His Ex wife is a billionaire Chapter 501
Chapter 501
In the soft moonlight, a subtle, sweet fragrance wafted through the bedroom.
Thaddeus’s sculpted abs tensed beneath him as he gazed down at the woman straddling his hips with an intensity that could shatter the serene night into fragments.
If only he could meld her into his very marrow, fuse her into his scorching blood.
“Mmm. I haven’t done this before. Don’t be disappointed if I’m not good at it,” whispered Evadne, her delicate hands resting on Thaddeus’s heaving chest, her l*ps pursed with shy anticipation.
Thaddeus’s hands gripped her slender, fair legs, trying to mask his excitement, his fingers turning her skin pink with restraint.
He never imagined her “reward” would be taking the lead.
Sure, they’d made love countless times, with him always in the driver’s seat, pouring every ounce of his strength into making it perfect for her.
But now, the tables had turned. How could he not be thrilled?
“Is it like this?” asked Evadne, her cheeks flushing as she gently inquired.
Thaddeus’s breathing was steady, but the quiver in his muscles and the feverish look in his eyes betrayed his fervent response.
“Evadne, don’t force yourself,” his voice was husky with desire.
Closing her eyes, Evadne shook her head, “Isn’t it good to try something new?”
“Of course, it’s just I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable,” Thaddeus’s voice trembled slightly.
“Silly.”
She leaned down, her finger tracing his l*ps in a light circle, “We both have our strengths and weaknesses. Just guide me if I need it.”
After a night of passionate entanglement, Evadne felt like she had given half her life.
It was exhausting!
Lying back was so much more comfortable!
By the end, she could barely keep her eyes open, and Thaddeus was insatiable, he even seemed to help clean her up afterward.
Was he some sort of energizer bunny? So full of life and vigor.
The next day.
Evadne didn’t wake until the sun was high in the sky, her b*dy aching so much she could hardly crawl out of bed.
“Keep a close eye on things,” Thaddeus’s deep, magnetic voice reached her ears.
Evadne turned over, her eyes bleary as she admired his broad back from the bedside.
The next second, her heart skipped a beat, and she buried her blushing face into the covers.
Thaddeus’s back was marked with fresh, red scratches, evidence of the previous night’s fervor.
“Awake?”
He turned, his gaze tender as he stroked her cheek, “I’ve asked Alva to whip up something delicious for you. Rest a bit more. You must be worn out from last night.”
“Yeah.”
FFS IE? FOS
Evadne blinked sleepily. Her voice was soft and lazy, “Who were you on the phone with? Gordon?”
Thaddeus lay beside her, and as Evadne snuggled into his embrace, he circled his arms around her protectively, “I’m having Gordon keep up the pressure on the Chambers Group online, letting them ‘enjoy‘ the spotlight.”
“Well done,” Evadne pecked his cheek, her voice bright.
He smiled contentedly, “Another thing, the Chambers family is making their move.”
“Oh? What are they up to?” Evadne’s interest was piqued.
“They’re planning a press conference to clear up the incident at the club.”
“Clear up? More like disown. I bet.” Evadne chuckled, drawing hearts on his chest.
“With Edgar down, it’s not just their efforts that’s ruined. They’re all on edge, afraid of the fallout.”
Thaddeus’s eyes flashed coldly, “To show their sincerity, the Chambers Group will call a press conference as soon as possible, probably within the next couple of days.”
“Hmph, Edgar may be corrupt beyond forgiveness, but the Chambers family’s refusal to own up is just despicable.”
“Don’t worry, Evadne. I promised to avenge Nydia, and I won’t stop easily. Anyone who hurts you or your loved ones will pay back a thousandfold.” Thaddeus clenched his jaw, a fierce sound emanated from it.
Listening to his strong heartbeat, Evadne was filled with happiness.
She loved Thaddeus for his sense of justice, his fearless righteousness. They shared values, both with hearts full of light and love.
Thaddeus took her tender hand, noticing her numb little finger, and felt a pang of distress in his chest, “Evadne, what happened to your finger? Can you tell me?”
“It’s nothing, just an old tree climbing accident. It doesn’t get in the way,” she assured him with a smile, trying to keep it light, “I’m a grown woman now. Don’t be so worried all the time. Relax, we have a long life ahead. You’ll give yourself a heart attack at this rate.”
“Because it’s about you,” Thaddeus murmured, k*ssing her forehead.
He thought, “Because it involves you, even the smallest detail echoes endlessly in the depths of my heart.”
“Thaddeus, I know you’ve been carrying guilt and regret over the past, even struggling to face me. But I don’t like seeing you this way.”
