What is he doing here? I checked the guest list Lilian sent me. and liis name isn't on it. Besides, he'snot the type who would bother attending a small event like this. I don't understand why he came here.

While Angeline was in a daze, the driver pulled out a black, pristine coat from the vehicle and draped itover Evander's shoulders.

Evander looked around the ship, paying no attention to everyone's gaze until his eyes landed onAngeline.

He paused, but only for a few seconds before he averted his gaze and stepped onto the ship.

“Mr. Golding/’ everyone greeted him enthusiastically when he walked past them.

“Mm." Evander nodded with a grim expression.

No one could ignore him, for the aura he exuded was simply too powerful.

He didn't stop walking until he arrived in front of Angeline. “Ms. Sorelle,” he stalled, staring fixedly ather.

It was a simple greeting, yet Angeline was unhappy to hear it.

She trembled violently, her face pale. Ms. Sorelle... I can't believe there will come a day when we're thisdistant. Is he here to taunt me? Ridicule me?

Meanwhile, Nancy and Roger had arrived in fancy clothes as they had also received Angeline'sinvitation.

They were at each other's throats again the moment they met each other. It wasn't until they noticedEvander's presence that they stopped for a while.

Nancy was standing at the spot closest to the sea breeze with a glass of red wine in her hand as shestared at Evander with surprise.

“What's going on? Why is he here?" She turned her sharp look to Roger. “Did you call him here?”

“I didn't," he answered helplessly. “Didn't the two of them break up already? Why would I do somethinglike this?”

After thinking about it briefly and carefully, Nancy concluded that, indeed, he wasn't someone whowould do such a tiling.

In that case, Evander must've made liis way here without someone prompting him. Why, though?

At that moment, she saw Evander approaching Angeline.

She muttered anxiously, “Evander definitely won't say anything pleasant to Angeline. What if she getsbullied? No. I can't allow that to happen."

Just as she was about to move toward Angeline, Roger blocked her path.

“You shouldn't interfere. Angeline's not even as anxious as you. Just let her deal with it herself.”

His words successfully persuaded her to stay, but she was still worried as she gazed at Angeline andEvander with a frown.

Roger placed his hand on Nancy's shoulder familiarly with a mischievous smile. “Evander's a sensibleguy. There's no way he'll give your best friend a hard time in public. Instead of thinking about them, you

should focus on us. Look at how beautiful the night is. You know, I've already booked a couple's roomon the second floor...”

His stark reminder caused her to blush. “Shut up, you scoundrel.”

Roger chuckled. “It's not the first time we did it already, so why are you still all shy?”

As he spoke, he placed his hand on Nancy's waist and then moved it to her butt.

Before he could finish enjoying the moment, she suddenly grabbed liis aim and used her other hand tosqueeze liis crotch.

“Ow!” he cried out. “Are you trying to kill me, Nancy?"

Nancy's expression had turned grim as she pushed Roger away and looked at him seriously. “This ismy final warning to you. What happened that night was just an accident. I suggest you forget about itas soon as possible. A relationship between us is impossible.”

Then she turned around and left, leaving him behind.

Roger watched her leave with a dumbfounded look as he endured the pain.

She doesn't seem to be joking about it. As he tightened liis grip on the railing, a hint of sadness creptonto his face.

The moment Nancy turned around, the icy expression on her face had already vanished. She forced afaint smile that looked more like a grimace.

It wasn't difficult to spot traces of despair in her dazed look. Roger's not in the wrong. I was the onewho decided not to fall in love with anyone.

Meanwhile, Angeline was on pins and needles as she faced Evander. Every second she spent with liimfelt torturous to her.

However, she couldn't act out of character with so many people looking at her, so she simply nodded athim.

Then, putting on a warm smile, she said, “It's an honor to have you here. Mr. Golding."

The change occurred so fast that it was as though they had never broken up or even met before.

Even Evander couldn't help but narrow liis eyes dangerously.

Angeline's actions made liim see her in a different light.

“There's no need to be that polite, Ms. Sorelle. This is not our first meeting, after all." As he spoke withliis deep, magnetic voice, he smiled teasingly. “You invited me to plenty of dinners before. It's onlynatural that I come bearing a gift.”

The smile on Angeline's countenance froze as she cursed Evander in her mind for being too sly. Whendid I shamelessly invite him to multiple meals? He was the one who brought Floretta to freeload onfood when he had nothing to do! Is he intentionally saying that in front of everyone as payback?

“Angeline may be stubborn, but that's also her strength. I hope she didn't trouble you. Mr. Golding." Agentle, masculine voice rang out right then.

It was then everyone noticed Hanson had left his room in a high-class suit, which made him appearextraordinarily graceful.

Compared to before, he seemed much more mature and disciplined.

Standing in front of Evander, he stretched liis hand toward liim with a smile. “Forrester Group is acompany jointly owned by Angeline and me. Hence, I have the right to participate in this event. If youhave any requests, just let me know7.”
