Chapter 166: You Should Stay Away From Other Men
Zane raised his eyebrows when Yanis said this. "Are you going to live here?"
Yanis didn't deny it nor admit it either. "Mr. Lawrence, this is my own business."
Zane strode up to her, looking at her meaningfully, and said faintly, "Yanis, we haven't divorced yet."
After hearing Zane's words, the first thing Yanis thought of was what happened at the gate of the mall today. She couldn't help but be terrified, just for a moment. She looked at the man's dark eyes, "So?" "So, you should stay away from other men!"
Yanis somehow wanted to laugh when she heard this, and she did.
Yanis's laugh changed Zane's expression a little. His dark eyes fell on Yanis, seemingly looking right through her.
Yanis stopped laughing and looked up at Zane. "Doesn't Mr. Lawrence think it's funny to talk like that? If I'm still married, then what about you?"
Zane's face changed slightly. He looked at Yanis, trying to say something, but could't replace the right words.
The two of them stood staring at each other in the empty living room.
Finally, Yanis looked away and stepped out, "If Mr. Lawrence wants to stay here, stay here, but close the door when you leave."
Yanis only took two steps and she was hugged by the man from behind. His warm breath was blowing in her ears, making Yanis feel stiff for a moment. She asked, "Zane, what are you doing?" "Yanis, we..."
A sudden ring interrupted what Zane was trying to say afterward.
Yanis broke away from Zane and took out her phone to answer the call.
Since it was from an unknown caller. Yanis's voice was not gentle and even a little cold. "Hello?"
There was a second of silence. "Miss Thompson? This is Iris."
Yanis softened a little her tone when she heard this. "Mr. Duncan, are you back?"
Iris' gentle voice on the other side of the phone said, "Miss Thompson, I'm sorry, but I may be a little late. I'll bring your things to you tomorrow morning. Will you be in Linen Bay tomorrow?" Yanis answered directly, "yes, you can send me a message and I will come."
"Ok, sorry about that."
"It's all right."
"Thanks for helping me pick stuff today, Miss Thompson. Magnus said if you're free tomorrow night, you and Miss Cooke should come over to his place for dinner."
Yanis hesitated. "I'll get back to you tomorrow, because Bonnie may be tied up for a couple of days."
Iris responded, "okay, we'll be in touch tomorrow, so I'll leave you alone."
"Ok," Iris said.
After hanging up, Yanis put away her phone and walked out.
Zane followed her as she walked down the stairs and out of the elevator. Zane reached for Yanis's arm and said, "I'll drive you there."
Yanis pulled her hand back. "No, I drove Bonnie's car."
"Yanis."
"What's wrong?"
When Yanis stared at Zane, he couldn't say what he was planning to say.
The two men remained silent.
In the end, Yanis said nothing, turned around, and walked towards the parking direction.
Zane didn't follow her this time. He just stood there and watched Yanis drive away.
In fact, after calming down, he didn't know why he asked Albi to check Yanis's location. He forgot what he came to tell her in such a hurry. On his way here, he had a lot to say.
But when he met Yanis, Zane didn't know how or what to say.
By the time Yanis returned to the studio, it was completely dark.
Bonnie called just in time. "Yanis, are you in the studio?"
Yanis answers, "yes, what's up?"
"Ok, I'm coming back without my key. If you are not here, I will go back to the hospital to get it."
"Yes, I just came back from Linen Bay." Yanis came in the door, and asked, "you are not staying in the hospital to take care of Myles?"
"Haider is over there. I'm coming back to take a shower. I'll go to switch with Haider in the morning."
Yanis grunted, "ok. I'll be here."
"Have you eaten yet, Yanis? I haven't eaten yet."
"Not yet, order in?"
Bonnie responded, "up to you. I'll be home in about a half hour. There's a little traffic."
They talk a little more before hanging up.
Yanis went in and changed her shoes. Then she sat down on the sofa and ordered takeout.
While waiting for the delivery, Yanis took a shower and got dressed.
When she got downstairs, Bonnie just walked in the door.
"Did you take a shower?" Bonnie talked to Yanis as she changed her shoes.
Yanis said yes. "Why haven't you eaten yet? Myles didn't invite you?"
Bonnie snorted, "how dare he? I didn't want him to get mad at me for eating good food, so I didn't eat there."
Yanis said, "you care so much about Myles, right? Do you have feelings for him?"
After changing her shoes, Bonnie moved her seat next to Yanis and sat down. "No."
"Do you think I believe you?"
Upon hearing this, Bonnie suddenly looked at Yanis very seriously. "Yanis, do you think Myles and I are suitable for each other? I'm talking about if we get married one day."
Yanis looked at Bonnie in confusion. "Of course."
"I'm not sure about myself."
"You're not the type to compromise easily. If you're with Myles, you're determined to be with him, and you'll never meet anyone else who treats you as well as Myles."
Yanis actually envied Bonnie because she was the only person Myles liked.
Myles wasn't bad looking either. If she compared him with Zane, Yanis thought they were almost the same.
It was just that Zane would never treat her the way Myles treated Bonnie.
Bonnie held her chin and sighed. "I don't have a problem with him, it's just my temper. Myles will get tired of me one day."
Yanis stared at Bonnie for a moment. "Did you talk about anything today? Why are you suddenly asking such a serious question?"
Bonnie shook her head. "We didn't talk about anything. It just came out of the blue and I didn't feel like I had to get an answer." Yanis disagreed because Bonnie was never the one who would think about the future.
Even if she would, she wouldn't think that far.
Because Bonnie had always had the idea that life was too short and that one should always enjoy the moment.
She never thought too much about the future or things that were too far away.
"Did Myles mention marriage to you?" Yanis whispered this after looking at Bonnie for a moment.
