**Kataleya's POV**

Wolves were fighting everywhere. I had tried to keep my eyes on Justin, but I had lost him in thechaos of the wolves tearing each other apart.

I felt a presence from behind and noticed Oliver's dark grey wolves rushing to get to my side.

I barely made it out of the way as one of the wolves tried to attack my left flank. The moment Idodged, I aimed for his throat, going for the easy kill. My goal was to kill. Today was not the day to“play” with my prey. I felt searing pain rushing up my side. Fuck, I could tell Justin was injured, but Iwas not able to see him.

I saw Aziel and Gael approaching from the other side. “Gael, go replace Alpha Justin and help him. Keepan eye on him and alert me if I am needed.’ I commanded through the link.

He whimpered as he fought my command. “Alpha,’ he begged through the link, “Alpha Justincommanded me to stay near you. I am not going to let you out of my sight. You are my priority. Hetold me to tell you that he would be fine and you could be made at him later. I can’t disobey hiscommand. He pushed the full weight of it on me. I am sorry, Alpha.’

He tilted his head in submission. I looked at the other two and I could tell by the look in their eyesthat they had been commanded too. Fuck. The fucking bastard knew I would do this, so he did thenext thing. He prevented me from fully commanding them.

“Fine. First chance, you see him, you tell me how he is doing. I don't care how bad it is. I need toknow, Gael."

He nodded his head and I could tell his wolf let out a sigh of relief when he realized I was not goingto force the command over him.

Another wolf attacked me from the right side and was able to scratch and tear into my side. Fuck, Ihissed as Skye let out a loud roar, causing the ground to feel like it was shaking. She was pissednow.

We tore through the rogues, helping our warriors as needed. Occasionally, I would feel painradiating from different parts of my body and I could tell Justin was hurting. I recognize the fewtimes he must have gotten severely injured because he had tried to block me from our bond. Thefirst time it happened, I yelled through the link. I will be damned if he hides what is happening fromme. I would be damned if he died during this attack, simply because I could not feel his emotionsand pain.

I side-stepped another wolf that had attacked me from the side. Before I could even retaliate, Oliverand Aziel stepped to my flanks and worked together to take him down. The rogue did not stand achance with him.

I felt another wave of pain radiating through my spine and my left flank, to the point it was startingto hurt to walk. Fuck, I need to replace my mate. I could tell he needed my help.

Every time we cleared out some of the rogues, it felt as if there were five more that were coming totake the old ones’ place. We needed more reinforcements.

I called for a code red through the link, alerting every pack member to take shelter in case any ofthese rogues slipped and demanding that any available warrior that was not on patrol come to theeastern border to help their brothers and sisters.

The moment I spotted Justin, I felt a gut-wrenching pain in my left flank. Fuck! One of the rogueshad latched onto my flank and, chewing through the bone. Skye let out a howl as we fought to getthe rogue off of my left.

He finally released my flank as another rogue tackled me to the ground. I quickly pushed him offand jumped back to my feet. They both stalked towards me and lunged at the same time. I bent mypaws and jumped straight into the air. I heard a loud crunch as the two of them collided together.Good, they missed me.

The moment my feet touched, though, I struggled to stand upright due to the pain in my left flank, but I worked through the pain. I could not let anything slow me down. My pack was counting onme. Justin was counting on me. I lunged towards the first one, my teeth wrapping around his jaw asI bit down. I felt his blood gush into my mouth as the rogue continued to struggle to get out of mygrasp. The moment that the rogue went limp, I dropped him to deal with his other buddy, who wasgetting to his feet.

The rogue rushed at me and I dodged to the left before quickly turning and throwing myself on topof him. He struggled under my weight as he tried to shake me off, but was unsuccessful in doing so.I was struggling to hold on and I could feel my resolve slipping. Something was wrong. I could feelit. I felt through the bond and realized I could no longer feel Justin. It had me frantically searchingthe field looking for him. I would have felt him die. My heart was pounding rapidly in my chest. While I wasn't paying attention, another rogue jumped onto my back, making me fall from therogue that I was currently on. Crap, I thought as I tumbled to the ground.

The rogue was too heavy and I was not able to get up. I could feel the pain seeping in from wherehis claws had me. I continued to struggle against him the best I could before I slowly felt my resolvestarting to fade.

“Kataleya, I am sorry. I am struggling to protect us. I am going to force the shift back and use myremaining energy to protect our unborn pup and hopefully I can save it."

Before I could even respond, Skye had already forced us to shift back, causing me to scream out asthe claws of the rogue were suddenly immersed in my flesh.

Next thing I knew, the rogue had been tackled off me and I watched as Aziel tore into his throat, ripping it out.

I could hear Justin screaming my name through the link, but I could not focus on that. Black spotsdanced before my eyes as I fought to keep conscious to help my pack and mate.

I slowly got to my feet, wobbling as I struggled to remain standing, once again searching for Justin. Ifinally spotted him on the other side of the clearing, fighting six wolves at once. I could tell he wasdistracted, searching for me.

I quickly slammed my wall into place, not allowing him to feel my emotions, hoping that would helphim concentrate. I don't want him to feel my pain or register the fact that I am back in my humanform.

“My Alpha, I am fine. Focus on your fight. I will work my way to you.’ I tell him through the link, hoping that will reassure him. I am sure he is getting everything that happened from Aziel. Azielwouldn't lie to him unless I commanded him to lie to him.

I continued to slowly make my way to Justin, dodging as many attacks again.

Suddenly there is a searing pain through the bond, but I cannot tell what happened.

'I love you, my queen.’

The bond suddenly goes black before I feel nothing. I felt the bond sever as I collapsed to theground, screaming out in pain.
