Summary
“Time travel?” Jess laughed at the idea. That was something for Science fiction writers. Wasn’t it?The only problem with this was her dad and godfather were the ones telling her about it. Their own stories and experiences about how they traveled and where they ended up and Jess trusted and believed them. These men had raised her and her brother, Nick. They had taught them their survival skills and fighting, riding horses, and hunting. Their entire childhood was taken up with learning how to defend themselves when the need arose and how to use what they had at their disposal to survive. Why were they telling her this now? Because her brother had found out about time travel, joined some sort of dodgy syndicate, and got himself into deep trouble with this syndicate who now sent them a note saying Nick was dead.Jess called BS on that one because her gut told her otherwise. She would know if Nick was dead and it would not matter whether he was in her time or another. She would know, wouldn’t she?If this so-called time traveling is what they had to do to replace Nick, then that is what they would be going to do. Jess had no clue what she was doing, what would happen, or what to expect, but she would have her dad, Ben, and her godfather, Willy, with her and together they would replace Nick. Not for one moment did Jess think her loyalty, love and desire would be tested.
