Soon after Rhea hung up the phone, someone called her to the laboratory. Since it was so abrupt, she felt uneasy and thought something was up.

The truth was that she had her own plans-if she could develop the invisibility potion and her hypnotic drug could work consistently, she would no longer need Fred. With those two creations, she could secure her safety and go anywhere she liked.

The immortality experiment was absurd to her because it was impossible to integrate two human beings, no matter how compatible they were. Even organ transplants faced rejection issues, let alone a major surgery like that.

Of course, she would never share her opinion with Fred because he firmly believed in the experiment and would not listen to her anyway.

Besides, making the queen immortal was all he cared about-an obsession that puzzled Rhea.

'Can he ensure a lifetime of wealth and glory by doing this? Why wouldn't he try to achieve immortality himself? It puzzles me why an ambitious and scheming man like Fred is so adamant about the experiment.'

With those thoughts in mind, Rhea reached the laboratory. She was surprised to see several people there as well, all looking serious as Fred stood among them.

"Well, it looks like everyone's here." Fred glanced at Rhea and gestured for everyone to be seated.

"Tomorrow, we'll be conducting a monumental experiment, which you guys have worked so hard for." Fred looked around and said, "Those who have made it this far have proved to be exceptionally talented and loyal to me.

"Rest assured, you will all receive handsome rewards once the experiment succeeds. Furthermore, you will leave your mark in history and be remembered by the entire world!" he proclaimed enthusiastically, spreading his arms.

If it were before, Rhea would be excited and start to envision a bright future. However, after going through so much, she now thought Fred was more like the leader of a pyramid scheme.

Despite his speech, he was the one who would reap the benefits of everyone else's hard work. As he had once abandoned those in the research center, Rhea could not help but wonder how many more people Fred would ditch again when the experiment succeeded.

Therefore, she only gazed quietly at Fred as others cheered.

"From now on, you all must stay here and prepare for it." After a pause, he added, "You can only return home after the experiment succeeds."

"Huh?" The others exchanged baffled looks. "Why?"

"Your Grace, why can't we leave? The experiment is tomorrow, right?"

"Yeah, can't we return to our rooms to rest at least? We won't leave the embassy."
