first day you walked into my office, claiming to be my personal assistant."
She could only look into his eyes, not daring to tear her gaze as though it would break the spell he had cast on her. She only stared at the features that once made her feel so lucky to have him, features that cause an ache in her chest because they no longer belonged to her. She fixed hee eyes on the jet black of his pupils, a small sea of black waters that could drown you and seal you behind them, the eyes that sparkled even behind tge tiredness coverung them "Alex," She called his name softly, earing a small smile from him.
"I once told you if you wanted to win a battle against me, all you had to do was call my name like now." He smirked, "Are you trying to seduce me."
"No." She whispered, her breath warm against his already warm skin.
"It's working," He said, pulling her face closer until his lips met hers in a soft kiss.
"Alex!"
He tunnels his had through her hair, cradling the back of her head as the kiss turned from soft pecks on the lips to hungrily sliding in for a deeper kiss. Her lips part softly as her angled her better for the kiss, sliding his tongue along hers. Her hands rested on his wet shirt, clutching at the thin, white material he had on in an effort to pull him closer.
When he stood up, her legs wrapped around him, she moaned softly as he placed her on the counter, sliding his mouth from her lips to her neck, beneath her ear, to the places she was most sensitive.
Her response was immediate, her hands moving from his back to grasp his face.
He breaks the kiss, pulling her out of every high she had reached. She looked at him in confusion, her chest rising and falling in ragged breaths.
"What is wrong?"
"I don't want you to to anything you'll regret in the morning." He answered, stepping away from her.
"I already will regret this, what is the problem with taking it further?"
"You already hate me, stick to one thing."
"And I am sticking to you!" She almost yelled, frustrated about how anti-climatic everything was becoming.
"Trust me, I lose every strand of control I have when I'm with you, but I'm also save enough to not what you to hate me after this. I know you Tori, you have to forgive me before you can let me in. I won't manipulate your choice with a kiss." He answered
She sat there, perplexed at his words. It was true, whatever would have happened would have only gotten her to despise him more.
"I really needed someone this night," He said, bring I'm her down from the counter, "Thank you for being nice to me when you absolutely needed not to." He finally said before trudging out of the cafe, into the rainy night.
