Heartstrings on Fire (Agnes and Jared) -
Chapter 680
Agnes was about to leave.
Jared, once again, grabbed her arm and continued, "Why bring in another when I have you?""
Then, without another word, he leaned in and kissed her. It was a fierce, unforgiving kiss. Agnes struggled, but in the end, she gave in.
Perhaps it was the warmth of their bodies that ignited a flame between them. In the end, Agnes didn't feel forced by Jared. It was as if years of pent-up longing and desire flowed out all at once. She never closed her eyes. She watched him: his anger, his obsession, his satisfaction.
Jared kept kissing her, trying to get her to close her eyes. Because in her wide-awake gaze, he could see his own downfall.
Her alertness was like a blade, stabbing into his heart with each passing second.
He knew he was forcing her, but he couldn't resist it. He didn't want to.
From the moment Agnes appeared in front of him, every cell in his body was crying out for her.
He felt like he had been waiting for a lifetime for this moment.
He finally had her in his arms, basking in her warmth and her unique scent.
If time could stand still, he wished it would freeze at that moment.
He wished he could blend her into his bones so that he would never have to worry about her disappearing without a trace again.
He kept making love with her.
When he finally exhausted, he buried his head in her neck, feeling a wave of dizziness. It was as if the world around them had disappeared, leaving only the two of them together.
In a hoarse whisper, Jared spoke into Agnes' ear, "Can we stop fighting? I just want to be with you."
Agnes was in a daze from exhaustion, but his words snapped her back to reality. She felt a pang of sadness rise from deep within her heart. She wanted to agree, to say yes. But she knew well the obstacles that lay between them. Even though Jared had broken off his engagement with Valeria, there were still other women surrounding him.
Over and over again, Jared whispered in Agnes' ear, "Tell me you love me, tell me you love me!"
Each command was like an arrow, piercing her defenses.
Agnes couldn't dodge them all. Finally, as if under a spell, she whispered, "I love you."
Satisfied, Jared finally fell asleep.
When he woke up, Agnes was gone.
For a moment, he doubted if everything that happened the previous night was just a dream.
But the mess in the room proved him wrong.
He had indeed spent the night with Agnes. But where was she now?
Jared scoured every corner of the house, but there was no sign of her.
Frustrated, he punched the window. Once again, she had vanished without a trace!
