Chapter 6 Unexpected Pregnancy

Celia glanced at the man before asking, “What happened to her?”

Dominic responded slowly, “Grace did something wrong, and I’d like to apologize on her behalf. She told people what she heard last night.

Celia was a little surprised that he knew what was going on. She knew Dominic could replace out, though, because he was really powerful.

Furthermore, his actions indicated that he was accepting responsibility for Grace’s actions and willingly apologizing on her behalf.

Celia thought, “Well, he’s really infatuated with that pretentious woman.”

“I don’t blame her, Celia said calmly. After all, she wasn’t a petty person, and this was just a rumor. What mattered was that Grace had Dominic’s support, and Celia knew that dwelling on it would only bring her trouble.

Dominic explained, “Grace’s health condition isn’t good, and she can’t handle major shocks. That’s why I didn’t tell her about what happened last night. It’s not that I’m ashamed of the truth or anything like that.”

“Hmm,” Celia nodded, touching the mark on her collarbone, and said, “I’ve already told them it’s a dog bite and has nothing to do with you.”

Dominic’s eyes narrowed, and he leaned forward to kiss the hickey on the spur of the moment.

Celia quickly reacted, putting up a hand to stop him from getting closer. Her soft and slightly cold fingers brushed against his sharp, knife–like thin lips.

Celia smiled softly and said, “Please don’t forget that we are already divorce. We should keep our distance if you don’t want her heart condition to worsen. After all, she is your one and only true love.”

Dominic pursed his lips, withdrew his hand, and looked at the woman with aloofness and elegance in his eyes, feeling uneasy.

“Why don’t you want that five hundred million? Is it because you’re Dr. Lynn?” He didn’t usually talk this much, but he couldn’t help but want to know the

answers.

Celia expressed her surprise, saying, “Mr. Dawson, you used to be much less talkative.”

Dominic pursed his lips and said, “Answer me.”

His

gaze dimmed slightly, and he insisted, “You should take this money.”

“You don’t have to do that. I know that you’re giving me money because you think I used to be a good wife. Okay, I get what you’re trying to say.”

Celia’s voice sounded cold and uncaring.

Dominic’s voice, too, adopted a colder tone as he said, “You can ask for my help if you need it in the future.”

Celia didn’t say no this time because of Dominic’s standing in Ekaville’s high society. She was aware that giving him a hand would be good for both of them.

Dominic’s expression softened slightly.

He added, “Also, Grace is not my true love.”

The car had already arrived at the hospital as soon as he finished speaking.

Grace, sitting in the car parked beside theirs, gave Dominic a sad expression. “Dominic, about my condition…” she said.

Celia raised her eyebrows. She realized Dominic had explained it to Grace before he got into her car.

“Doesn’t he seem thoughtful? It’s the first time I’ve seen this side of him. He probably wouldn’t dare to tell her about how he harassed me in the car,” Celia thought.

Celia concluded that Dominic was indeed a despicable man. Despite his claim that Grace was not his only love, he only showed her kindness and concern.

As a responsible doctor, Celia crossed her hands and calmly said, “You can get. back to normal if you replace a suitable heart and the donor agrees to donate it to

you.”

Even if they managed to replace a suitable donor, most people would be unwilling to put their own lives in danger by donating a heart to a stranger. Therefore, it was nearly impossible for Grace to replace a replacement heart.

Dominic’s expression also grew somber as Celia’s words echoed what other international doctors had previously told him.

“Certainly, there are alternative methods. A friend of mine have been

researching artificial hearts in recent years. If there is a breakthrough, we can

consider a heart transplant for Miss Murphy. However, the technology is not yet advanced enough. Mr. Dawson, you may need to wait a little longer.”

It wasn’t until Celia finished her sentence that she realized Dominic had lied to Grace about going to her car to discuss her condition. However, Celia acted like they hadn’t talked about it in the car by bringing it up once they got out and making it seem like she discussed this subject on purpose.

Celia felt wrongly accused. They hadn’t discussed Grace’s condition in the car because Dominic hadn’t mentioned it.

Plus, she had simply shared all of the information she had to help them replace a

solution.

Grace paused for a moment and asked, “Didn’t you talk about this in the car

earlier?”

Before Dominic could respond, Celia quickly replied, “We were discussing the details of your condition at that time, but we didn’t mention this particular question.”

Celia had no mood to discuss the specifics any further. If Grace later questioned. Dominic about their conversation, he would have to fabricate something on the

spot.

“I need to go organize some paperwork. Wait a minute, someone will contact. you later,” Celia said. She realized that staying any longer would only invite trouble, so she turned and walked away.

After Celia left, Grace cast an aggrieved gaze at the aloof man beside her. “Dominic, are you srill in love with her?” she asked.

Dominic glanced at her, his tone still gentle but his voice turning colder. “It’s not your concern, Grace. Just focus on getting better.”

Grace clenched her hands tightly. “Alright. I’ll try not to worry you too much. and I’ll cooperate with the treatment.”

“Great,” Dominic nodded calmly.

Instead of talking to them personally about the rest of it, Celia told Dean to do

She could make Dominic feel valued while also shielding herself from suspicion. She thought she had done an acceptable job, all things considered.

Chupter ni Virspecta) Pregnancy

Although two months may not seem long, it wasn’t a brief period for Celia. She hadn’t seen Dominic throughout this time, yet her body experienced waves of discomfort.

She threw up everything she had eaten that morning.

“Is everything alright, Dr. Lynn?” The nearby doctors exchanged concerned glances with her. “Are you pregnant? You don’t seem to be feeling well today.”

There was a look of surprise on everyone’s faces. No one would have guessed that Celia, who seemed distant and aloof despite her youth, was already a married mother.

Celia shook her head before grabbing a napkin to clean her lips and said, “No, it’s not like that. My stomach has been upset a lot lately.”

“I see,” the others didn’t give it much thought.

Celia secretly checked her pulse and discovered she was showing pregnancy

signs.

She struggled to believe it at first, but she had never been wrong in her judgment. It appeared that she was truly pregnant.

For the previous decade, Celia and Dominic had a regular sexual relationship, during which time they had always taken precautions, except for one particular

night.

Celia patted her forehead in frustration, perplexed as to why she had been unlucky enough to become pregnant with his child.

If this were true, things would only get more complicated between her and Dominic unless she managed to keep him in the dark about the baby..

She hoped this secret could be kept.

Later that day, Celia had an unanticipated encounter with Dominic in her office.

He sat quietly on the couch, looking exactly the same as he did two months ago, but there was a tinge of curiosity and investigation in his eyes as he looked at

Celia.

Celia forced a smile. “It’s just some stomach discomfort.”

“You should get checked out anyway.”

“I’m a doctor, and I’m well aware of my own physical condition.

Dominic didn’t back down. “Doctors occasionally make mistakes due to oversight.”

Celia was well aware that this check–up was unavoidable.
