UNEDITED

The next morning, Sabrina woke with a splitting headache. She turns her head to look at the clock on her night stand. She hit the snooze button twice already and now had less than twenty minutes to leave. She just started working at Hawkins this last month and didn't need to screw up something else that was great in her life. She hops off he bed quickly and runs into the shower.

She spent most of the last year wishing Nathan would ask her to come back home. She didn't want to get a job, or start school. She believed that maybe Nathan would come to his senses. She realized now that, that was stupid. Very stupid. She was in denial. She knew that once she moved on and began to start a new life she would have to accept that her marriage was over.

She dresses in skinny jeans and a v-neck tight fitted magenta blouse. She then headed downstairs to the kitchen which looks over to the living room where Mariel stood in front of the tv. She was wearing her green scrubs and was sipping on a cup of coffee. "Nathan's on the tv." She announces.

Sabrina had just gotten herself out of a very deep whole. Everyday for almost a year that she and Nathan have been separated she checked all the entertainment news, tabloid trash, and the papers. Then when the scandal from their divorce was old news, she began flipping through all the business channels. She was obsessed with knowing about him.

The closest thing she's seen about him was stocks for Alden enterprises. Now that she was trying to let it go, he was suddenly on the tv everyday.

"Why are you watching this?" She turns her back from the tv and pours herself a glass of orange juice.

"This is local news. Alden enterprises is going to start making ship parts." She explains in disbelief.

She wasn't surprised. Nathan talked about wanting to expand the company. He wanted to make car and truck parts. Even so grand as to make a Alden's own car line. He wanted to take over the whole transportation business. He was so incredibly smart and ambitious. It was a very attractive quality.

She turns around and slowly lifts her eyelids to the interview. Nathan was leaned back on the white cozy looking sofa he was sitting in. He rested one hand on the arm rest and the other on his thigh. The interviewer was a beautiful brunette, who looked to be in her early thirties. Her legs were crossed and she was leaning toward Nathan as if she wanted to tell him a secret.

"Will Alden's enterprises possibly be building ships?" He reads the cards she has in her hand.

"Yes that's very possible." He kept his face neutral as he answered. "We will be focusing on perfecting the quality of our parts first."

She looks away from the screen and found her mother staring at her.

"Don't get sucked in again sweetie." Mariel puts on her jacket and kisses her daughter."I have to go now. Lock the door on your way out." She adds as she leaves the houses and closes the door.

Sabrina grabs the remote from near her and turns the tv off. It was too much at one time. Seeing him knowing she would never be with him again would never be easy for her. He made it very clear that he would never be with her again. He never wanted to see her again. His eyes were cold. Something she's never seen from him before. She looks at the time on the cable box. Grabbing her jacket, shoes, and bag she hurries out the door. Sabrina's Flashback

It has been a few weeks since Desmond was caught and put in jail for life. He was sentence to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Once they no longer had the distraction of putting away Auden's killer, they tried to get back to get back to a normal life.

Sabrina had a doctors appointment at her gynecologist.

She wanted to get checked and make sure that everything was okay.

She laid back on examining table staring at the smoky white ceiling waiting on the doctor when suddenly the room door opens. She thought it was her doctor but wasn't.

"Nathan!" Her eyelids open wide. It was her husband.

He barges in the room. "Why didn't you tell me about this appointment?" He demands an answer from her. His tie and black jacket were missing. His hair was slightly messy and the first few buttons of his shirt unbuttoned.

"I..."

She wasn't herself since the incident. She was quiet, and distant. She didn't want to talk, or be around anyone. She was also angry. Angry that her child never got a chance at life. Angry at God. Angry at herself for thinking that anything good could come from a forced marriage. She just needed space. Nathan seem to get the drift because he started working more.

"I didn't think you would want to come to this one. It's not like I'm pregnant anymore."

"What is your problem?" He runs fingers through his hair. "Why do you want to pick a fight with me?"

"I'm not, it's just." She bites her lips. "not as important for you to come with me since, I'm no longer pregnant."

"You are important to me.."I don't care if it's a paper cut." He sits on the chair near the examining table and holds her hand. "Don't push me away Sabrina. We both lost our son."

She knew she was pushing him away but couldn't help it. She was angry.

She used to talk to her father everyday, always letting him know that he was in her memory at least once at day. Ever since Auden's death she hasn't spoken to him. She was bitter at the world.

She forces a smile at him and nods her head. She had to control her emotions.

He ends there little fight by placing a kiss on her forehead. The door opens again and this time it's the doctor, Dr. Shorts.

"Good afternoon." She greets them. I have your internal ultrasound results here." She sits behind a computer and pulls up some info. "How are you both doing?" She tries to make small talk. "Good." Both Nathan and Sabrina reply automatically at the same time.

"Will I ever be able to have children?" Sabrina wanted to get right down to business.

Dr. Shorts doesn't immediately answer. She keeps her eyes on the screen.

Nathan and Sabrina looks at each other nervously. "It's going to be okay no matter what." He states.

She nods her head. He always did a great job comforting her. She just needed him to stop.

"Okay." Dr. Short states turning in be chair.