The sourness in Evadne’s heart threatened to spill as she caressed his chiseled cheek, “I know what it’s like to feel so low in front of someone you love. I don’t want you to go through that, to doubt or torment yourself. We’ve come together after much difficulty, and I want our relationship to be healthy and bright, just like any other couple–simple and pure.”
She had done everything to win his love, a pain so deep she would wake from dreams crying.
She loved him and didn’t want him to walk her painful path.
Thaddeus understood more than she could know. His heart ached as he propped himself on one arm, the veins in his arm standing out, and he captured her l*ps once more.
It was another session of passionate entanglement, at times fierce, at others tender.
Evadne felt light–headed, her b*dy languid as if she were floating into the clouds.
“Evadne, once I’ve wrapped up things with the Chambers Group, let’s go abroad,” Thaddeus whispered into her ear, “We’ll have a real adventure. Didn’t you say you wanted to see the snowy mountain? I’ll take you there.”
Her eyelashes quivered as she breathed out a soft “okay.”
Being part of the medical community herself, she was aware of a renowned gynecologist there.,
Thaddeus was always incredibly kind to her, but deep down, he was not the type to indulge in leisurely pursuits or play the romantic. His sudden suggestion to travel must have a purpose.
He wanted to take her to see a doctor. Even if there was no hope, he wanted to try.
She understood his intentions and his feelings. If this could give him some peace of mind, then she was willing to go along with
- it.
Arnold had gathered solid evidence, so from the moment Edgar stepped into the courthouse, he was doomed to never see the light of day again.
Bertha, usually so domineering and brash, found herself abandoned at the critical moment, avoided as if she were a harbinger of plague.
With no other option but to follow her father and brother’s orders to hold a press conference and publicly apologize on behalf of the Chambers Group, she felt utterly humiliated.
Why should she, a woman, be subjected to such disgrace!
The men of the Chambers family, her own flesh and blood, had pushed her into the spotlight in their time of need, hiding cowardly behind her. Was this the act of honorable men?
The press conference was set for the day after tomorrow.
These days, Bertha was living a nightmare, plagued by loss of appetite, insomnia, and irritability. Every second was agony.
She had spent the entire afternoon drowning her sorrows in the wine cellar. Thinking about how her years of hard work had crumbled away, she broke down in tears in the solitude of the cellar.
“Instead of crying here, why not ponder what led to this mess?”
Bertha’s sobs stopped abruptly as she saw Avery approach with a smirk.
“Why? What happened?”
“Indeed, what happened?”
Avery nonchalantly sat across from her, poured himself a glass of red wine, and said, “You’ve been covering for Mr. Gardner well, and despite his shady dealings and accepting bribes over the years, it never came to light. Everything was fine. So why did it all fall apart now? Why now, of all times?”
“Why,” Bertha slurred, her mind muddled by the alcohol.
“Don’t you remember what you’ve done recently?”
A single sentence brought realization to Bertha, “Is it the Ashbourne family? Are they after me?”
“Not completely hopeless, then.”
Avery sipped his wine leisurely. “Mr. Gardner’s indiscretions aside, the Ashbourne family had no reason to target him. This means, from the start, their sights were set beyond him.”
“The Ashbourne family, are they coming for me?” Panic spread across Bertha’s face as she staggered to her feet, knocking over her chair.
“Now, dear sister, you’re truly surrounded by enemies. Even if you do hold that press conference and grovel for the Chambers. Group, what does it matter? What you’ve lost won’t be returned. And do you think the Ashbourne family will let you off easily? Targeting your man was just the beginning; soon, you’ll be in deep trouble.”
Bertha clutched her head in terror, her hysterical screams echoing through the cellar.
Avery plugged his ears, watching her as if she were a madwoman.
“No, it’s not my fault. I didn’t do anything, it was all my brother, they can’t blame me, they can’t do this to me!”
Babbling, Bertha dashed out the door.
Shortly after, Harvey strolled in from outside and poured Avery a drink.
“Mr. Chambers, what’s that lunatic up to now?“.
“If I’m not mistaken, she’s off to confront the Ashbourne family.”
“What?”
Harvey was shocked. “The Ashbourne family just had a fallout with the Chambers Group, and now she’s going to stir up trouble? Isn’t that just going to make things worse?“,
“No matter, she is on behalf of herself. Whatever mess she makes is her own doing. How does it concern me?”
Avery drank contentedly, a sly glint in his eye, “Let her go. She’s bound to humiliate herself. What I want is for her to be consumed by hatred. Once it reaches its peak, she’ll become a ticking time bomb, and some folks are in for a rude awakening”
