Chapter 628: A Love Affair with No Result at That Time

These thoughts were growing crazily in Bonnie's mind, making her feel anxious and uneasy. Just as she couldn't sit still any longer and was about to get up, the office door was pushed open.

Haider walked in from outside with a serious expression on his face. However, when he saw Bonnie sitting on the couch next to Yanis, his expression visibly softened.

"Have you been waiting long?" Haider asked as he looked at the two of them.

Bonnie didn't answer but instead put down the water cup in her hand and looked straight at Haider when she saw him. When Haider met Bonnie's gaze, there was a momentary stiffness on his face before he sat down opposite them.

"I haven't seen him since after we paid our respects to our ancestors," Haider said.

It was clear who "him" referred to. When Bonnie heard this, she couldn't help but furrow her brows. "You haven't seen him either?"

Haider nodded. "I've had people look for him everywhere he could have gone but no one has found him."

At this point, Haider paused for a moment before continuing. "I even went to Black Market myself and asked Anthony if he had seen Myles but no luck."

Bonnie frowned even more deeply. "He's not someone who can just disappear like that."

Haider was also exhausted from worrying about this matter and suddenly remembered something else. He got up from his seat and took Myles' phone out of one of the drawers in his desk before walking over to give it to Bonnie.

"This is his phone," Haider said as he handed it over."The password has been cracked by Eduard so you can see all the scheduled messages that haven't been sent yet."

When Bonnie received the phone from Haider's hands, she hesitated for a moment before finally taking it from him. She didn't immediately open up the scheduled messages inside though.

Seeing that she hadn't done anything with it yet after some time passed, Haide spoke softly,"Bonnie, do you want to read what's inside first or talk first?"

After thinking about it briefly, Bonnie looked towards Haidar."Let's talk first."

Haide nodded then took out his own phone unlocked it, and opened up Myles' chat history with himself. He then handed overhisphoneand said, "This is what Myles sent me right after disappearing."

This time, Bonnie didn't hesitate anymore. She reached outand took Haidar'sphone. The content above wasslightly lengthy... Bonnie finished reading silently, only remembering one sentence: "Tell Uncle Cooke I'm sorry, Bonnie... that's it. Over time, she'll resent me and forget about it." There was also another sentence: "I don't really like Bonnie that much. Maybe because we're always together, I have a mistaken feeling of love for her. So let's forget about marriage and just consider it a love affair without results."

Bonnie couldn't quite describe how she felt after reading these words.

Even though she had said before that she wanted to break up with Myles because of Isabel and Gene's situation, deep down inside Bonnie knew that Myles would never leave her.

She had always been spoiled in front of Myles, even to the point where she thought no matter what she did, he would still stay by her side forever.

But now after reading these words, Bonnie suddenly realized how ridiculous her previous thoughts were.

It was always her who controlled everything between them; she was the one in power.

But now the person who used to obey all of her commands suddenly didn't want to listen or follow anymore. This left Bonnie lost and confused like being trapped in a maze where no matter how hard you try to escape you only end up getting more lost.

"Bonnie?" Haider called out softly when he noticed that Bonnie hadn't moved for some time.

After hearing Haider's voice, Bonnie placed his phone on the table beside him and asked, "So does he want to break up?"

As soon as those words came out of her mouth even Bonnie herself didn't realize how much they trembled with fear.

Myles rubbed his forehead with his hand, "You two are always bickering so much... now I don't know what to say."

Bonnie took a deep breath, "Okay then if he wants to break up then let him do it right here in front of me. I'm not someone who will cling onto something endlessly."

After saying this, Bonnie stood up from his seat and pulled Yanis along with him."Yanis let's go back."

"Bonnie."Haider also stood up from his seat looking at Bonne, "There is something else I want talk about regarding Myles."

At first, Bonnie wanted refuse but before he could say anything, Yanis spoke first,"You guys talk, I'll make a call outside."

After saying this, Yanis turned towards Bonne slightly whispering: "Talk with Haider first, I'll be waiting outside for you."Bonnie hesitated for a moment under Yanis's gaze, but eventually sat back down. Yanis breathed a sigh of relief as he watched Bonnie sit back down. He looked over at Haider and said, "I'll wait for her outside."

Haider nodded in agreement. As Yanis left the room, he glanced at Bonnie one last time before turning around and walking out. "Miss Thompson, is there anything you need?" Eduard approached just as Yanis left the room.

Yanis shook his head and replied, "No, I'm just going to make a phone call."

Eduard nodded respectfully. "You can use the guest room over there if you'd like. It's quiet and no one will disturb you."

After some hesitation, Yanis agreed and followed Eduard to the guest room.

"Albi... do you have any brothers?" Yanis suddenly remembered that Zane's assistant was named Albi.

The two names together sounded like they could be brothers.

Eduard looked at him curiously before answering, "Yes, he has a younger brother who just started college."

Yanis shrugged nonchalantly. "Just curious."

Eduard chuckled softly after hearing this response from Yanis,"Are you talking about Mr. Lawrence's assistant Albi?"

When Yanis heard this from Eduard, he raised an eyebrow in surprise, "Do you know him?"

Eduard explained further, "We met when Mr. Lawrence had a meeting with Mr. Hughes once before. Mr. Hughes joked that we must have some kind of relationship with each other."

Yanis laughed lightly upon hearing this but didn't say anything else about it.

After bringing Yanis to the guestroom, Eduard went off to attend his own business leaving him alone in peace while Haider remained in his office with Bonnie.

There was an eerie atmosphere inside Haider's office that couldn't be described by words.

Haider stood up to pour warm water for Bonnie before speaking again,"Myles talked to me recently. He said Black Market is planning on handing over some of their work to their subordinates so they can start their own studio. They want to become legitimate businessmen. After your incident with Aunt Isabel, he decided on this plan. He has been busy arranging everything since then."

Pausing briefly, Haidar continued,"He even asked me help replace them a suitable location."
