Honey, I'll Make You a Star (Margaret and Charleston) -
Chapter 6 Meeting The Boss
Chapter 6 Meeting The Boss
Margaret rose to her feet, turned towards her phone, and saw that there was a phone call coming in.
Margaret rubbed her sleepy eyes while she answered the phone, "Hello, may I ask who is this?"
"Hello, is this Miss Simons?" she had never heard this man's voice before.
Although Margaret was confused as to how the other party would know her name, she still replied, "Yes, it's me."
"Miss Simons, we know that you found a wallet at the airport the other day, but we noticed that there was a photo missing. I would like to ask if you saw the photo?" Larry asked in a deep voice.
"I did pick up the wallet, but I never opened it." Margaret instantly sobered up.
"I see..." Larry frowned and continued, "Miss Simons, I wonder if you could come out to meet?"
The photo was very important to his boss, and Margaret was the only lead he had. If he wanted to replace the photo, he could only start with Margaret.
"Why not just talk over the phone?" Margaret asked vigilantly.
"We'll meet in Cloudrea Square in twenty minutes. If not, you'll have to bear the consequences." Larry's voice dropped a few octaves lower as he threatened her.
Even though they were speaking through the phone, Margaret could sense the seriousness in the threat.
Before her senses returned, he had already ended the call.
"F*ck! You're the one asking me for a favor! The audacity you have for being so arrogant!" Margaret was so angry, her lips twitched as she threw her mobile phone on her bed.
She suddenly realized that her audition later would be at Cloudrea Square. Fine, since it was on her way, she would drop by to see this person.
Only then did Margaret manage to calm herself down. She went to the bathroom and began brushing her teeth and washing herself up.
She then went in front of her mirror and did her own make up. Since her facial features were soft and delicate, all she needed was some light make up to complement her smooth skin texture. This audition was very important to her, so she didn't dare to take it lightly.
On the other side of town.
"Sir..." Larry looked at Charleston in shock as he suddenly got up and grabbed his mobile phone.
"Arrange a car for me and get ready to go to Cloudrea Square!" Charleston instructed before returning the phone to Larry. His eyes were cold, and sharp with determination.
"Noted, Sir." Larry nodded.
After getting on the taxi and arriving at Cloudrea Square, Margaret called Larry back and asked, "I'm already at Cloudrea Square. Where are you?"
"Miss Simons, he is on the second floor of the cafe," Larry answered.
As Margaret arrived at the coffee shop, Larry politely invited her in and said, "This way, Miss Simons."
Margaret walked towards the corner and saw a man sitting on the royal blue sofa. His facial features looked like a carbon copy of a perfectly carved-out sculpture. God probably adored him. He looked perfect from every angle.
However, she thought that this man looked quite familiar to her. Had she met him somewhere before?
"Hi, Sir." Margaret greeted politely.
"Where are the photos?" the man asked without beating around the bush. He didn't even bother to look at her.
"I'm sorry, I didn't see any photos," she replied. "Didn't this man understand human language?" she thought to herself.
Charleston looked at Margaret with a scrutinizing gaze.
A chill instantly ran down Margeret's spine.
The man seemed to emit a very strong, and forceful aura. Perhaps, he was in some mafia group. Perhaps, there were some scandalous secrets in the photo....
"If you don't mind, may I ask what's in that photo?" Margaret questioned.
"It's none of your business!" Charleston snapped.
"If you don't tell me about it, how would I know if I've seen it before?" Margaret raised her eyebrows.
Charleston frowned. What she said did make sense. After some time, he managed to cough his words out, "It's a photo of me naked."
