Chapter 380: Only You Can See
After Zane left the lounge, Yanis curled up on the bed. She didn't feel sleepy at first, but the bed was full of Zane's breath. After a while, Yanis fell asleep unconsciously. Recently, there had been a lot of serious or small things, and neither she nor Zane have had a good rest.
This time Yanis slept quite a long time, and it was almost two o'clock in the afternoon when she woke up. Yanis lay beside the bed, listening to the faint sound of conversations coming from the office.
It was Albi and Zane.
The things they talked about were nothing more than business. It made Yanis sleepy again.
But before she could lie down again, the phone rang next to her pillow.
Glancing at the caller ID, Yanis answered the call. "Sandy?"
Sandy's voice came from the phone. "Yanis, are you busy today?"
Yanis just sat up. "Not busy, what's the matter?"
"Uncle and I are on the way to the Lawrence Group, do you want to go together?"
When Yanis heard Sandy's words, she was a little startled. "Are you on your way here?"
Sandy certainly didn't pay much attention to Yanis's words, and replied, "Yes, if you go there too. Where should we pick you up?"
Yanis said, "No need to. I'm right here now, you can come here directly."
Sandy said, "Aren't you with Bonnie?"
"I've been here a while, when are you coming?"
Sandy mumbled. She should have asked Brandon in a low voice. And then she responded to Yanis, "There's still about 20 or 30 minutes."
Yanis hummed. "Then come here, I'll wait for you at the door."
Yanis asked Sandy, "Did Mr. Hawkins tell Zane he was coming?" Sandy responded directly, "Yes, Mr. Lawrence knows it."
Yanis hummed. "Then you all come here."
The two chatted a few more words casually before hanging up the phone.
After the call, Yanis hesitated for a moment, then tiptoed to the door and took a look outside. If there was only Albi, Yanis planned to go out. If there were others, Yanis planned to go out when Sandy came. Yanis opened the lounge door slightly, and there were only Albi and Zane in the office outside.
Yanis opened the door and walked out.
Hearing the movement, Zane looked over immediately. "Are you awake?"
Yanis hummed.
When Albi saw Yanis, he nodded respectfully at Yanis. "Mrs. Lawrence."
Yanis nodded in response, then turned to look at Zane who was sitting on the office chair, and said gently, "Sandy and the others will come over later, I'll wait for them downstairs, you guys talk first." Zane raised his hand and glanced at the time. "I'll let Albi go down and pick them up later. It's windy outside, so don't go out."
"I will be in the lobby."
Zane hesitated for a few seconds, got up and took her coat, and put it on Yanis. While helping her adjust her clothes, he whispered, "You just woke up, don't get cold."
Yanis slightly raised her eyes to look at him. "Just get back to your business."
Zane hummed, and seeing Yanis leave the office, Zane looked at Albi. "You continue."
Albi responded and continued what he hadn't finished just now.
After getting off the elevator, Yanis went to the rest area on the side of the hall.
While waiting for Sandy and the others, Yanis sent Bonnie a message asking her about how she was doing.
However, Bonnie didn't respond even after a while.
Thinking that the two of them might still be chatting, Yanis didn't bother.
She looked down at the phone.
There were very few contacts on Yanis's Facebook, except for a few people she knew, there was almost no one on it. But when Yanis saw a post, Yanis paused slightly.
There was only one picture.
And with the words: [I think this is real, not just a momentary freeze.]
There was a comment below, [Only you can see it.]
Yanis looked at the background of the photo. It should have been taken when they were strolling through Lover's Bay.
Although the person above showed only half his face.
Yanis still recognized the person at a glance.
Yanis stared at this photo for a long time and closed the page.
Just when Yanis was about to put down her phone, she received a reminder from Facebook.
Yanis clicked on it. It was from Ivan.
[Yanis, I'm getting engaged next week.]
When Yanis saw this message, she was obviously taken aback. After staring at this sentence for a long time, Yanis typed and replied, [So suddenly?]
It took about ten seconds for Ivan to reply. [It's not sudden, I've been thinking about it for a long time.]
Yanis suddenly didn't know what to say.
Just as Yanis was contemplating the appropriate wording, Ivan called directly.
Yanis hesitated for a few seconds before taking the call. "Ivan."
Ivan hummed on the phone, then said, "Are you free tonight? Have a meal together? Let me introduce her formally to you."
For some reason, Yanis felt inexplicably depressed when hearing Ivan's words.
Yanis knew what Ivan was like.
The announcement of the engagement was too sudden. It was not because she thought too highly of herself, but because she felt that it had something to do with her. Yanis wanted to respond but suddenly remembered that Zane said that they would go to the old mansion for dinner tonight. "Maybe not tonight, but tomorrow?"
Ivan responded simply, "Okay, let's do it tomorrow, call Bonnie to come together tomorrow."
Yanis hummed and wanted to ask if it was Mila, but Yanis still didn't ask in the end.
Ivan probably also knew that it was too embarrassing to talk to Yanis about his engagement. Fortunately, there was also something else to talk about.
"Darin called me in the morning, he was afraid of disturbing you." Ivan changed the topic to Darin.
Hearing Ivan's words, Yanis couldn't help thinking about what happened a month ago and pursed her lower lip. "It's all right."
"He asked me to ask you if you have any ideas about designing jewelry in the future. If you like, he still wants to cooperate with you."
After listening to Ivan's words, Yanis was silent for a few seconds. "I have this plan, but I may not only sign with him. I promised Bonnie I would work with her."
Ivan said, "He will come to Manches City in a while, and then you can make an appointment to talk through this. If you have any questions, just ask him, don't worry about anything else." Yanis hummed. "Okay."
After the answer, the two seemed to run out of words again.
Fortunately, Sandy and Brandon came in through the door just then. Yanis greeted Ivan and hung up the phone.
