Heartstrings on Fire (Agnes and Jared) -
Chapter 569
Chapter 569
When Agnes woke up, there was still a cold towel on her forehead.
Ryder was sitting by her bed, with a basin of water next to him.
Agnes took off the towel, "How long have I been out?"
"Two hours."
"Have you been taking care of me all this time?"
"You had a high fever, so I tried to bring it down with a cold compress first. Now, take this medicine. If your fever doesn't go down by tomorrow, we'll have to get you to a hospital for an IV drip." Ryder got up, poured a glass of water, and handed her the medicine.

Agnes was still a bit weak, but she definitely felt a lot better than before.
Agnes threw back the covers, looked around, "Where am I?"
"My room."
Agnes frowned, "Why did you bring me to your room? What if someone misunderstands? I should be in the guest room." "You've been sleeping here for two hours. If someone was going to misunderstand, they would have done it already."
Agnes sat on the bed, feeling a bit helpless.
But she really shouldn't worry about it, since she was going to leave soon anyway.
Agnes was quiet for a moment, then suddenly asked, "Why did you come back all of a sudden?"
Ryder said, "I came back to take care of some business. What about you? Why are you here?"
Agnes replied casually, "I came back to take care of some business as well."
Ryder didn't seem interested in pursuing the topic further.
He took out a digital thermometer and checked her temperature again, "Your fever's gone down a little. Are you still feeling dizzy?" Agnes massaged her temples, "A little."
"Take the medicine and get some more sleep. We'll see how you are in the morning."
Agnes didn't have the energy to talk, she felt weak and sore all over.
After Agnes lay down and closed her eyes, she suddenly opened them again, asking, "If I'm sleeping in your room, where are you sleeping?" "Don't worry about me. There are over a hundred rooms here, I have plenty of places to crash."
Agnes thought that made sense.
But she didn't expect to wake up the next morning and replace Ryder sleeping on the couch.
The couch was small and Ryder was a big guy, there was no way he could stretch out comfortably. Despite the warmth of the room, it was still winter and Ryder didn't have a single blanket on him. Agnes sighed.
She picked up the blanket from the bed and walked over to the couch.
Then she gently laid the blanket over Ryder.
"Agnes!"
Before she even finished, Ryder called out, grabbing her arm and suddenly opening his eyes.
Ryder was clearly startled awake.
"Did I wake you?" Agnes asked.
Ryder closed his eyes again, sat up, and rubbed his nose, "No, just had a nightmare."
"Why did you call my name in your nightmare? What did you dream about?"
Ryder looked up at Agnes, his expression cold, "I dreamt we got married."
Agnes was just joking, but she didn't expect Ryder to say something like that.
Over the years, they had kept in touch and met regularly.
But they never talked about personal feelings and always deliberately kept a certain distance.
So when Ryder suddenly said that, Agnes was a bit confused.
Agnes was stunned for a few seconds, then managed a smile and replied, "That does sound like a nightmare." Ryder didn't say anything.
He stood up and asked, "How are you feeling now?"
Agnes nodded, "I think I'm a lot better. I'm not dizzy anymore."
Ryder checked Agnes' temperature again, and indeed, she was

"Let's go to the dining room and get something to eat. You haven't eaten anything all day."
Agnes and Ryder left the room together.
They didn't expect to replace a few maids waiting outside the door.
When they opened the door, the maids almost fell in.
Ryder frowned, "What are you doing here?"
The maids replied timidly, "Mr. Ryder, we just came to call you and your girlfriend for breakfast."
