Chapter 663 Don't snatch people when it's time to leave.

"Iris!" Mr. Morris called out seriously, "I'm serious, if you really don't have any thoughts about it, then I might..." "You're a married man, your thoughts are dangerous!" Iris interrupted him before he could finish.

Mr. Morris said, "... are you talking about me? I could be her father. What kind of thoughts do you think I have?" Iris looked at him and asked, "Then what did you mean earlier?"

Mr. Morris glared at Iris and said, "What do you think I meant?"

Iris didn't say anything and the two of them stood there staring at each other in front of the hospital for a while.

Finally Mr. Morris compromised first and said, "What I meant was that if you really don't have any thoughts about it then..."

"What kind of thoughts?" Iris asked.

"My son is around Anika's age," Mr. Morris said. "Although we're not a wealthy family or anything like that but young people always have things to talk about right? If they hit it off then wouldn't that be great?" After listening to Mr. Morris' words for a few seconds without saying anything Iris finally spoke up and said, "Then give it a try."

Mr. Morris looked at her face after hearing this statement, "Give it a try?"

Iris nodded, "Yes, give it a try."

"Okay," Mr. Morris agreed. "When Anika gets better, we'll arrange for them to meet."

After speaking, Mr. Morris seemed to remember something as he looked towards Iris ."Just so we're clear, I asked your opinion beforehand so don't go stealing my son later on."

"I'm going upstairs now," Iris replied without waiting for Mr. Morris' response before turning around and walking straight into the hospital lobby.

Standing in the elevator, the words spoken by Mr. Morris earlier flashed through her mind causing her eyebrows to furrow involuntarily. When she arrived in the ward, Yanis was talking with Anika.

As soon as she entered, the two almost simultaneously turned their heads towards her direction. Iris paused momentarily upon seeing their gazes fixed on herself before asking, "What's wrong ?" Yanis spoke up first,"Aren't you supposed to be over at company headquarters ?"

"There's nothing important going on over there," replied Iris as she walked over to sit beside Anika's bed. Anika also looked at Iris and said softly, "There's nothing for you to do here. You can go back to your work."

Iris checked the time on her watch. "There's nothing urgent at the office either."

At this point, Iris turned to Yanis and asked, "What about you? Do you have anything important to attend to?"

As it turned out, Yanis did have some things on his plate. Due to Anika's situation, he had pushed back a few client appointments by two days already and now they were all getting impatient.

Iris could tell that Yanis was preoccupied with something else so she spoke up gently. "If there is something pressing that needs your attention right now, then go ahead and take care of it. You can come back later tonight when things are less hectic."

Yanis didn't say anything but instead looked over at Anika.

Anika naturally wanted Iris to stay but didn't want her work life disrupted either so she spoke up softly again saying," I don't have much going on right now so why don't both of you head back first? Come over for dinner later when things are quieter here in the hospital. Besides there are nurses around if I need any help."

"Yanis should head off first since Jefferson is here with me; he can handle most issues," added Iris.

Hearing this from Iris made Yanis realize that he needed to get going soon too without further delay as clients were waiting for him elsewhere. He said simply," Okay then I'll go see my clients first and measure their sizes before coming back later tonight."

Iris nodded in agreement while Bonnie who had just emerged from her office upon hearing Yanis' voice asked him hurriedly,"Where are you off too?"

Stopping in his tracks upon hearing Bonnie calling out after him, Yanis turned around towards her direction asking, "You haven't gone out today?"

Bonnie walked closer towards where Yanis was standing holding onto a tablet device which caught his attention prompting him ask, "Are you meeting someone?"

Nodding affirmatively, Yanis explained further," It was supposed be scheduled two days ago but due Anika's situation, I had postponed it till today which is why they're pushing me hard. So, I'm heading over there now just measure their sizes before finalizing their designs."

"Will you be coming back here afterwards or heading straight over Anika's place once done?" queried Bonnie curiously.

"I'm not sure yet; depends on how long it takes me. If I finish early enough, I'll come by again otherwise will probably head straight over," replied Yanishonestly still unsure himself what would happen next. Shaking her head, Bonnie smiled warmly saying," Just checking! If ever decide come by again after finishing up let me know; we could visit Anikatogether."""Let me check later tonight. If I finish my work early, I'll come back and we can go together," he said.

Bonnie replied, "You're here now. Is there no one at the hospital?"
