Half Faced Alpha -
Chapter 31
Natalia swallowed, as Axton took one step forward. "I asked what is going on. Have you all gone deaf?"
The omega immediately cowered behind Natalia, who found Axton's coolness just as daunting.
"Uhm...Alpha, Natalia wanted to paint the house to become lighter, so..." Beta Scott's voice trailed off as he watched Axton come down slowly, his eyes fixed on Natalia. He came down finally, then with excruciatingly slow steps, walked towards her.
"What are you doing?" He asked her, his eyes darting slowly between her and the brown mop of hair that belonged to the omega.
"I...I want..."
"Come out here, Omega." He said simply, holding her gaze in his.
The omega walked out slowly, his body trembling.
"Why were you standing so close?"
The omega lowered his head. "I was...we were cleaning...I was just..."
"Axton, please. I was the one who held him back because Beta Scott kept telling him to leave and...."
He raised a finger and Natalia immediately stopped talking.
"Then you should have just let the omega leave, do you not agree?"
Natalia bit down on her lip then moved forward. "He is, in the end, a wolf. Why do you keep referring to him as 'the omega?' Is there no other way to address him?"
Axton's gaze left the omega and he looked down to Natalia.
"So what exactly do you suggest I call him?" It wasn't a question.
"It would be best to...maybe ask his name..."
Axton snickered, then shook his head and clapped his hands twice.
"I, the alpha of Crimson moon should ask an omega for his name? What do you think of me?"
"Axton, it is just a name."
"Is that why you cupped his face and stared into his eyes like you were about to kiss him? Because you think an omega is an equal? To me? Or to Beta Scott or even to you? You think they can stand on the same ground?" Axton asked her, his voice still low, but colder and angrier.
"Axton, that is not it. I was not trying to kiss him or anything. I was comforting him. He was crying and I was..."
"Did you comfort me last night, Natalia?" He asked, making Beta Scott's eyes go wide. "Did you hold my face in your hands like that and wipe my tears and ask me if I was okay? Did you?" "This is not about us!"
"It is, Natalia. It is. What does he have on you?"
She watched him, her chest heaving, her lips slightly parted.
"I am sorry, Alpha. I will take the omega out and.."
"No," Axton said, cutting Beta Scott off. "Leave him here, and bring me the whip." He didn't take his eyes off Natalia as he said it.
"The whip?" Beta Scott asked and turned to the omega.
"Yes, the whip. Or do I go get it myself?"
Beta Scott shoot his head. "No, I will get it."
He turned and left the place, then made his way to the underground dungeons where the correction equipment were kept for erring wolves.
The omega moved backwards, tears filling his eyes. "Alpha..please, I am sorry. I am so sorry. I was..it was..." He went down on his knees, and clasped his hands together.
Alpha Axton took in a deep breath as he watched the omega then Natalia who looked almost as angry as Axton.
"Is this to prove a point?" She asked him. "Are you doing this to prove a point?"
"A point? The whip is used to correct erring wolves. Do you not know that? He is an erring wolf. Is he not?"
"What did he do wrong?"
Alpha Axton's shrugged. "He let you touch him, Natalia. He dared to look at you, he dared to enjoy the feel of your palms on him. He dared to indulge in something that is exclusively mine, Natalia. Mine." Natalia stood speechless. He wasn't the vulnerable Axton she had seen last night, and she knew it was all the anger he felt from her leaving him to deal with it.
Beta Scott came back with a long whip and handed it to Axton carefully. He went to the omega and stood him up, then brought him, like a sacrificial lamb to the big bad wolf.
"Axton, do not do this." Natalia said, and he gave her a small smile.
"We will see about that." He said, as he rolled the whip around his hand so it becomes even shorter and harder.
The omega stood on his own, tears falling uncontrollably from his eyes as he watched Axton. Axton didn't even look up and kept his focus on the whip.
"What do I do? What do I have to do, Axton? So you will stop this madness? He is only an innocent boy."
Alpha Axton shrugged, his body relaxing. He felt a little weak and dizzy, and his eyes stung from all the crying last night. "Would you rather I teach his a lesson or...do you prefer to never hear a word from me again?" "Axton, you are taking things too far."
"Just answer me. Do you prefer to save him and lose me, or let him have exactly what he deserves and keep me?" He chuckled at her confused expression. "I am really curious about this. Seeing how you so easily gave up on me, I want to see if there any other options for you."
Beta Scott swallowed. He knew it would happen. Some sentences are incomplete if you are not reading this novel on Ebookex.com. Visit Ebookex.com to read the complete chapters for free. Alpha Axton was exploring unfamiliar waters, and he was very sensitive to anything that would pose a threat. He let his eyes fall to the whip in Alpha Axton's hand, and the loose unready way he held it.
Like an omega who had taken an instant liking to Natalia.
"Do I really have to choose?"
Alpha Axton nodded. "You do. You have to choose."
Natalia nodded and took a step forward. Beta Scott sighed in relief as he saw a small smile brighten up Alpha Axton's eyes.
As long as he had her, he didn't even care for the omega. He wouldn't even care to punish him or anything, he just needed to know she still belonged to him, willingly.
"I hope you will be less angry and decide to talk to me one day. I will wait."
The smile immediately diminished from Axton's eyes and the whip he had already started to let go of, clattered to the floor.
"So, the omega it is?" He asked her.
"I wish I could have you too, and you could stop blowing..."
"The omega it is?" He asked again, cutting her off.
She turned to Beta Scott who shook his head, then turned back to Axton. "Yes."
Alpha Axton nodded, then let a smile take over his face. Beta Scott recognized that smile and started to back off.
Natalia turned to the omega as Axton silently watched, and after making sure he was okay, told him to leave. He would have to pass by Axton on his way to the exit, and Axton stood, smiling.
"She told you to go." He said to the hesitating omega, who nodded and started to walk away.
It was a decision he would live to regret as Axton suddenly held him back by one finger lodged between his cloth and his body as soon as he got to him.
"She asked you to leave...I did not."
"Axton, you promised!"
"I only asked you a question, which you answered in a way I did not like." He laughed and turned back to the scared omega, and before anyone of them could predict the next thing, the omega was reeling to the floor, his hand too slow to cushion the effect of the burning slap, and his lower lip cut by his own teeth.
Axton laughed, a sound Natalia has never heard before, and went to the boy's height.
"She asked me to address you by your name. Do you want to be addressed by your name?"
The omega immediately shook his head, not even daring to cry.
Axton traced a small finger on the work of art on his cheek. "I can not help being possessive, you see." He looked up to Natalia who was shocked to immobility. "I have never felt this way before." She could hear the hint of vulnerability in his voice, as his eyes saddened.
"I am sorry, Alpha."
He turned to the omega, then let go of his face and stood up. "Tell the healer I sent you."
The omega immediately nodded and scurried out of the house.
Alpha Axton stood, then gave a small sigh. Without a word to Natalia or Beta Scott, he turned away to the stairs and walked slowly back to his room.
