Robert's

POV

When she came to me, I was shocked.

I was very shocked.

I wanted to kiss her, tell her how much I want her back, but... I won't.

I won't be selfish this once.

I will let you live your life without dragging you down with me in this hell.

I let her go because I know that deep inside, that is what she wants.

I don't want her to come back just because she pities me.

If she'll ever return, it should be because she wants me, or she loves-

Damn, stop dreaming.

I got up and threw all of my bottles outside. I will not drink because I promised you, Hailey.

I decided to go back to LO because I need something to keep me distracted. Nothing more than work can keep me far from this.

I reached my office and met Xander. Officially, he is not the CEO, but he said that himself- that he is happy being the president and doing this work. He says that it will keep him working and still down to Earth. Some sentences are incomplete if you are not reading

Transferring the position of CEO from me to him would have caused a lot of mess- both in the media and inside the company. It creates instability. Even if it doesn't in my case, because he is already working, but he doesn't want that, so I am good.

We rarely meet people like him.

I did some work and hell, it worked! She was off my mind for a complete 1 minute and 32 seconds!

I don't know what to do. I did the work anyway. I made some mistakes like writing Hailey's name instead of writing 'Henfield' in the company file.

That only happened 7 times, though.

So, eventually, Xander told me to go back and have rest for some time. Am I jobless now?

Anyway, I went back and had a rest.

I picked up my phone and sighed looking at the caller ID.

"I told you I'll be late" I sighed and got up from the bed. "No. I am just... sleepy"

"Ya, ya. I know. Bye," I cut the call and yawned.

I have been acting all sane and like a normal human for the last week. It has been a quite good week. I think that I can... live without her anyway.

I won't be happy, but I can live, honestly.

I went downstairs and I saw Ron at home. He was looking all color-drained up.

"What's wrong?" I questioned as I sat down on the couch and took out my phone.

"Boss," he said and at once, I looked up. He only says boss when it is serious or is related to MO.

"Hm?"

"It... It is related to Hailey"

I stood up as the phone fell from my hands. "What?"

"B-Boss... actually-"

"Fuck, say it!" I yelled as I always lose it whenever he speaks anything related to her.

"Or, don't," I interrupted. "I told you not to keep tabs on her. I told you to leave her alone"

"I-I know, boss, and I didn't even see her from the past month," he stammered. "But..."

"I don't wanna hear it" I picked up my phone. "I have nothing to do with her. So, skip it" "Its... It is important boss"

I looked at the stubborn man and sighed. "Speak"

He, with trembling hands, took out a paper. He took a deep breath and he gave me the paper. "H-Hailey sent it"

I sighed and looked at the paper.

Am I having a heart attack?

Why is my heart pounding so hard?

"B-Boss-"

"Divorce papers?" I looked at him and he looked down. "You sure she sent them?"

"I-I am sure, boss. I-I know this is hard but..."

Hard?

I will... I will fucking die if this happens.

I know we aren't living together. But this marriage? This marriage is the only thing keeping us together. The only thing tying us, or we will have nothing.

She wanna end this?

I went to the last page.

Under the Wife's signature column on the left, her signature was already done.

I don't know what to do.

If only... if only I hadn't pushed her away that day.

If only I would have been selfish and told her to stay. She would have been here; she would have been with me. If she would have even thought of divorce, I would have talked her out of that. But now?

Why is hell on my side?

"Pen" I ordered Ron as I heard him taking a deep breath. "Don't do this, boss. Talk to her-"

"BRING THE FUCKING PEN NOW!!" I yelled and it worked. He nodded repeatedly and brought a pen from the drawers.

"Boss..."

"Shut up. I can't keep her tied to me anymore if she doesn't want it. She has a life, Ron. Understand..."

He didn't say anything, but I couldn't get myself to sign the paper. I had my pen hovering over it. I had thought of many ways to tear up the paper, but I can't. I won't.

I tried to sign in again, but my heart stopped me. Should I talk to her?

"B-Boss"

I looked up at him. "S-See this" he handed me his phone.

I took the phone. A news channel was on.

Tears rolled down my eyes as I read the lines.

"Ex-wife of CEO of Anderson Corporation reportedly in a relationship with Ervin Hunter. They were seen together recently. They even said that they were thinking of their marriage soon. Well, I guess being a rival of her husband wasn't a big deal for-" I threw the phone away.

So, she is already my ex-wife.

She loves him.

I should sign it.

"Boss..."

But I took the pen again and without thinking again, I signed the papers.
