Chapter 516

“Evadne, what have you figured out?” Thaddeus asked with urgent concern.

Jareth and Lily watched anxiously, their eyes fixed on her as if she held the answer to some

unspoken riddle.

“Gordon’s analysis is correct. Given Avery’s sinister nature, he could easily eliminate Eden without leaving a trace! And now, he has long been brewing his plan. It’s just that the crucial tool for the operation was delivered only now!”

While the others still looked confused, Thaddeus’s mind raced ahead, quickly caught her meaning.

“The tool? Is it that private jet?”

Evadne nodded, her gaze intense with urgency, “On the ground, Avery can’t make his move, but in the sky, that’s another story! Once that plane takes off, even with our keen eyes, we won’t be able to stop him. He can do whatever he wants!

It was chilling, and yet, it was a brilliant move.

“Sis, you’re brilliant, like a goddess descended to earth!” Jareth applauded, seemingly ready to worship.

“Don’t flatter me; we need to come up with a plan quickly,” Evadne said, her voice heavy with the weight of the situation.

“Gordon, from now on, increase the manpower and closely monitor Avery’s plane! If he makes a move, we must intercept him at once!” Thaddeus commanded, his presence as formidable as a winter storm.

“At your command, Mr. Thaddeus!”

In the past, Mr. Thaddeus was an invincible business tycoon, a noble king in the corporate world.

However, in Evadne’s presence, whether being her strategic adviser or her front–line general, he willingly bowed to her.

“What if the plane takes off before we can stop it? Should we shoot Eden down with a cannon?” Jareth asked, his face/earnest, though the question sounded absurd.

“Eden is the number one wanted criminal in two countries. If that happens, I’ll inform Bennett and Aaron to get the military and police to join forces,” Evadne stated confidently, her red l*ps curving slightly, her eyes steady and composed, “Even if he flies into the skies, I have a way to bring him down!”

The expressions on the faces of the three men were nothing short of impressive.

With Bertha in prison and Byron captured, as Thaddeus predicted, Matthew’s situation was indeed precarious, like walking on thin ice.

Furthermore, Avery’s injection of his accumulated “secret funds” from years of “hard work” in Helgen saved the stock of the Chambers Group. This garnered Jeff’s favor, leading to the emergence of a “pro–Avery group” within the company.

Some executives and shareholders were gradually leaning towards Avery!

Matthew’s days were growing tougher by the moment.

But he hadn’t given up; even if he had to endure severe hardships, he was determined not to let that bastard ride roughshod over him!

So, Matthew devised a plan to reduce Byron’s sentence as much as possible.

He knew that his father favored Thaddeus, not only because he had spent the most time by his side, but also because Thaddeus had always known how to charm and flatter, keeping the old man in good spirits. Therefore, Jeff was devastated by the arrest of his second son. Therefore, Matthew found Jeff, warm words of comfort, “Rape is not a big crime, let’s replace someone to operate, Byron will be sentenced to three or four years at the most, and he will be out.”

“Three or four years? You think I’m legally blind?!”

Although Jeff thought Byron put them in public making them shameful and embarrassing, that was after all his favorite son, he was still worried about him day and night.

“He’s been with underage girls! Rape underage, he would have to do at least ten years! Why would he go after kids when he could have any woman he wants? What a foolish mistake!”

Matthew fell silent for a moment, then spoke with a heavy voice, “You’re right, Dad. Our Chambers family is one of the top four in Elmsworth, able to stand toe–to–toe with the Abernathy group. Are all these women who got close to Byron really innocent?”

Jeff frowned, “Matthew, what do you mean by that?”

“Among those girls, some are Byron’s ex–girlfriends, some were paid to accompany him, and some are willingly offered themselves, attempting to climb the social ladder to become the mistress of a wealthy family. The cops only have part of the evidence. But if no one comes forward as a witness, or if those so–called witnesses are unreliable, there won’t be enough evidence to convict him. Byron won’t have to serve a long sentence.”

Matthew’s words didn’t need further explanation, and as a seasoned individual, Jeff fully understood.

Pleased with his eldest son’s plan, Jeff refocused the entrusted responsibilities on his face.

“Matthew, it’s in your hands. Just handle it this way!”

Jeff commanded, entrusting him with the task.
