Chapter 617: He Likes You, Why Won'T He Tell You Where He Went?
Chapter 617: He likes you, why won't he tell you where he went?
Anna looked at Yanis and said, "I need to talk to you!"
Bonnie said, "Do you have a problem understanding what I said? Do you want me to pay for you to retake the class?"
Because of her illness this time and Anna's previous attitude towards Yanis, Bonnie showed great restraint by not giving her a slap in the face.
"Miss Cooke, do we have a grudge against each other?" Anna said displeasedly when Bonnie targeted her.
Bonnie raised her hand and put it on Yanis's shoulder. She calmly said, "I don't have any grudges against you. But I unconditionally stand with Yanis. Whoever bullies her is bullying me too. So Miss Johnson, if you want something from Yanis, just say it here. You don't need to go out or change the place and I can't ignore it either."
Bonnie made herself clear without leaving any room for Anna.
The meaning was also very obvious: speak up or leave.
Anna stood in front of the two people for a few seconds before finally speaking again, "Have you seen Iris recently?" She asked while looking at Yanis.
Yanis frowned slightly when she heard Anna's question, "Miss Johnson, do you think that maybe you've got the wrong person? Iris and I are just friends at most. Who says that friends must know each other's whereabouts all the time?"
After hearing what Yanis had to say, Anna retorted, "He likes you, so why wouldn't he tell you where he went?"
Yanis almost laughed out loud because of what Anna had just said, "Miss Johnson, your logic is flawed here. There is no reason why Iris should report his whereabouts or activities since we're only friends; furthermore there isn't any reason why he should report them either. Do you understand what I mean?"
Bonnie chimed in and said, "If you want to replace Iris, then go look for him at his company or hia family! Why did you come here acting crazy like this?"
Anna was left speechless by their words, but still managed to mutter under breath as she stomped away angrily, "It would be better if you kept your distance from him!"
Afterwards Bonnie wanted to chase Anna but was stopped by Yanis who asked, "What are you doing?"
"I'm going to teach her how to act properly!" replied an angry Bonnie.
Yanis held onto her arm as she changed the subject, "When were you discharged from the hospital?"
Bonnie grunted and said, "The hospital bed was really uncomfortable to sleep on. I'm not sure if staying there for another night would make me better, but I'm sure I would be dead." With that, Bonnie walked over and lay down on the nearby sofa as if she had no bones. "I'll check out of the hospital later. I stayed there last night."
Yanis glanced at her and asked, "Still have a fever?"
Bonnie raised her hand to her forehead and tried it out. "No fever last night, but had a low fever in the afternoon. It should be almost gone now."
Yanis nodded and turned around to pour her a glass of water. "What do you want to eat? Shall I get something for you?"
Bonnie glanced aside and looked at the time before turning back to Yanis and said, "Where's Wendy? She hasn't come yet?"
As soon as Bonnie finished speaking, Wendy's voice rang out from beside them: "I'm here! Just bought some things for Alfie."
Wendy put down what she brought with her and greeted Yanis before looking over at Bonnie lying on the sofa offhandedly asking: "Discharged already? Are you feeling better?"
Immediately changing her expression, Bonnie looked pitifully at Wendy, saying, "Wendy, quickly get me something delicious so that I can replenish myself properly! These past two days have made me skin- and-bones!"
Seeing Bonnie like this caused Wendy to chuckle lightly; "You're still skin-and-bones like this? Then Yanis must be malnourished!"
Bonnie retorted indignantly: "... Wendy! Don't forget who your boss is!"
"Yanis is also my boss."
Bonnie grumbled silently before saying resignedly: "Forget it then... My warm heart has grown cold..."
Yanis handed over a cup of warm water while remarking casually, "Here's something warm for you."
Staring at Yanis for a while, Bonnie finally took hold of the cup in frustration as if venting anger by taking large gulps from it; "It's not even hot anymore... whatever, you guys figure it out. I'm going back to sleep some more."
"Do you want porridge or something else?"
Instructing them with an air of superiority reserved only for patients, Bonnie said, "I want fried dumplings, I want bagels, I want spaghetti, I want..."
"Wendy just boil some milk instead. I'll go buy some bagels."
Before Bonnie could finish talking, Yanis interrupted, "She should eat lighter food right now."
Agreeing with him, Wendy nodded along while looking at Bonnie, "You can eat those things when you're feeling better. There's no rush!"After Wendy finished speaking, she turned and went to the kitchen. Bonnie glared at Yanis angrily. "You're abusing me!"
Yanis just ignored her and was ready to go replace Alfie.
"Alfie?"
Upon hearing Yanis' voice, Alfie immediately abandoned Linda and ran towards Yanis. "Good morning, Yanis!"
"Good morning, Alfie!"
Linda followed behind them with a look of disdain on her face. "Do I not look younger or prettier than your Yanis?" Alfie looked at her in disgust. "Aunt Lowe, you need to face reality."
Linda almost lost it, but managed to restrain herself as she pointed a finger at Alfie before turning around and leaving.
Bonnie stepped forward and pinched Alfie's face lightly. "Your mother bullied me, so I'll bully you too!"
Alfie's face contorted from the pinch as he asked Bonnie if she had just gone through a breakup.
Bonnie was speechless as she thought that both the mother and son wanted to drive her crazy today. She then pinched his other cheek even harder while saying: "You're not a good boy!" Afterwards, Bonnie stormed upstairs and said, "I want fried chicken wings!"
"And soup dumplings!" someone else added.
Yanis pretended not to hear them as he took Alfie out of the house to buy bagels instead.
Around nine o'clock in the morning, two customers arrived who wanted custom-made wedding rings from Yanis' shop.
Yanis showed them her portfolio first before offering: "If there isn't anything that satisfies you here, then we can discuss what kind of design you want if we are able to make it in time."
The woman smiled at her before explaining how they heard about her shop from their friend Nancy, who said all their jewelry is beautiful.
Yanis nodded and turned to take the necklace. "Is it this style?"
The woman nodded, pulled down the man's coat, "Dear, do you look good?"
The man took a look at it and said, "Try it first. Buy it if it suits you."
