Clare strolled into the golden relished dome, her legs still lazed from the extra walking she done in the past four hours since she and Kalbreal met with Nathan at the bayou. She paced, up and down the long hallway of the Moonstone castle, whilst her brother lectured her vigilantly on how she should and shouldn't behave at the meeting today, what to say, how to say it when to say it. Her head spun with information, but at the end of all that prepping she crashed, winging it was now her only option.

Now, she stood in silent admiration alongside a nonchalant Nathan, Alonso and Nadia. They were in a place to what could be described as a dome, surrounded by six large throne chairs made of white marble with black and yellow crystals embedded on the backrest and hinges of its body, rooted firmly to the ground. Kalbreal hadn't joined them, after he showed her his wings, he had shut off, she was only partially curious as to why, but felt more relieved than anything after Nathan told her as well, that Kalbreals scent was pure ambrosia, meaning he was a walking aphrodisiac and could only be warded off by strong descendants.

Her nerves mirrored by her tightened features as she scanned the area like prey on foreign ground. Nathan called it the dome because, from the outside, it resembled a semi-circle marble slab in different shades of green, which swirled like a hypnotic illusion.

The inside was floored with underneath lighting and black walls glimmered from the correct angle. The six throne chairs, where they now stood smack centre of, was the only furniture in the expanse. She yawned as Alonso started murmuring musical tunes and making dramatic humming noises. Attempting to withhold her laugh with a hand on her mouth, she looked up to see a huge grin masked on Nathans's face. He leaned in, whispered in her ear-

"Weird right?"

She didn't reply, because at that moment she really listened to the tune Alonso hummed, and her laugh instantly disintegrated as something triggered inside her, chills spiked her spine, leaving a bitter taste in her mouth, and she knew that taste, fear.

Vibrations rocked the ground beneath her feet, just as her brother crushed her head to his sternum. She looked down to the white stoned floor, which mirrored a fluorescent crystal, in total contrast to the brown leather pants she was sporting and the black cashmere t-shirt Nathan got her as a good luck token.

The floor started its descent, the walls acted as the only support down the smooth ride. She recalled Caidrian telling her that their infrastructure was advanced, but a design as such made from marble, this she knew not even the Germans would be able to pull off.

"It's called an elevator," Nadia said aloud. Clare forgot she was even there; Nadia was exceptionally quiet since they arrived at the dome.

Clare not even half impressed, rolled her eyes, and pursed her lips, "I never would've guessed."

Nadia mumbled, "Anytime."

They stopped five meters below, four tunnels now in view, two ascended on a slope and one went straight ahead before turning right three meters into the cave, but the fourth was dark, pitch black, no light or fires lit up its map.

She doubted and hoped they wouldn't go in that one, but unfortunately, luck had taken a zero percent interest in the life of Clare Moonstone recently. She brushed off the nervous twinge in her belly before she followed the others in silence.

The smell of wet clay, assaulted her nostrils mixed with incense of honeysuckle, she wasn't sure. The scents in the whole realm were all so overpowering and strong but the land itself was a lot to take in to worry much about the smell.

She cut into a corner as the dim floating lights on the roof, projecting what could be only explained as waves of light, gave her a clearer view. Frozen and bemused to see that it wasn't lighted exactly but glow in the dark butterflies. Entranced by the beauty with the change in glows, she had to force herself to move on.

Focusing on the sounds of Nathan and Alonso's boots she asked, "Why do we have to wear brown leathers? Why can't I wear grey, is it suppose to symbolize something?"

"It's more like different strokes for individual folks," Nathan answered, slowing down to step in line with her, "It's the material that counts, grey leather is stronger and more flexible, great when hunting demons, because it's from the shells of the guiders eggs, it also protects you from being sensed by minor demons, and it's almost impenetrable."☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
