FROM HELL
Chapter 19

We ran until we lost Will’s minions and Rudy was breathing rapidly. Rudy gave me an annoyed look when I didn’t even break a sweat.

“I guess there is perks in being more than human”

He said sizing me up and I was on high alert.

What the hell?

I narrowed my eyes and asked

“What in the world are you talking about, Rudy”

“You’re so bad at lying, Robin”

“I don’t know what you are talking about, Rudy, so I’m leaving”

“Oh no... Don’t go. I have been researching about you for a long time. I know everything about you”

“You don’t know anything about me”

“Yes, I do. You’re a werewolf”

I couldn’t help but laugh at that and said

“I’m far from that”

“So you accept that they are real, don’t you?”

I looked at him square in the eye

“Rudy, I’m saying this for the last time. I don’t know what you’re talking about”

I started to walk away when I sensed something watching me. I looked around to see a little girl watching me from the window on the second floor of a house across the street. She was 6 or 7 years old and had brown hair. Her energy signature was different but somehow familiar.

“I know you’re lying, Robin. If you’re not a werewolf then what are you. I know precisely that no normal girl can kneel Will like that or has shining silver eyes”

When I didn’t respond Rudy continued

“So, you ignore me to gawk at the haunted kid”

I looked at him and he was looking at the same kid I was looking at.

“Haunted?”

I asked completely intrigued

“Yeah, you know I have been working on supernaturals for some time now and I came across her case. She’s Amy Brooks, she’s 6 years old and was a talkative kid but once they moved into this place she just stopped talking, like she’s another person. Locks herself in her room and screams at everyone. Throws things around but in these past days it had become worse. Things started moving around the house and there this creepy noises all the time”

“How do you know all this, a college kid digging around could not get this much details”

“I have my sources.”

I looked at him to her. She looked sinister and her energy signature looked familiar.

“Let’s take a look”

“I refuse to go into that place”

Rudy said defiantly.

“Okay”

I said and started walking towards the house. The house had a sinister air to it. Rudy mumbled something and started following me.

“So, what’s the plan”

Rudy asked coming to walk beside me.

“I thought you had one.”

He looked at me shook his head

“Never mind just follow my lead.”

We rang the door bell and waited. A man in his late thirties opened the door. He looked exhausted; his brown hair was tinted with silver. He looked from Rudy to me.

“Who are you?”

He asked in a deep tired voice

“Sir, we are sent by father Richard. We would like to see little Amy”

Rudy said in a polite voice. The man looked at Rudy in confusion then looked inside and asked

“Father, do you know them”

He opened the door for us to see a father in all his glory sitting on the couch or more like for him to see us. He was a small man and looked like he was in his sixties, his hair was mostly white. He looked pointedly on Rudy and said

“Rudy”

Rudy made a nervous laugh and said

“Surprise...”

Father came to stand in front of Rudy and said

“I thought I was clear yesterday about not wanting you in the case.”

“May I know what this is all about, father”

The man asked completely confused.

“Arghh, where are my manners. Mark this is my son Rudy”

Mark and me looked at Rudy in unison

“I’m a kid in his orphanage, so he sees me as his kid”

Rudy said dismissively

Mark and the father were completely focused on Rudy, so I slipped inside and was assaulted by a complete sinister air. This atmosphere was familiar somehow, I sensed a lady watching me warily but not doing anything so I ignored her focusing on air inside the house. It was similar to the place in my nightmares or memories, the dark place, hell and I knew we were not just dealing with a ghost we were dealing with a demon.

“How long has it been after the possession?”

I asked the lady, she was in her mid thirties. She must be Amy’s mother. She looked from me to father.

“Who are you?”

Father now completely focused on me

“She’s my friend, father”

Rudy said from behind him.

“I didn’t asked you Rudy”

“I’m...”

I was interrupted by the loud crashing noise from second floor. It was like something was hitting hard on the wall. Father and Mark looked at each other and father produces a small bottle of water from his pocket. Mark gave him a key and he motioned us to stay there while running towards the second floor. I followed him close behind cloaking myself. When we were in front of the room the noises were coming from father opened the door and slipped in without noticing me entering. The noises were quieted when we entered.

“Dad?”

A small voice asked from the corner. The room was dark, all the windows were blinded. There were multiple scratch marks and dried blood on the wall. Father moved to the corner and I followed him without making any noise. The little girl was sitting down on the corner pressing her knees against her chest. I inspected her energy signature closely, she had human energy signature but it was enveloped by a dark energy which I’m sure is demonic.

“I will show you your dad dear”

Father said getting closer to her

“You will?”

She looked at father with expectant eyes. The kid was lying and father was falling right into the trap.

“Yes dear”

Father said moving closer to her and then she smiled. It’s not just a smile; it was more like a cruel sneer. Then she stood up striking father with non human speed making father fall on the bed unconscious. She took something from the corner of the room and started to walk towards him. I froze when I saw what she was holding. It was a sharp shard of glass.
