The leaders of the Station were almost all clustered in the News Department's office.

When Agnes arrived, everyone was in Yolanda's office, waiting for her.

The other colleagues in the office shot Agnes glances filled with a complex mix of emotions.

Agnes could faintly overhear their murmurs, "Is she really Jared's ex-wife? Who would have thought that Agnes isn't just one of us, but she's the former Mrs. Whitfield."

"I knew there was something about her. A brilliant woman returning from overseas, and yet she's content with being a mere freelance reporter in our News Department without a staff position. Now it makes sense, she's using the network's influence to expose Sharon. Cold move though, waiting until Sharon won the Best Actress award to take her down from her high. I feel for Sharon."

"Agnes doesn't look like that type of person. Let's not jump to conclusions without knowing the full story."

Agnes headed straight to the office.

The Station head, seeing Agnes, looked as if he wanted to throw his computer at her face, "Agnes, I never pegged you for this kind of person. I specifically asked you to interview the award-winning actress, and what is this mess you've written? We are a reputable TV station, not some trashy tabloid. You've completely tarnished our image."

Facing a barrage of scolding, Agnes' voice remained calm, "Sir, I didn't write this story, nor did I publish it. The original footage of my interview from yesterday has already been sent to Ramona for post- production. The interview video should be in her inbox."

Most of the News Department's staff were standing at the door, eavesdropping on the commotion inside.

Hearing her name, Ramona quickly stepped in to testify, "I can vouch for Agnes. The interview footage is ready, and Agnes' work was professional and excellent. I was planning to send it out first thing this morning, but..." But no one expected this turn of events.

Ramona added, "We all believe that the report wasn't published by Agnes because there was no need for her to produce two contradictory reports."

At that moment, Yolanda stepped forward, "The article was posted from your account, with your byline. Are you still going to deny it? Perhaps yesterday's interview was just a smokescreen. Agnes, you're Jared's ex-wife, could it be that you were driven by jealousy towards Sharon to seek revenge? But using the station for your personal vendetta, smearing our reputation - that's something we cannot overlook." Agnes retorted, "That article was indeed not my doing. Someone used my name to set me up."

Yolanda challenged her, "What value do you possess that makes you worth framing? Besides, aren't you known for your good reputation here in the News Department? You claim someone is framing you, then replace this person. Otherwise, it's just excuses."

Agnes said, "The office and corridors are monitored by CCTV. The article was posted in the wee hours. Just pull the footage, and whoever appeared at that time is the one trying to frame me."

Agnes knew that if the CCTV was checked, her connection with Jared couldn't be kept secret any longer, but to prove her innocence, she was willing to risk it.

However, just as they were about to check the surveillance, a security team member came in with bad news - due to a technical glitch, all the CCTV footage from the previous day was lost. Yolanda seized the opportunity to accuse Agnes, "Agnes, did you do it? Destroying evidence is as good as admitting guilt."
