His Beloved Mate -
Chapter 95 The Painting Was Changed
Director Zhen chuckled and said, "Well, I'll wait and see."
Cassie nodded and heard the boarding message from the broadcast of the airport. Director Zhen said goodbye and passed the security check.
As soon as Cassie got home, she fell on the bed.
She muttered, "I haven't exercised for a long time. My whole body is sore."
Although Dylan was teasing her, he rubbed her shoulders and said, "I told you to exercise."
She turned to look at Dylan and said with a silly smile, "Thank you."
The corners of Dylan's mouth lifted into a smirk. "Do you know who your husband is?"
Cassie's face flushed and she didn't say anything.
Suddenly, Cheryl knocked on the door.
Closing her eyes, Cassie said wearily, "Come in."
She sat up, looked at the nervous look on Cheryl's face and asked, "What's wrong with you, my sweetheart? In a hurry?"
With a serious look on her face, Cheryl said, "A Midsummer Night's Dream was replaced by someone in the crew."
Cassie's expression changed abruptly. She asked, "What did you say?! How could it be possible?!"
Cheryl said, "In the first few days, before the work is over every day, the props team will carefully check it. After several days of confirmation, no one will think about it anymore. Just today, the master of the props team took it out and found that there was something wrong with the painting!"
"Have you checked the surveillance video?" Dylan asked calmly.
Cheryl nodded, "Yes, I did, but I didn't replace any clue."
All of a sudden, Cassie's mind was in a mess. A Midsummer Night's Dream was a painting worth a lot of money. She might be able to pay back the fifty million she owed to Dylan, but she might not be able to pay back the one billion for a few lifetimes!
She looked at Cheryl with a pale face. Seeing her like this, Dylan patted her shoulder and said, "It's okay."
Cassie said excitedly, "If I am fine, you will see a ghost, okay?! One billion. I feel sorry for it. Who is so bold to do such a thing in the crew!"
Cheryl said, "I've called the police. I believe that the result will come soon."
"Got it. You can leave now," said Dylan.
Lying on the bed dejectedly, Cassie said with a bitter face, "Capitalist, I owe you more and more money. What should I do?"
"Then give yourself to me." Dylan smiled.
Cassie said, "Are you still in the mood to joke at this time?"
In order to ease her psychological burden, Dylan rubbed her head and said, "Mrs. Dylan, you should know that your husband is not short of money at all."
Cassie knew that he didn't lack money. But after all, A Midsummer Night's Dream was replaced when she filmed 100 Days of Sweet Love. Anyway, she still felt a little guilty.
She said angrily, "I will investigate the result as soon as possible. If I know who has changed the A Midsummer Night's Dream, I will never let him go no matter who it is!" "Then I'll wait for your good news." Dylan chuckled.
With a sigh, she ordered Dylan, "Please rub the shoulders. My shoulders are so sore."
Frowning, Dylan said, "You wish."
Cassie looked at him and flattered, "My husband is the kindest man."
This sentence was very useful to Dylan. He continued to massage her shoulders.
In just eight hours, the news that the painting A Midsummer Night's Dream was stolen spread online and throughout the entire city.
In the crew, with a cold face, Cassie stood on the steps and said, "I don't care how the painting was lost. If you are willing to stand out to admit your mistake and replace the person in the painting, I may persuade my husband not to pursue this matter. But if you miss this opportunity, the police will replace out who replaced the painting. You will suffer a lot."
Standing aside, Betty fiddled with her nails casually.
The director raised his voice and said, "Who did it? Come out. There are still a lot of work to do today. Don't delay the team work because of you!"
Nicki said, "Yes, you'd better confess as soon as possible. Cassie won't mind it."
Cassie looked up at the crew, and everyone looked at each other in silence.
Three minutes later, there was still a dead silence.
She said, "Well, since you don't want to admit it, I have to investigate it!"
In the separate lounge of the crew, Cheryl was doing the investigation with Cassie.
It took them an afternoon to record their confessions.
It was almost five o'clock. The group leader of the props was sitting opposite the table.
Cheryl asked, "Before you left, did anyone see the A Midsummer Night's Dream?"
The group leader of the props thought for a while and said, "Before I left, Miss Betty said she wanted to see what this painting looked like. I didn't think too much and let her see it."
After taking a sip of coffee, Cassie suddenly heard the words of the group leader of the props. She asked in a hurry, "Are you sure?!"
The group leader of the props nodded and said, "Yes. Before I left, only she had seen this painting."
Cassie put the coffee aside and said, "I see. Thank you."
"Is it really Betty?" Cheryl asked, frowning.
As a first-line showgirl, Betty didn't look like a person in lack of money at all?
Cassie said, "Inform the police to investigate her. She is a suspect."
The painting A Midsummer Night's Dream was bought back at the beginning with one billion. If it was really done by Betty, then her career in the entertainment industry would be over. If the amount of money stolen was too high, the person could be sentenced to life imprisonment.
"Okay, I will," said Cheryl. It's getting late. Let's go back first."
Cassie nodded, "Okay."
Not long after Cassie left, the police arrived at the filming site of 100 Days of Sweet Love.
The policeman saw that Betty was reading the script carefully on the chair. He asked, "Are you Miss Betty?"
Raising her head, Betty frowned at the policeman and asked, "Yes, I am. What's wrong?"
The policeman took a look at his colleague, took out the handcuffs and said, "I'm sorry, Miss Betty. You are suspected of stealing the painting A Midsummer Night's Dream that Mr. Dylan has lost. Please come with us."
Betty's face turned livid with rage. "What did you say? I'm suspected of stealing the A Midsummer Night's Dream? Did you make a mistake?"
The policeman replied, "No. Miss Betty, come with us."
Betty pushed him away, "I told you! I didn't do it. Why should I go back with you to accept the investigation?!"
She couldn't go to the police station. If she went with the police, she would surely hit the headlines tomorrow! 000
