Valeria had had enough. She abruptly stood up. "Say that one more time, Kevin."

"I'll say it again, I'm not afraid of you. Do you think I don't know about your man over there, calling off the engagement on the day it was supposed to happen, and having a child with another woman. He treats you like this and you're still clinging on to him. What's your career success worth? In terms of relationships and family, you're nothing but a complete loser!"

"Kevin, you've got guts, but no matter how much of a failure I am, I'm still your boss. Don't let me catch you slipping up at work." With that, Valeria stormed out of the room.

Jared followed her.

Raleign sighed. "Is it too much to ask for a peaceful meal? All this arguing gives me a headache, and I've lost my appetite."

With that, Raleign also left.

Kevin, still fuming, threw down his fork and stormed out of the restaurant.

Beatrice hadn't even come for dinner in the first place.

So, the once bustling dining room was now eerily quiet, with only Agnes and Ryder left.

Agnes seemed unfazed.

She ladled herself a spoonful of soup. "This is top-grade truffle soup. It would be such a waste to let it go cold. Ryder, have some too." Ryder remained silent.

When Agnes looked up, she found Ryder's gaze fixed on her face.

Agnes blinked. "Why are you looking at me?"

Ryder spoke up. "Did you have anything to do with what happened?"

"What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean. I'm talking about Laura's affair with my Uncle Berlin."

Agnes finished her bowl of soup before calmly responding. "Why do you suspect me?"

"If it wasn't you, you wouldn't have made me come back here to witness this drama. Agnes, tell me, did you replace out something about the past? Did Laura harm you and your mother?"

Agnes' expression finally shifted. "Yes, I haven't fully investigated yet, but Laura is definitely involved. And my father was set up by her to have an accident."

Speaking of this, Agnes' fingers unconsciously clenched.

Ryder was shocked. "You're saying your father's accident wasn't accidental, but deliberate?"

Agnes nodded.

Ryder said, "This is murder. Did Laura do it?"

Agnes turned to look at Ryder. "It was Laura and Berlin. So, I won't let either of them get away with it."

Ryder was even more taken aback. He hadn't expected Berlin to be an accomplice.

Ryder said, "So, you're even planning to go after my Uncle Berlin? Is it you who's trying to harm him?"

Agnes looked down. "Ryder, I can only tell you this much. You shouldn't worry about the rest."

"I can't just ignore this."

Agnes scoffed. "What, are you afraid I'll harm your Uncle Berlin?"

"No, I'm afraid you'll do anything for revenge and end up getting hurt. Berlin is no pushover, don't underestimate him."

Agnes hadn't expected Ryder to be worried about her safety.

Agnes said, "I know my limits. I won't act recklessly. They've done unforgivable things, and I'll use the law to make them pay." Ryder still looked serious.

Agnes seemed confident, but Ryder knew there were dangers lurking.

Berlin and Laura were not to be trifled with.

And if Berlin did get involved, Valeria wouldn't stand by either.
