Hessins Daughter -
Prologue
Ra’vain was a common land. It had its Liege King who lived and ruled in the capitol, Nazeriah. Bearing the sigil of the silver phoenix. There were eight, high ruling houses in Ravain. Hallow Pride the banner of the Rose. Iornridge and it’s cold tower within the southern inland of the Dragons back. Snowheim, the stag to the east. Rynolt the ram and Ravengaurd, the ravens to the North. Upon the coast there was South Port to the far south and North Port to the high northern borders which later became known as Kronborg after invaders took over the seat there.
Ra’vain sat between two wild kingdoms. There was the kingdom in the east, a dense, dark and very dangerous jungle terrain. The natives there were called the Abnaki and they were Just as fierce, just as deadly and just as cunning as the jungle they lived in. Twenty years ago the Kingdom of Ra’vain won a great victory over the war against the Abnaki invaders and as the spoils of war went they took over and divided the eastern lands amongst the eight high houses and their liege king. Settling this land would take many years of trials, failures and eventual success requiring the stewards of the main houses to learn how to adapt to this strange and foreign land
To the North were the Wilds. The Northern Wilds as they were called. A place only inhabited by barbarians and uncivilized people. No boarders were found in these cold wastelands, blighted by snow, Ice and some would even whisper, Cannibales!
Another legend that came from the north were the stories of the mighty dragons that once walked freely upon the lands of Ra’vain and now only remnants of their history was found upon the southern coast. South Port.
They say that, a very long time ago Dragons ruled these lands. They nested here and lived in...well...relative peace. Like any warring kingdom they had their rebels who fought over the powers of leadership. Within some religions - they say that the dragons were the very beginning. The creators of the world.
The people of South Port and La Seine worship two gods. The dragons of Earth & Heaven. The people believe that dragons are still among them to this day. Hidden and sleeping until the day is deemed right for their return. Some say that the Dragons of Earth & Heaven will go to war and the destruction left behind from their fiery battles would cleanse the physical and celestial lands until one Is left standing in victory. If the mother Dragon of Earth were to win, there would be a terrible time of poverty and hardship. Magic would become lost and the elements would challenge its children. If the Father dragon of heaven were to win a wound would open up and celestial magic would rain down upon the land, inviting vast and great powers to the people...as well as demons seeking to control it, bringing disharmony and chaos into the lands. And then there are some...Some that hold to faith that the Dragons of Earth & Heaven would end their wars in truce and peace would bless the lands.
The strongest believers of this faith were the Locien Clergy. The Locien (Lock-ee-ehn) - Elvish for Draco or Dragon. Was first practiced by the Elven’kin which soon expanded to those of “The First Tribes” which later became known as the folks of South Port and La Seine. The Lord La Seine was Fathered by Ser Ryu La Seine. ‘La Seine’ was a derivative of Locien The son of Locien (The son of Dragons). Fathered and Mothered by Laire & Tuileere the first son and daughter of Atar and Amil, the very first dragons in history. The mother and the father.
It is also said that the mother and father had four children. Two Sons, both twins and Two daughters also twins.
Tuileere was the eldest of the four brothers and sisters often represented as the goddess of Spring, the color green, and nature itself. It is said that it was Tuileere who created the Elven’kin of the Dark Forest. And mothered Ser Ryu with her Twin brother Laire.
Laire represented as the god of Summer, the color red and of the elements of fire. Laire was a born leader and incubated with his sister in the hottest of fire. He hungered for chaos and conflict and was easily amused by the violence of mankind. With his powers of summer he crafted nymphs of fire and demons of steel to help aide and tempt the mortal kind into further conflict of war, leaving behind the scorching hot seasons of summer.
Yaavie the goddess dragon of fall, the color of silver and the power of the wind. She was the second daughter: Yaavie was known as the huntress of harvest. Taking many shapes she gave the bounty of foods and resources to the land. She is often seen in the form of a White Stag with the largest and mightiest rack of horns ever seen upon a beast. She also playfully created little nymphs that often cause trouble to travelers. Wisps of light that lead people astray, treelings; tiny nymphs made of wood that often invade traveler camps and in their mass of numbers and chaos not only destroy the camp but thief the belongings in it. Yaavie is also known for the creation of beautiful songs.
Hessin the god of winter, the color of blue and father of water (He is known by the Ruce and Salt Men religion as the ‘Mother Sea’) He was the second son and twin too Yaavie: Hessin was a wild and boisterous Dragon. Known for his love and host of banquets and parties. He was a lustful and passionate dragon who cared naught for boundaries.
It was said that there was a night of great chaos and ruin when some of the dragons were unkind to the humans and a great division in their warren was constantly battled over until one day, the four dragons, Daughters and sons of Atir and Amil rose up and took charge of the young uprising. Striking a deal with the new Lord La Seine and commanding all dragons into an age of rest. One by one, some reluctantly, all retreated to their lairs and fell asleep. Never to be heard from again. No one knew where the dragons went, but rumors were told that Hessin was found in the Wild Norths and that he had a daughter. No one knew for sure weather the old texts were true, and in time, they became nothing more than stories.
