Jared knew that Valeria's engagement to him was all about proving her power to the Count and Countess Alexandra to secure the agency rights to their wine.

And she got what she wanted. This took away a bit of the guilt that Jared was feeling.

Valeria continued, "But there's another issue that I need your help with."

"Speak up, as long as I can help, consider it done. It's the least I can do after breaking off our engagement."

"In two weeks, it's the Count and Countess Alexandra's daughter's coming-of-age party. They're holding a banquet at their estate and we've been invited. The wine agency rights are not yet fully secured, they're leaning towards me, but there were a lot of competitors. So, if you're free, I'd like you to come with me. After all, they think we're engaged and they're quite impressed with your resources."

Jared immediately agreed, "Rest assured, unless a comet hits the earth, I'll definitely be there."

Valeria laughed, "I didn't know you had a sense of humor."

Jared and Valeria's rapport was easy and natural. They had been good business partners for years.

Valeria was undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with, with her sharp mind, daring personality, and her knack for business.

Aside from kinship, Jared had a great deal of respect and admiration for her.

After they finished their business discussion, Valeria didn't hurry to leave.

She walked over to the couch where a child was sitting, "He looks just like you."

Jared had heard this so many times that he was tired of it.

"He's my son," Jared said suddenly, proudly.

"I know he's your son. Look how happy you are," Valeria teased.

She stood up, "Jared, now that Ms. Pritchard is back with your son, what are you planning to do? And does she know about you and Ms. Sharon? As a friend, I need to warn you, women can be very jealous. You need to handle this carefully. And you should also sort things out with Ms. Sharon, or she will bring you trouble."

Jared smiled, "Thanks for the advice."

Valeria shrugged, "I'm just trying to protect our business."

"Don't worry, I'll handle it."

Valeria left after having a cup of coffee in the office.

Jared, however, was lost in thought.

Although he and Valeria were close friends and she had been by his side, encouraging, helping, and advising him, nobody knew about his real relationship with Sharon.

Including Valeria, who thought Sharon was his mistress who had been with him for three years and even aborted his child.

But the truth... there were many things Jared didn't want to explain, nor could he.

He didn't care about the rumors in the media, even though he had been labeled as a playboy.

But about Agnes, he wouldn't explain anything to her.

Why should he remain faithful when she had been with so many men, even getting engaged to Ryder and living with him?

She was no longer the Agnes he knew. He would rather she misunderstood everything.

Why should he be the one to remain loyal while she didn't even think about him?

She probably forgot all about him a long time ago.

Just the thought of Agnes being intimate with other men made Jared want to kill.
