I have been awake for the past five minutes, but I’m yet to open my eyes as a result of the brightness of the room. A few minutes later, I finally force my eyes open, and the white blurry ceiling welcomes me.

It takes another two minutes before my vision finally becomes clear, and tilting my head to my right-hand side, I almost jump out of my skin at the sight that welcomes me. There is alpha Ryder, sitting on the chair beside the bed, while resting his head on the bed. It seems like he’s crying, why will he cry?

“You’re awake” he said with a smile and I chuckled. I tried standing up but he beat me to it, he up me up before I could stand up on my own.

“You almost kill me, thank goodness you are awake” he said looking at my face with so much admiration.

“What, is there something on my face?” I asked with a frown.

“Not really, I am just happy you are awake, don’t try to scare me ever again” he said and I nod my head.

“Wait, where’s Reina?” I asked with a frown, I remember her hitting something on my head.

“What! How long have I been sleeping?” I asked and he does some thinking.

“Since forever” he replied with a smile. Did he think I am joking right now?

“I am not joking, how long have I been sleeping?” I asked.

“Since yesterday” he said and I breathe out in relief, I thought I have been sleeping for a month or so.

“Better, where’s Reina? Hope she didn’t go Scott free? She’s lucky I didn’t know when she hit that darn thing on my head” I said with a scoffed.

“She caught you unaware?” Ryder asked and I nod my head.

“I knew it, she’s a coward like her father, why will she hit that thing on your head unaware?” Ryder Said and scoffed.

“Where’s she now? I need to see her” I replied and try to stand up but Ryder pin me down, for what seems like enternity I was lost in his beautiful eyes. I took my hand to his face and caress it gently. His face is so smooth.

“You can touch it as much as you what” he said and as if that bring me back from my dream I push him from me softly.

“I need to go check, Reina I want to show him I am not weak, where is she?” I asked and Ryder scratch the back of his neck nervously, I can feel like that he is nervous. Did he kill her?

“Unfortunately, Reina ran away but my guards are searching for her, they will get her soon” he said with a pout.

“Shît, I thought Landon catch her, she mustn’t escape, how dare her try to hurt me when I do nothing wrong to her!” I said, I was hoping to see her tie on a chair, where’s the paper I saw on the floor, I need to inform Ryder that her father is in the cell, who is his father?

“His father is Ivan” Ryder replied, wait did I say that out loud?

“No you didn’t say it loud my queen” he replied, that means one thing, he read my mind. Gosh! This baby king have been reading my mind.

“Your majesty, did you read my mind?” I asked trying to be calm.

“Yes, my queen, I can’t hello but read your mind to know if you’re going through any pain” be replied and I scoffed.

“That’s a lame excuse, baby king, are you a jerk? Why will you be reading my mind? What if I am thinking something that anybody mustn’t hear” I asked with a frown.

“I am your mate, there’s nothing bad in reading your mind” he replied with a smirk.

“Arrongant king, don’t ever try to read my mind again, I won’t take it lightly with you if you try that again” I said and he left out a smirk.

“You’re smirking at your queen, I was planning to acknowledge you as my mate before, not anymore you’re just arrongant” I said.

“I am not arrongant, I am the most humble person you will ever see” he said with a frown and now is my turn to smirk.

“You’re arrongant, you don’t even have respect for me your queen” I said.

“I am very sorry, my queen you must be very hungry, what will you like to eat?” He asked

“I am not hungry” I replied and the door throw open.

“Your majesty, the park doctor is here” Astrid said, he stop on his track and left out a smile immediately he saw me.

“Your majesty, thank goodness, you are awake, how are you doing now?” He asked.

“I am very fine, where’s Landon?” I asked because my mind is telling me Landon I’d under punishment.

“He isn’t under punishment, but I bet if he is fine” Ryder reply.

“You read my mind again” I said with a glare.

“I am sorry, my queen I won’t try that again” he said, but I am very sure he will do it again.

“What did you do to Landon?” I asked with a frown.

“Ask the park doctor to come inside and also inform her parents that she’s awake they can come inside now” he said and Astrid bow his head before walking away.

“What did you do to, Landon?” I asked with a frown.

“I teach him how to be competent, it seems he’s slacking on his duty, Landon isn’t like this, so I think he’s distracted by something, so I need to bring back the real Landon I know” he said, yeah I guess Landon is distracted because Liza replace his mate.

“You shouldn’t have hurt him, he have been with you since, he is your most trusted guard, I don’t like how you hurt him, it’s unfair” I said and be bring his closer to me, I wonder what he’s trying to do, I close my eyes waiting for whatever he is up to.
