Chapter 432 Another Visit To Grandma’s

"I don't know. You'll have to ask Chen Hao!" Yang Xiaobei said and left unceremoniously.

"This is it. We're doomed. Yang Xiaobei has scored a big victory for the family!" Yang Ye said furiously.

"Patience. I refuse to believe Yang Xiaobei can turn the tables this quickly. Our biggest problem now isn't her but the son of that cheap woman, Chen Hao. We must replace out exactly how powerful he is!" Guo Ru had just finished her sentence when the family group chat received a message. It was from the butler, and he was summoning them to the family meeting room in an hour.

"I told you. Yang Xiaobei is already trying to take credit, and it's got to be for the project!" Aunt Xu Sen said.

Guo Ru sneered with crossed arms, "Let's go back. I want to see just how resilient this girl is!"

An hour later, everyone was in the Yang family meeting room. Usually, family meetings were called on behalf of Madame Yang with mandatory attendance, so everyone in the family quickly assembled there. Meanwhile, Madame Yang herself sat at the head of the table with a radiant expression.

"I trust you all have heard about why we're here today. That's right, we're here to commend Xiao Bei for successfully doing what I asked for this morning in a single afternoon. "Xiaobei, continue to maintain a good relationship with Xinfeng Group. Grandma believes in you!" Madame Yang said. After discussing many other things on the agenda, the meeting was dismissed, and Yang Xiaobei left.

"Mother," Guo Ru stayed behind and whispered, "Xiaobei is indeed capable, and that is praiseworthy. But do you really plan on putting her in charge?"

"She got the projects, so of course she'll be in charge!" Madame Yang said.

"That's true, I even agree with the decision to make her Vice President. But Mother, have you considered that as capable as she is, she's still just a girl? It's not that she can't handle the responsibilities, but it's just that she's old enough to get married any day now. Once she marries into a different family, she'll..."

Madame Yang seemed to calm down after hearing her words, so Guo Ru continued, "Besides, Xiaobei has always been learning the ropes at the lower levels but never at the upper ones like Yang Ye has. However, Guo Ru said something to her, and now I'm working with Yang Ye on this. What right does he have to do this after how he treated my mother and me?" Xiaobei fumed.

"That's it? Remember, you still call the shots here. Xinfeng Group chose to work with you, not Yang Ye," Chen Hao reminded her.

"Oh, right! Then I'll be fine! By the way, Chen Hao, I see you have a hamper over there. What's it for?" Xiaobei looked at Chen Hao.

"I was planning another visit to Grandma's after you all were finished with that meeting." Chen Hao wiped his hands and picked up the hamper. He had planned to go this morning, but the sudden meeting and the prospect of seeing his aunts again gave him second thoughts.

"What? Did you think this was my birthday present for you?" Chen Hao smiled. He remembered her birthday was in two days.

"Of course not!" Yang Xiaobei stuck out her tongue at him.

"All right, I'll go visit Grandma first. She's been going to bed early a lot these days." Chen Hao was in a hurry to discuss this matter with his grandmother, and so he left.

When he arrived, Chen Hao ran into Yang Ye and Guo Ru just as they were strolling. "Chen Hao, what are you doing here this late at night?" they asked warily. "I'm looking for Grandma," Chen Hao replied.

"Hmph! Your grandma is resting right now. Whatever you want to say to her, just say it to me," Guo Ru said with crossed arms.

"It's none of your business," Chen Hao replied coldly and left immediately.

"Hold it right there! H-How dare you speak to me like this?" Guo Ru fumed. How dare Chen Hao not show her any respect, especially in front of the servants? "What's wrong?" Chen Hao whirled around and asked harshly.

Under Chen Hao's gaze, Guo Ru suddenly found herself speechless. "Nothing." After that, she watched Chen Hao go inside.

"Mom, that village boy is starting to forget himself. Why were you so scared of him just now?" Yang Ye said indignantly.

"What? Did I look that scared?" Guo Ru asked in disbelief. When Yang Ye nodded, she remembered how her heart nearly skipped a beat when Chen Hao turned to glare at her.

Human emotions were so strange. Just a few days ago, Chen Hao had an air of aloofness as usual, and she still mocked and ridiculed him like he was nothing simply because she didn't like him. Now, Chen Hao was the same as he was a few days ago, but whenever she criticised him or even insulted him in any way, she felt less confidence for some reason. She even felt fear when Chen Hao glared at her, but why? She couldn't believe this!

"Ma'am, Young Master Chen is here!" Ashen told Madame Yang just as she was about to rest.

Madame Yang froze for a moment before she said, "Send him in."
