Chapter 378

Evadne found her gaze locked with the man’s fiery eyes, her heart pounding wildly in her chest.

She saw the fragility in his eyes, a delicate vulnerability that was on the brink of breaking, and a madness that he could barely hold in check.

The same look that had her utterly enthralled two years ago, on the night he had passionately made love to her, a night of entwined bodies and shared breaths. “Thaddeus, please, calm down, mmph!”

Evadne’s words were silenced by the man’s fervent k*ss, reminiscent of a hungry beast devouring its prey

His heated l*ps moved over her trembling ones, claiming her sweet taste, as though he wished to consume her every breath.

He wanted her, craved her to the point of madness.

God knew how he survived every day without seeing Evadne. It was a torturous existence, like a soulless being wandering aimlessly.

Evadne let out a soft moan, her breath quickening, her skin heating up.

Once again, she trembled beneath him, her feeble attempts at resisting him proving futile, her hands weakly pushing against his bare chest. To him, it seemed more like an invitation than a rejection.

No, it was more accurate to say that every glimpse of Evadne, even in his dreams, was a lethal temptation he could not resist.

Unable to resist his domineering and cunning k*ss, Evadrie soon found herself deeply entangled with him. Their fervent k*sses even produced a slightly embarrassing, wet sound due to their shared intensity.

Thaddeus moved his rough hand up her leg, exploring boldly.

“No.” Evadne, drenched in sweat, pushed him away.

“Evadne, help me.”

Out of breath, Thaddeus pulled away from her glistening l*ps. “I don’t want anyone else. Only you can save me.”

Only you can save me.

Two years ago, she had been his antidote, his salvation. Now, even after their divorce, they were still tangled up in each other’s fate:

Thaddeus showered her with k*sses, passionate yet rough, growing more frantic with each passing moment. He moved from her l*ps to her delicate chin, her n*eck, her collarbone.

Tears welled up in Evadne’s eyes as she arched her fair–skinned n*eck which revealed a beautiful b*dy line, hugging his head and running her fingers through his halṛ. She could feel his intense love and tenderness for her, a stark contrast to their first time together.

Yes, she was falling for him again.

Once more, she melted under him like a spring breeze caressing a vast river.

Their intertwined silhouettes painted a picture of pure romance.

Evadne’s last memory of the night was of feeling like a ship sailing in his stormy embrace.

Once again, she had become his antidote,

After their lengthy lovemaking session, Evadne was left with a sore b*dy. Her muscles ached, and she could barely stand.

Seeing how potent the aphrodisiac had been, she understood how it had transformed him into a tireless machine, making love to her with sweat pouring down his b*dy. Wrapping herself in a blanket, Evadne slowly sat up, her gaze falling onto the sleeping Thaddeus next to her.

He was still keeping the position where he was holding her in his arms, his face breathtakingly charming.

Evadne bit her l*p slightly, unable to resist reaching out to trace the contours of his face. Her heart pounded in her chest, like a startled deer.

She touched his forehead, which was no longer hot. The drug seemed to have worn off.

Evadne let out a sigh, getting out of bed to pick up her scattered clothes. After some hesitation, she picked up Thaddeus: shirt and put it on.

Back when she was his wife, she would secretly wear his shirts whenever he was away, enjoying the warmth and the unique scent that was distinctly him.

She didn’t expect she would have the same feeling now.

Evadne thought that Thaddeus wouldn’t wake up anytime soon, so she decided to get some water. Once she had rested and finished her water, she would quietly leave as if nothing had happened.

She tiptoed out of the room, drinking some cold water in the kitchen on the second floor to calm her still racing heart.

This man had he been celibate for too long?

What he did was not just making love, but rather tearing her apart, devouring her piece by piece.

With that thought, Evadne’s l*ps, k*ssed to a rosy flush, curved slightly. The cold water she swallowed seemed to have gained some warmth.

She had always been curious about this place. Now that she had the chance to be here, she decided to explore a bit.

The kitchen, the garden, the living room, each area was simply yet warmly decorated, showing the careful thought that had been put into it.

She remembered Acacia taunting her, saying that this villa was a gift from Thaddeus, their love nest.

Really? Was it really?

She had made passionate love to him in their former home.

A pang of pain hit Evadne in the chest, as if an invisible hand was ruthlessly squeezing her heart, making it hard to breathe.

With heavy steps, she walked back to Thaddeus‘ room, intending to get dressed and leave.

The small living room was quiet. Across from the bedroom was the study.

Distracted, Evadne unwittingly walked into the study.

There, she saw a wall filled with picture frames.

Her l*ps tightened as she walked over to the photos, picking up one of them.

In the photo was a boy with a melancholic expression and delicate features. It was a younger Thaddeus.

The woman seated on the vintage couch, hugging the boy, was an absolute beauty with a pair of enchanting eyes.

Eyes flickered, Evadne recognized her as Thaddeus‘ biological mother, her former mother–in–law whom she had never met.

“So pretty.” she couldn’t help but remark.

There was no denying that each of Emeric’s wives were beautiful in their own ways. However, when combined, they still paled in comparison to Thaddeus‘ mother.

Only her own mother could hold a candle to this beautiful woman.

Indeed, men were all douchebags. Once they had them as their girlfriends or wives, they never thought of cherishing them. Thaddeus‘ mother was infinitely more beautiful than Elspeth, yet Frederic had still cheated on her. How tasteless!

Evadne looked at a couple of other photo frames. They were either photos of Thaddeus and his mother or his mother’s portraits.

Just as she was about to leave the study, she saw a familiar face.

Acacia.

It was Acacia.

With trembling hands, Evadne picked up one of the picture frames. It was a photo of a young Acacia and Thaddeus.

Both were dressed in their matching high school uniforms. Acacia was laughing, her head tilted against Thaddeus‘ broad shoulder. They looked so well–matched, like childhood sweethearts, innocent and carefree.

Suddenly, Evadne felt as if she had been plunged into an ice–cold cellar. She was enveloped in a bone–chilling cold, her shoulders shaking slightly.

She had thought that Acacia was a thing of the past, that she wouldn’t be hurt by this woman anymore.

But seeing this picture, she could feel herself sinking into a vortex of pain, so powerless that she could barely save herself.

One should never meet someone too dazzling when they were young.

This applied to her, and to Thaddeus as well.,

Just then, the sound of the door being pushed open came from behind her.
