His Eagle Eyes on Me
Chapter 3016

After the meal, Eliam called to inform them that the villa had been cleaned.

Hayden hung up and said to Shelly, "The villa is ready. Let's drive there directly. I will send someone to pick your mom up."

Since they had taken Audrey with them, it was best for them to travel to the villa directly.

Shelly nodded and called her mother to check if all their belongings had been packed.

"Of course everything is packed," Mrs. Taylor said. "When are we moving?"

"The villa is ready now, and I'm heading over there directly. Hayden said he will send someone else to pick you up," Shelly said. "Have you eaten?"

"I don't have an appetite. I've munched on some fruits and snacks at home, so I'm pretty full right now," Mrs. Taylor said. "Forget about me. You two go ahead! Take a photo of the place and send it to me when you arrive."

"Sure."

Hayden and Shelly left the restaurant and got directly into the car, heading towards the villa.

Before long, Audrey fell asleep in her child safety seat.

She had been so excited throughout the day of shopping, playing, and eating to her heart's content, so she drifted into a deep slumber.

Hayden and Shelly sat together in the backseat, and he sat next to the child's safety seat.

Once their daughter fell asleep, he studied her little face.

Shelly could not help but speak up. "I feel like you don't love Aiden as much. Both of them are your children. Are you playing favorites?" "Aiden has so many people doting on him, it's different," Hayden said.

"But my mom and I treat Audrey well, too!" Shelly retorted. "Apart from material things, we have given Audrey a lot of love."

"I didn't say you treat Audrey poorly. She's my daughter. Isn't it natural for me to dote on her?" Hayden finally recalled a common saying. "People say that daughters should be raised in wealth."

"Oh... I think Audrey looks quite a bit like you." Shelly also looked at their daughter. "My mom said the same. What do you think?"

Hayden thought of another common saying and responded, "They say daughters resemble their fathers. Looks like it's true."

"I wonder if her personality is like yours," Shelly softly spoke. "She enjoys laughing. She laughs when you tease her."

"Then she's like you. I'm not fond of smiling," Hayden replied.

"Why don't you like to smile?" Shelly knew that Hayden did not smile much even though they did not spend much time together.

"When I was very young, I knew I didn't have a father," Hayden explained.

"Oh... Aunt Avery mentioned that.

She said she and Uncle were both stubborn and ambitious when they were young, so they broke up and got back together several times," Shelly said.

"Yes. That's why I don't want my child to grow up in a single-parent household," Hayden said.

"You're willing to move your career to Aryadelle for Aiden's sake, so you're a good father. I believe our two children will be very happy," Shelly said.

Hayden did not respond. Though his twins would be loved by both their parents, he knew that his children would still suffer to a certain degree since he was not married to Shelly.

The car drove into the villa's residential compound. Shelly stared at the complex's beautiful landscape in amazement.

Lacking comparison, she had felt

that the old run-down neighborhood she lived in was tolerable, but now looking at the villa's environment, she understood why Hayden had been so dissatisfied with the place she used to rent.

The car stopped in front of a villa, and Hayden said, "We've arrived."

"Oh... Hayden, are you really giving us such a nice house to live in?" Shelly felt like she was dreaming. "Aren't you afraid that we'll make your house look old?"

"Shelly, can you stop asking strange questions? Just do as I ask and behave, all right?" Hayden replied.

Shelly blushed and nodded. "Then I'll carry Audrey out of the car."