"Your ultra sound shows what we call endometriosis."

"What is that?" Nathan asks immediately.

"Well, the accident may have caused some scar tissue on and around your ovaries."

Sabrina didn't realize how much she was afraid of something like this might happen. "What does that mean?" This was the last thing any woman wanted to hear.

"It means that because of the scar tissue you wouldn't be able to ovulate. Which means you won't make any eggs."

"Is there something we can do," Nathan asks.

"Well there is a surgery we can do to remove some but, in some cases, it can come back and may even get worse, but let's stay optimistic. There's a variety of options that you have."

"If I do this surgery will that better my chances?"

"Maybe."

They left the doctor's office feeling disappointed. Her words echo in their heads.

Life took hold of them and shook them up. Everything went from being a dream to a nightmare. It was silent in the car. Sabrina didn't want to speak or be spoken to. She did want to think. This was her worst fear come alive. She may never have children. "Don't worry. You will be given every option available. And the best doctors. I will make sure of it." It was like he read her mind.

"Hmm..." She stares out the window.

"Hey." He puts pressure on her thigh. We will one day have a child but just so that you know. All I need to be happy is you in my life."

"Nathan, can we please stop talking about this?" She lets out a slow breath and leans her head onto the window.

"Sure." He places his hand on her head and caresses her softly.

When they arrived home there was a limo waiting in front of the gate. Nathan pulls up behind it and puts the vehicle in the park. "Stay here." He orders.

Just as he steps out a woman steps out of the limo. It was Vivian. She was dressed in a black pantsuit and a large pair of dark sunglasses.

Sabrina watched as Nathan's stops a few yards away from her and sticks his hand in his pants pocket. His face telling nothing. Vivian takes off her glasses and her lips begin moving.

They speak for a few moments before Nathan moves over to the guard gate and then comes back to her in the car.

"What's going on? Why is she here?"

"I don't know." He switches the truck into drive.

"She wants to speak with us." They follow Vivian's limo into their driveway.

Once they've all entered the house they sit around the kitchen table.

"May I have a cup of coffee? Vivian ask.

"You didn't come here for that so get to it," Nathan spoke harshly.

"Nathan!" Sabrina touches his muscular arms.

"Of course. I'll make it for you." Sabrina gives her a faint smile before getting up from the table.

As she makes the cup, not a word was spoken. She sits back down at the table and places the hot cup in front of Vivian.

"Now, What did you come here for?"

"I, I'm sorry for what your father has done." Vivian looks at the table.

"We don't need your sympathy."

"I didn't know he was going to do that I promise you. I would never hurt my grandchild.

Nathan glares at her with his arms folded. "Is that all?" He wasn't believing a word she was saying.

Vivian's eyes began to water. "No. I want to be in your lives. You're my son I love you."

Nathan seems to have no remorse for her. He lets out a breath showing his annoyance with her crying. "I have work to do." He gets up from the table. "Wait please."

Nathan stands behind the chair he was sitting at with both hands on the back of it. "Hurry up. Get it out." He orders.

"I have changed. Your happiness matters to me, Nathan."

He looks down at the floor.

Sabrina felt sorry for Vivian. She would hate it if Auden treated her like this. She would probably cry just like Vivian. She could see the love and hurt she felt for her son. After the experience, she just had with her own son she understood Mariel a little bit better.

"Okay and what exactly do you want from me?" He hisses.

"I want to live with you. Your father is in jail for life. I'm lonely. I just want my kids and grandkids."

"What's wrong with Clarissa's or Baylee's place?"

"This is where I would like to stay." Vivian looks at her son pleadingly. "With you."

"No!" Nathan barks leaving the kitchen.

Later that night Sabrina was laying in their bed thinking of the day's events. She couldn't sleep even if she wanted too. Nathan comes into the room and onto the bed pulling her into his arms as he always did. Chest to back. He inhales her scent and kisses the side of her neck. "Good night sweetheart, I love you." He whispers.

After a minute of laying in silence. "Nathan?" She whispers.

"Hmm" He moans

"I think you should let your mother live with us."

"Why?"

"She is still your mother."

"So."

"I could only imagine the pain she feels. Her son not wanting anything to do with her. It must feel horrible. I know if Auden was that mean to me I would cry too."

He lays flat on his back and lets out a deep breath. "What do you want me to do?"

"Give her a chance. Maybe she really didn't have anything to do with what happen."

"Sabrina." He groans. If there was one thing she learned about him during their marriage, it was that he would always give into her.

"It's up to you. I just think of it from a mothers perspective."

He groans again. "Fine." He turns back on his side and puts his arm around her.

"Thank you."

He brings his warm breath close shoulders and kisses her gently. "I miss you." He whispers as he kisses the sides of her neck.

They haven't slept together since before the incident. She just couldn't get in the mood with all that she's been through lately. "I'm tried."

He responds by grabbing her jaw and tilting her head up so she was facing him. He plants his lips down onto hers and gives gentle slow sensual kiss. A kiss she could help but respond too. It lasted lasted five seconds before he pulls barely and inch away speaking near her mouth. "I'll just have to be content with that..." He caresses her hair and kisses her forehead. "Good night."
