Drake furrowed his brow, touching his flushed face. "Am I blushing?"

Kale nodded.

Drake then touched his forehead, comparing it to Kale's. He concluded that he didn't have a fever.

"It's too hot in here. Have someone turn on the air conditioning."

"What temperature, boss?"

"65."

Drake tugged at his collar. It was indeed hot. He hadn't noticed it earlier in the study.

He paused mid-step. "Did I go overboard by sealing all the windows in her room?"

"No, she betrayed you before," Kale reassured him.

"You're right." Drake nodded and continued walking, but he soon stopped again. "Have someone remove two of the iron plates and make sure the room is ventilated daily." "Boss?"

"I don't want her to suffocate. That would make all my efforts pointless."

"Understood."

In the guest room, Debra lay on the bed, hiding the pill Drake had given her inside her ring. This pill could be crucial in the future, and she didn't want anyone to replace it. There was a knock on the door, and she answered, "Come in."

It was Lara, not Drake returning.

"Mr. Lowe wants me to watch you until the drug takes effect."

"No need to watch. It won't take effect."

Lara stiffened and then quickly understood the situation.

She closed the door and approached Debra. "Ms. Frazier, did you come for that phone?"

"What else?" Debra replied. "I know you kept the phone because you hate Drake and want to take him down. But you can't do it alone. I can."

QUMS

Lara hesitated, and Debra added, "That phone is crucial. You've always wanted to bring down Drake and Sharp family, right? Give me the phone, and I promise not only them

but also other criminal orga

will be dismantled. No more innocent people will be harmed."

Lara fell silent for a moment. "I can give you the phone, but you won't succeed."

"Why not?" Debra asked.

"Because of his engagement to Liza. He is now Bert Eaton's son-in-law. They won't let anything happen to him," Lara explained. Debra laughed, "If that's your concern, don't worry."

"What do you mean?" Lara asked, puzzled.

"Trust me. Their engagement won't last long," Debra said confidently.

Lara was finally reassured. "Alright, I'll give you the phone."

But just as she was about to hand over the phone, she pulled her hand back. "I have one more condition."

Debra remained calm. "Go ahead. I'll agree if it's within my power."

"When you leave this place, take me with you, Lara said. "If you leave me behind Drake will continue to use me as a pawn. If this is exposed, I'll be the first to die."

"Okay, deal," Debra said.

Lara asked, "How are you going to get out?"

"Don't worry about that. If I want to leave, I can do it anytime," Debra replied confidently.
