“Fine. Go ahead and call the police. They will seek justice for ordinary people like us!”

The leader of the group slapped her thigh and sat down on the spot. She wailed, “What a bunch ofbullies! Sorelle Group killed my husband, yet they are still delaying the compensation as well as thecourt case!”

Immediately afterward, she took out some certificates from her bag and presented them in front of themedia. “Everyone, take a look at these. My late husband’s name was Craig Carter. He died in vain onthe construction site just to take the blame for Sorelle Group. In the past six months…”

The woman angrily complained that she was left alone to take care of the two children after herhusband’s death. Furthermore, she had to look after her eighty-year-old mother. Because of all that,she was desperately in need of the compensation.

Much to her dismay, Sorelle Group did nothing to compensate for her loss.

In an instant, the whole place erupted into chaos once again.

The reporters kept pushing their cameras in front of Joseline’s and Hanson’s faces as people continuedto hurl insults at the duo.

“Enough! Stop filming me!” Hanson roared. He had never been humiliated like this before. Reachingout in a fit of anger, he shoved the camera away.

Seeing Hanson’s aggression, the reporters decided to add fuel to the fire. “Look! The CEO of YiurkGroup is venting his anger on someone because of his guilty conscience!”

Hanson’s expression instantly darkened like a raging storm. Balling his hands into fists, he suppressedhis rising anger and left the scene with Joseline one after another.

Seeing that, Angeline turned off the television.

Nancy was perplexed. “Why don’t you continue watching?”

“It’s pointless to do so,” Angeline replied in a deep voice.

“You must be feeling great seeing this pair of scoundrels suffer like this.” Nancy stretched her back andlet out a chuckle. “Since both Yiurk Group and Sorelle Group have suffered such a huge blow, you’reone step closer to reclaiming your shares.”

“It isn’t the right time yet.”

A smirk crept up Angeline’s face as she got up from the couch. She walked to the floor-to-ceilingwindow, fixing her contemptuous gaze at the neon lights not far away.

You reap what you sow. Even Lady Luck is on my side. Everyone will now see Joseline’s true colors. Iwonder if Hanson still wants to marry her. Let’s see if Grandpa can accept the fact that his mostbeloved granddaughter has such a vicious personality!

Angeline could not help but feel pleased at the thought.

Turning around, she leaned her back against the floor-to-ceiling window. Since the windows were notshut, a gentle breeze blew in through the gaps, making her feel comfortable.

Angeline took out her phone from her pocket and found Jonathan’s number.

She texted: Did you hire those women?

Soon, he replied: No, I didn’t hire them. They really have debts to collect from Joseline.

His reply affirmed Angeline’s suspicion.

Jonathan was indeed behind this. However, the accusations from those women were true. Joseline didbreak the law!

A layer of sweat covered her palm as she gripped the phone tightly. She began to realize just howterrifying Jonathan could be.

How did he manage to get hold of so much information? Just how deep is his grudge against Hansonfor him to do such a merciless thing?

Meanwhile, Hanson had to shower repeatedly in the bathroom to get rid of the stench on his body.Then, he came out wearing a new set of clothes.

The assistant walked over and explained solemnly, “I have bad news, Mr. Yiurk. The stock prices ofYiurk Group have plummeted after the chaos earlier. Things aren’t looking great at the moment.”

Flipping through the sales performance report handed over by the assistant, Hanson gritted his teethas his face contorted in anger.

He was planning to use this month’s performance to hype up the anniversary celebration whilereclaiming the bid of Project Serenity from Evander’s hands at the same time.

However, the situation took a turn for the worse.

All my efforts are now in vain!

Hanson became more irritated at the thought. “What’s the point of hiring you guys if you’re just waitingfor me to deal with it? Contact the other major departments and tell everyone to work overtime tonight,”he ordered coldly.

“Yes, sir!”

After the assistant had left, Hanson went to his desk and switched on his computer to work.

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door before entering the office. It was Joseline.

“Get out!” Hanson ordered coldly without sparing her a glance.

Joseline shuddered at his thunderous voice. Biting her lip, she took a few steps forward and stood infront of his desk. “Hanson, are you still mad at me? I know I did something wrong. However, I was leftwith no choice,” she uttered pitifully.

“You still insist on denying it, don’t you?”

Hanson took the sales performance report on the table and flung it at her. “Look at the losses you’vecaused just for that tiny profit!”

Joseline did not dare to look at the report. Instead, she walked to Hanson’s side and sat on his lapbefore he could say anything.

“Hanson, please give me another chance. Help me and Sorelle Group think of a way to solve this,” shepleaded.

Joseline deliberately unbuttoned her clothes and rubbed her body against Hanson’s arm from time totime. Nevertheless, her seduction failed miserably as he grabbed her arm and clenched it tightly.

“I’m warning you. You’d better be honest with me. If Yiurk Group suffers huge losses because of thismatter, I’ll publicly break off our engagement!”

Joseline was startled by his threat as a trace of terror flashed across her eyes.

She had never seen Hanson this furious before. Worse, she could not stand it when he threatened tobreak off their engagement.

“No! We can’t break off the engagement. Hanson, I’m willing to use fifteen percent of Sorelle Group’sshares to make up for your losses,” Joseline stated.

Fifteen percent of the shares…

Hanson’s ears perked up at those words. Since Joseline could not use the twenty percent shares jointlyowned by both of them for the time being, she only had thirty percent of the company’s shares.

If Joseline wanted to give up fifteen percent of her shares, it meant she was willing to sacrificeeverything.

However, she only cared about her designer handbags, and Sorelle Group was bound to be ruined inher hands sooner or later.

If I can get her shares, I will have the capital to compete for the tender of Project Serenity. Is there areason for me not to accept her offer?

Two days later, the filming of the period drama, The Journey, officially started. The entire productionteam members began to arrive one by one.

This show boasted a powerful lineup as the main and supporting characters were all played by veteranactors.

In contrast, Angeline had only burst onto the scene in recent years. Despite that, she directly securedthe role of the lead actress. As a result, people began to discuss among themselves.

“I don’t understand why the investor chose Angeline as the lead actress for The Journey. She musthave brought in a huge amount of start-up funds for the drama.”

“That’s right. She hasn’t been involved in that many shows before this. However, there are a lot ofrumors about her on the internet.”

“Please don’t say that. I’ve seen the movies she played in. She’s a capable actress.”

Angeline glanced around and greeted the director, Derek McKenna, and other actors. She handled thesituation effortlessly.

She was well aware of her current standing in the film crew. Instead of wasting time arguing with them,I should focus on playing my role well.

Right then, a black minivan pulled up in front of the set. The bodyguard opened the door as a youngman in his early twenties got out of the vehicle.

“Sorry for running late.”
